  4. cm does have a lot of forum staff experience as well as experience on SBC (several years ago). Off topic, but I’m slightly impressed on his grammar use, especially since he’s not a native speaker. He actually referred to the reason why we’ve turned him down before and addressed it: “I was known to be strict on several situations, but at the end of the day I was friendly with everyone.” I’m not entirely convinced on that use of “friendly,” but when I saw this, I accepted his use: “But in the past I’ve been accused on not wanting change, today I can fairly say that I accept and tolerate change as long as its for the best. […] Change is a crucial decision on any community” On SpongeCraft, I can confirm that he has never missed a deadline, and he’s always on - the reason why I nominated him to be an SC operator. He would actually host events and such, so those are innovative ideas.

  11. Well, it's crush. He's a great member, a great friend, and has a great application. He gets 10 pizza slices out of a pizza pie.

  15. - ...did you guys read the same application I did with crushing? It's a literal rehash of what he wrote last time with the same phoned in answers at times except he at least is aware now of his stance against change in the past. I applaud him for finally realizing that but three months isn't enough time to prove that you can immediately change your stance you've proven for nearly four years on it. I still have my doubts about a lot of his answers because he's proven over the years and as recently that he still has a tendency to do some of the things he states that he won't do as a forum moderator. I think he's perfectly fine doing his thing as a SpongeCraft mod and let him keep doing that. MDPP I respect your input, but I completely disagree with you as well as with Patty's comments. Being a great friend and member shouldn't equal to a great application.

  21. I did read the same application. However, I can say with an honest heart that he has proven himself over the course of 4 months as a SpongeCraft operator. I have witnessed it myself, and I am sure that Patty has witnessed it also: crushing has been very open to new ideas on SpongeCraft. In fact, when it was suggested to bring religions to the game, he was completely willing to allow it to happen and told others that they are able to create religions as well. After confronting him on the matter with the last moderator application, crushing told me that the only reason why he was resistant to change is because his own culture has a mindset of "don't fix what's not broken." To prove that he was right, I asked another Puerto Rican friend and he confirmed that it was true. In other words, he's only trying to be cautious of new things so that something like SBU doesn't happen again. However, crushing does see the value of being progressive, and SBC has significantly improved since Starfish was released. If anything, Starfish taught him that being progressive on some things is, in fact, a good thing when it is well planned and everyone is working as a team. In fact, crushing said in his current application, "In my opinion, [new events] will give the site more variety and more creativity." If you asked crushing a few years ago about new events, he probably would have hesitated. The fact that he can say "variety" now and not be lying about it shows that he has changed, and his behavior on SpongeCraft has been a huge support in proving that.

  30. He was my number one last time, and his newest application doesn't change my mind. His experience and levelheadedness makes me believe he would be a great mod.

  36. Honestly...and this goes out in general not to just crushing's app but everyone who says they can support new ideas and new events...I would like to see people list some examples as to these ideas and events they have in mind for the forums. Crushing coming up with new event ideas on SpongeCraft, I can see because he's a huge gamer and I know he's probably creative as heck when it comes to working with SpongeCraft.
  37.
  38. But it's easy to say I can come up with new ideas and events on an application. Why not list off examples of said ideas to prove that you can back up your application? That's why I'm far more impressed with Halibut's because I believe him when he says he can come up with new ideas. We hear him on the XAT and Skype often suggesting new things to try out.

  40. I'm just as skeptical with crushing's application as I was last time since I'm just sensing déjà vu with what he's stating and not really impressed. It has nothing to do with his culture, which I didn't know MDPP thanks for that lesson. It might have to do with me not seeing this "new side to crushing" on SpongeCraft since I can't access it on my laptop lol. But to me, SpongeCraft is SpongeCraft. This is the forums and I think they are two separate entities to moderate and being around crushing on not only here but all those years on TV.com, I just think he's fluffing his application that I don't completely buy it like everyone else seems to. Sorry. =\

  48. I came in here thinking I'd put an "Against" here, but I think he'd actually be a good mod. He's annoying as shit sometimes and is occasionally an obstructionist, but w/e.

  54. To be frank, after re-evaluating my last application review and my entire history with the dude, I think Crushing, in all honesty, is the most qualified for this position. Can anyone name anything remotely bad (outside of the usual being against change thing) about this guy? As far back as I know; he hasn't really been apart of any drama, he's been here nonstop since the day he joined this place almost five years ago, he gets along or is at least civil with most anybody, and he actually uses the report button. Passion, effort, understanding and honesty to a tee. To me, that should be more than enough to guarantee this man the position, not even counting all his years of modding experience (some of which I've seen for meself both on tv.com and my Oasis forum).

  62. ...Yeah, I guess. Very good application, seems like he understands what to do. Dude is still kinda dense and I feel like he’ll be unpredictable if he gets the job, but that was probably one of the better apps.

  77. Yeah...despite everything I said above and I still don't see the overwhelming amounts of support primarily because I don't use SpongeCraft and his application still feels like a rehash minus a few points that have already been pointed out in previous posts on my part. I believe everything you guys say about what he's doing with SpongeCraft because crushing knows his stuff when it comes to gaming and moderation when it comes to it. And yeah, the application was a literal rehash, but it's still a well worded rehash.
  78.
  79. My problem is that I've seen this guy for years and years going back to my tv.com days and that's still A LOT of years of me feeling like that he's dense and flaky saying that he will do this and that, but fall back into being the same old crushing who holds grudges, is against change, etc. Honestly...I'm not willing to give him my support over personal improvements that I'm just now starting to see when I know better for what I've seen close to eight years of being around him. If he keeps the personal improvements up come next mod election, I'll gladly support him if he keeps making his points as well as he did here, but I just want to see those points applied more from crushing around the forums.

  86. I thought that this was definitely his best app. I can tell he put the effort into it, and I liked seeing him discuss how his stance on accept change has developed. Plus, I've heard good things about him in relation to Spongecraft.
