- Colton and the Fair
- As the Ferris Wheel turned; Colton looked up.
- He pondered things as he sipped from his cup.
- Suddenly a clown wandered up to him and honked his nose.
- It was Pietro; his cheeks all aglow!
- “What is the problem friend?” the little clown asked.
- “I cannot decide. This is the matter;
- Do I buy cotton candy or sugar-coated batter?”
- The clown thought for a bit
- And suddenly jumped.
- “My friend, just sit.
- My idea has me pumped!”
- The sheep ran away,
- Leaving poor Colton thinking.
- “What a strange day.”
- And he continued drinking.
- Again, he was deep in thought;
- When suddenly; “Splat!”
- Colton’s cup suddenly dropped.
- Pietro giggled “How was that?”
- “I couldn’t get you cotton candy
- Or dough that was fried,
- But I got what was handy.
- It was a custard-cream pie!”
- Colton’s pie-covered face suddenly smiled.
- Pieto giggled again and ran away.
- The horse looked at the Ferris Wheel again.
- “What a strange day.”
