<XSI> I remember in Wurm on the newbie/free island

<XSI> So the guy was like "I'm leaving, want my stuff"
<Miauw> i walked into a forest and i got chased by an incredibly ripped boar
<XSI> And then I had like a palace in the middle of a bunch of slums
<XSI> With cattle and a farm

<XSI> And I went about conscripting newbies to work for me
<XSI> And gave them seeds and tools as reward
<XSI> And they're all
<XSI> "Thank you massa"
<XSI> "I work good massa"
<XSI> And I just sat around watching my improv empire
<Miauw> so you basically became the newbie don

<XSI> At one point I had half the shacks around me populated by people who all had regular employment with me

<XSI> With one guy ordered to mine ore, and one to cart ore back to my place
<XSI> Then I had a third make tools out of the ore

<XSI> I kept 7 of them, and gave them each one tool
<XSI> And they loved it

<XSI> After farming resulted in seeds and food, I began to add seeds and food to the payroll, because I'm not a dick and that way they get seeds and food too
<Miauw> That really is amazing
<XSI> The final thing I had on there
<XSI> Was when I hired some people as scouts
<XSI> And had them go out to find places for homesteads
<XSI> And senior employees were given 10x10 worth of land and a mule
<XSI> (Well, a cow, since there were no mules)
<XSI> But yeah
<XSI> It was

<XSI> I played it solo at the time
<XSI> Then a group came along, offered to pay the monthly fee for Wurm
<XSI> If I'd join them

<Miauw> you gave people fiefs

<XSI> Anyway, I passed my holdings at the time off to someone who started questioning why they only got one tool when I kept 7
<XSI> Good timing there
<XSI> "Oh, you're doubting it? Good. I'm moving anyway, here's the keys"
<XSI> (Less than a week later, I heard the guy refused to pay anyone for their work except the ore miner/carter, since he made the tools and only needed those)
<XSI> (The fence collapsed and the farms were pillaged and animals stolen)
<XSI> (I made an alt and quoted Ayn Rand at him)
