  5. Star sat down on her bed. Blood was still dripping onto the floor from the cuts on her hand. Star's world was spinning out of control, all this time she had some hope that it wasn't over for her and Marco, but now she wasn't sure. In this little war they've been having, Jackie just brought out the big guns in the form of what Star had to admit were indeed fantastic breasts. She couldn't top those without magic, and even then Marco may not take too kindly to her coming on to him, he already rejected her advances once before. Star wiped away her tears with her uninjured hand.
  6. “This can't be the end, it just can't,” Star desperately mumbled to herself. She didn't hear Marco come up the stairs; he was trying to get her for breakfast.
  7. "Star, breakfast is ready," Marco shouted through the door.
  8. There was no answer.
  9. "Star, did you hear me?" he shouted again. Marco pressed his ear to her door, he could hear a sound he was all too familiar with, Star crying.
  10.
  11. "Oh geez," Marco thought to himself. He wasn't sure what was going on, but like hell he was just going to sit back and do nothing.
  12.
  13. "Star, I'm coming in!" Marco shouted again, he turned the doorknob, but the door was locked. Marco kicked it a few times but it wasn't budging. He took a deep breath, walked to the end of the hallway and then charged at the door. He rammed it with his body at full speed, but it didn't open.
  14.
  15. "Okay! Yeah, I can't do this dramatically…" Marco panted between breaths and rubbing his shoulder, it was a bad idea with a still injured back from yesterday.
  16.
  17. "Star, can you just open the door?" Marco shouted still out of breath.
  18.
  19. Star heard Marco, but she wasn't even sure if she could make eye contact with him anymore. Marco would know something is up almost immediately, he knew her too well. There was another bang at her door, guess he's still trying to check up on her.
  20.
  21. "Star, are you okay?"
  22. She didn’t answer
  23. "Star?"
  24. Again, she stayed quiet.
  25. "I heard you crying, what's going on?"
  26. Star tried to wipe away her tears. She was starting to feel the pain in her injured hand. Part of her wanted to just open a portal to Mewni and go home. At least there she wouldn't have to watch the boy she loves get freaky with some cheap blonde that, on Mewni, would be lucky to have a job as eye candy in a scummy tavern. She eyed her dimensional scissors on her nightstand; maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea after all. Outside Marco wasn't getting any responses and his Marco-senses were tingling like crazy. He backed up again and this time charged at the door, he hit it with everything he had and them some. Marco was pretty sure felt a few bones break, but the door swung open, too open it actually fell off its hinges. Marco landed inside the room and the first thing he noticed was a pool of blood on the carpet in front of him along with some pieces of glass and plastic. He jumped up in horror and followed the trail of blood drops to Star herself in the corner of her room, clutching the dimensional scissors in one hand, the one other dripped blood.
  27.
  28. "STAR WHAT'S GOING ON?!" Marco shouted. He got no reply; she didn’t even turn around to look at him.
  29.
  30. "WHO? WHO DID THIS TO YOU?! " Marco asked, trying to remain calm. "Was it Ludo? Is he still here?" He approached her slowly; he wished he had his first aid kit with him.
  31.
  32. "Marco, please don't come in any closer...I can't do this right now," Star finally spoke.
  33.
  34. "Can't do what? What’s happening?" Marco asked. He approached her again; she cut a hole in reality with the scissors in her hands. The blue glow of the portal lit up the room more than the early morning sun did.
  35.
  36. "Watching you two, I can't deal with it. Tell Jackie she won, I got the message loud and clear and in high resolution!" Star said, letting out a few sobs between words.
  37.
  38. Marco was dumbfounded; everything was fine a short while ago. Okay, well, awkward but fine, and he still wasn't sure what had happened to change that.
  39.
  40. "D-did Jackie do that to you?" Marco said pointing at her hand. He couldn't believe he just asked that but it made more sense than anything he's witnessed in the last few minutes.
  41.
  42. "No, and its not important either, just remember to tell Jackie what I said, okay? I trust you with my last request, Marco Diaz, Knight of Mewni," Star said weakly as she began to walk into the portal. "Bye Marco, I'll miss you more than you know."
  43. She jumped into the portal, all without turning to make eye contact with Marco. At least she tried; almost her entire body was in the portal before something grabbed her wrist.
  44.
  45. "Wait!" It was Marco he grabbed onto Star.
  46.
  47. "That's it, you get a little jealous and you're just going to leave me alone?" Marco told her. "I thought you were better than that!"
  48.
  49. "Marco let me go, please!" Star said looking into the swirling blue abyss of the portal.
  50.
  51. "I don't want to let you go, you are my best friend, my life was nothing before you got here! Even through all the bad times I don't regret any of it because the good times were so great!" Marco said, trying not to cry. This morning had just become a roller coaster of feels for him and he wanted off Mr. Bones Wild ride, but not without his friend.
  52.
  53. "Marco, please just let me go. It will better for you in the long run," Star cried, beginning to fight his grip.
  54.
  55. "You don't know that! You make a lot of mistakes still, and this is one of them!" Marco replied.
  56.
  57. "Marco, I just can't-" but Marco despite being in a lot of pain yanked her out of the portal's entrance. The portal then fizzled out of existence; guess it was opened for too long, Marco figured.
  58.
  59. "No! Let me go! Let me go! Marco, just let me go, please...let me go…" Star sobbed as the portal faded away into nothingness. Marco just hugged Star as she finally turned and cried to into his chest. He will ask for answers some other time, for now his friend needs him.
  60.
  61. Star eased her grip on the dimensional scissors, as she felt Marco's embrace. They hit the marble floor as they fell from her hands with a loud clank sound.
  62.
  63. Blood was still dripping from her lacerated hand; it patted softly and soundlessly on the hard ground.
