  1. Hanabi rules summary (no variant) 4 players link: http://keldon.net/hanabi/
  2.
  3. There are 5 suits in the deck: Blue Green Yellow Red Purple. Each suit has three copies of 1s, two copies of 2s, 3s and 4s, and one copy of a 5.
  4.
  5. In a four player game, each player is dealt four cards. They are not allowed to see their own hand; instead, they can see all other players' hands. The goal is to assist one another to play down 5 stacks of cards in order (from 1 to 5 for every suit). In the web client, turns are passed on in a clockwise direction, and new cards are drawn to the left of the hand (a white shade indicates this).
  6.
  7. Each turn, a player may perform one of these actions:
  8.
  9. - Give a clue. This will use up one of the table's clue quotas and indicate the presence of cards of either a specific value (from 1 to 5) or a colour (BGYRP) to one other player. Cards will be marked with a small white circle on their corners when hinted. This will indicate to them all cards that correspond to the hint (complete information, i.e. when hinting to a player that s/he has green cards, all green cards will be indicated) and the hints cannot be lies nor hints of absence (i.e. hinting that someone has 0 blue cards is not allowed).
  10.
  11. - Discard a card. Dragging a card to the bottom right corner of the screen (where the trash can is) will discard the card and reveal it. This will restore one use of a clue.
  12.
  13. - Play a card to the centre. If you are confident that your card is valid for play (i.e. the card is in sequence for its suit, such as playing a red 2 when a red 1 is already played), you can drag that card to the centre of the table. It does not need to be dragged to any specific stack. However, if the card turns out to be invalid, it will be sent to the discard pile (without restoring a clue) and will be recorded as a strike.
  14.
  15. Completing a stack (playing a 5 successfully) will give a bonus clue to the table.
  16.
  17. The game ends when:
  18. - all five stacks are completed. This gives the maximum score of 25.
  19. - the table receives three strikes.
  20. - the 50-card deck is completely drawn. Each player, including the one drawing the last card, will have one final action before the game ends.
  21.
  22.
  23. tip:
  24. -Mousing over cards and the clues log will also reveal which cards correspond to that clue and vice versa, and also negative clues (e.g. all non-indicated cards during a turn where blue cards were indicated will be preserved, and show up with a red border when mousing over the clue log, showing that they are not-blue).
  25.
  26. -In general, discard unsignaled old cards (on the right of the hand) before newer cards. This is because they are likely to be irrelevant or useless, as your teammates have not given you any signals about it despite it being shown in your hand for a relatively longer amount of time.
