  9. NOTE:
  10. Flashing an "i" firmware onto an "a" phone will NOT give you "i" (e.g. UK, HK, T-Mobile USA) 3G
  11. support on your "a" phone.
  12. Vice versa: Flashing an "a" firmware onto your "i" phone will NOT give you "a" 3G support (e.g. AT&T USA, Rogers Canada) on your "i" phone.
  13. All firmwares after v2.x contain BOTH SOFTWARE portions for "a" and "i" radios. Therefore, you can flash ANY v2.x firmware onto ANY phone and have 3G support in your zone. This is useful if you want HK customizations on a North American phone or UK customizations on an HK phone.
  14. However, the HARDWARE radios are FIXED. You cannot add 3G support for another zone.
  15. Check beneath your battery for your phone's version ("a" or "i"), if you don't know.
  16.
  17. "a" phone:
  18. "i" firmware in an "i" zone = No 3G.

  24. "i" firmware in an "i" zone = 3G.
  25. "i" firmware in an "a" zone = No 3G.
