Asama: Ahh, Kamui-sama, out for a stroll?
Kamui: Yes. I see you’re sitting under a large tree, but what are you doing?
Asama: Nothing in particular, but if it had to be something, I’m listening to the sound of the forest.
Kamui: The sounds of the forest?
Asama: Yes. Ah, Kamui-sama, could you be quiet for a moment?
Kamui: Oh, yes.
Asama: …
Kamui: You’ve gotten very quiet, Asama-san. What exactly are you waiting for? …! I can hear birds calling from somewhere. …They sound so lovely.
Asama: So you can hear them. If you listen closely, you can hear many of the other sounds of the forest.
Kamui: … You’re right. I can hear a babbling brook, and the swaying of the trees… It’s very calming.
Asama: …Do you like them?
Kamui: Yes, they’re beautiful noises. I especially like the singing of the birds.
Asama: Ah, yes, those birds are very wary of other creatures, so you have to erase your presence or else you won’t be able to hear them.
Kamui: I see… I’m sorry for interrupting your listening.
Asama: No, this world is full of ignorant people. There’s no helping your situation, you were raised in such a way that you know absolutely nothing of the outside world.
Kamui: Ugh…! For some reason, my heart hurts…! A-Anyway, you must know a lot about birds, Asama-san, since you know what kind of birds make those cries.
 Asama: Seeing as I’ve spent a great portion of my life training in the mountains and forests, I know much more than others would on these sorts of things. I’ve traveled to every sacred mountain, so I can think of these sorts of areas as my own little gardens.
Kamui: I see… You must know a lot of things, Asama-san.
Asama: Well, compared to you, at the very least.
Kamui: Urgh, my heart hurts again…!
Asama: But I think it’s a fine thing to be able to learn so many things as well.
Kamui: Huh?
Asama: Ahh, it’s already this late. As much as I’d like to keep relaxing here, Hinoka-sama will have called for me by now. Excuse me, Kamui-sama.
Kamui: Ah, all right. …Was that last thing that Asama-san said supposed to be a good thing? …I’d like to talk with him some more.

Kamui: Hello there, Asama-san. Here to listen to the birds again?
Asama: Ahh, Kamui-sama. And are you on another little stroll?
Kamui: Ergh… Sorry, I think… Anyway… would it be all right if I listened to the birds with you?
Asama: Hm? Of course. I don’t mind whatever you do as long as you’re quiet.
Kamui: T-Thank you! I wanted to be able to hear the birds singing again… That, and just being able to spend time like this is quite relaxing.
Asama: I agree with you on that point. It also takes me back to my days of my training in the mountains. …!

Asama: Yes, it’s a bear. Did you think it was anything else? Well, bears live in forests, so seeing them is a daily occurrence.  In my days of training, I’d often encounter them and have to fight them.
Kamui: I-I see… But you’re so amazing, Asama-san. If I saw a bear, I’d run away. Thank you very much for saving me.
Asama: It was nothing. Plus, I didn’t do it to save you, so you don’t need to thank me.
Kamui: O-Oh, all right…
Asama: It must’ve been our lucky day to run into a bear like this. Now we can have an extravagant meal of bear stew tonight.
Kamui: B-Bear stew…?!
Asama: Oh, you’ve never had bear stew before? How unfortunate. It’s very tasty, actually.
Kamui: I see…?
Asama: Well, I suppose I’ll start preparing the bear now.
Kamui: Huh? Right here? W-Wait a minute! Asama-san, stop, stop!
Asama: Oh, so the sight of me preparing bear meat is too much for you to handle? It’s strange that you can handle corpses and blood on the battlefield, but not here. Oh well, if you don’t want to see it, then close your eyes.
Kamui: No, that’s not the problem here… Please, just don’t start until I say you can! I’m going to go somewhere else!

Kamui: Hello, Asama-san. I knew you’d be back under this tree. I wanted to say thank you for saving me from that bear the other day.
Asama: Ah, Kamui-sana. I thought I said that you shouldn’t need to worry about it.
Kamui: But the bear stew was so delicious, and I thought I’d make sure I said my thanks properly… Well... even though I ran away when you were preparing the meat.
Asama: Ah, the bear stew… But everyone had some of it, I don’t see why you in particular need to give me thanks.
Kamui: Well, I wanted to say it anyway. If you hadn’t been there, we wouldn’t have been able to eat something that delicious.
Asama: Hm, I see…
Kamui: By the way, are you going to spend the rest of the day relaxing here?
Asama: Yes. If I could, I would spend my entire life just like this. Living a relaxed life is far better than being caught up in meaningless battles.
Kamui: I see… That seems like something you would say. It would be nice if the fighting would end… but I think it’s necessary to fight to protect the people that are important to me. I wouldn’t want to see any of my friends or family feeling sad…
Asama: Hum… I see. Well, you do have a point. I would be sad if a comrade of mine died…
Kamui: Huh?!
Asama: Why do you seem so surprised?

Asama: Well, I don’t mind if that’s what you think of me, Kamui-sama, but because I wanted to end this war, the only thing I could do was come here. I’ll see what I can do about living up to your evaluation of me.
Kamui: T-Thank you!
Asama: But you’re being a bit of a bother right now. If that’s all you have to say, then please be quiet.
Kamui: Ah, yes, I’ll be quiet, so please let me keep sitting with you.

Kamui: Asama-san…! I knew you’d be here.
Asama: Kamui-sama, what’s the rush?
Kamui: Erm… I’d heard that you’d been acting strange recently, so I came looking for you.
Asama: I don’t think there’s anything particularly strange about me, I’ve just been lacking a little sleep.
Kamui: Lacking sleep…? You can’t sleep well at night?

Asama: Yes. Since you liked the bear stew so much, I thought I would give you a haori [kimono overcoat] made out of bear fur, but I became so caught up in the project that I went without sleep.
Kamui: A-All for me…? I’m sorry.
Asama: No, no, it’s all finished, so there’s nothing to worry about. Here, don’t be shy, take it. It’s warm, and can also offer you some defense.
Kamui: T-Thank you… I’ve never worn anything like this before.
Asama: I see. I suppose you could say this is a first for me too.
Kamui: What is?
Asama: I’ve never made that many things for other people, and this is the first time I’ve ever had someone be so happy to be given something, and it makes me want to give you more. I usually don’t care very much for other people, so this is a very peculiar feeling for me. Kamui-sama… It seems that you’re very special to me.

Asama: Yes. I like you. I want to be with you not because I just happen to, but because I choose to. May I?
Kamui: …Yes. I’m so happy… It must be because I like you as well, Asama-san.
Asama: Ahaha. You really are a strange one. You silly goose, what are you expecting from asking other people to explain your feelings? …Even though I’m usually indifferent to the feelings of others, whenever I see your face, I can see how you can barely contain your love for me.
Kamui: Oh, don’t tease me! B-But, you’re right… I do like you a lot. I’m looking forward to being with you…
