You might consider advising your client to refrain from libeling me
further. She knows full well that I helped several people including
her buddy Trivette and she also knows at least a part of what that
costed me in time and targeting. She doesn't know that when you were
ready to set up her defense fund the first conversations were between
Penley and I - presumably you first. Also, if it's true that you told
her I wanted to get raided in order to promote the book - a book that
didn't exist in any form the only time you and I met in April of 2011
- then you need to stop talking to your clients about the people who
got your clients a top notch lawyer like yourself. That's something I
shouldn't have to tell you, but at any rate I'm assuming that she is
misrepresenting what you told her or just flat-out lying, as you know
better than that.

I am very reluctant to hit back against anyone who's suffered at hands
of FBI like she has, but the other day was second major incident I
know about in which she attempted to discredit me and destroy my
reputation despite I having done nothing at all for her to be upset
about. I will not release any e-mails involving specifics of her case
but I'm very close to releasing everything else if that's what I have
to do to show that she is lying and, what's more, also making claims
about things she doesn't know about. Not sure if you saw the first
round of those tweets about me a few months ago but you obviously saw
and responded to the more recent ones. I tried to talk to her about
this the first time but she hung up on me after 30 seconds, so perhaps
you can explain this to her. Thanks.

By the way, not that it matters but the fund raising site was a complete bust. Cost more to get it up and running then generated. In terms of other "issues" in court will take a closer look later.

Sorry to hear that about the site, although I'm not surprised to hear
how little people contributed; apparently it's easier to just watch
others sacrifice and cheer them on with Twitter than to actually put
down $10 to help them. Also do remember that as I mentioned last year,
Jay Liederman and some of the lawyers he helped arrange for others
(including a couple NLG folks that he had to personally bring in due
to incompetence of Heidi et al, who were more interested in going to
NYT to talk about how swell they are then actually making sure the
people they demanded I send them actually got advice in first two
weeks after raid). Likely Jay and others will have something or other
that may be of use to Mercedes' case, but I imagine you've probably
reached out to them since then. If not let me know and I'll put you in
touch.

Also was sorry to hear last year from John that you were upset about
me not returning to your office a second time when I was in town last
year. As I told him, I had something very serious come up and was not
able to make the trip back over there from where I was staying. If
whatever you needed to tell me still applies or is important -
assuming it was since you asked me to come back - we can make
arrangements to speak in a way that is immune to gov tapping (yes, we
have a couple tricks up our sleeves even in spite of federal obsession
with having access to everything). Let me know. And again, in a way
that will allow her to save face and thus be less inclined to attack
me yet again, please handle Mercedes. Thanks.
