  8. [15:08] <Callie> Raider culture is really awful if you're not a psychotic. A lot of raiders wouldn't be if they could make a living in other ways.
  9. [15:09] <Somber> So idealistic.
  10. [15:09] <Somber> Anyway.
  11. [15:09] <@Naphtha> I suspect that in the long term the raider society would die out for the same reasons that raiding warbands largely died out in europe. A combination of it being easier to trade than raid, and that in the long term the established societies with reliable food and water will grow faster than the raiders and have more time and effectiveness to fight back against them.
  12. [15:10] <Callie> So I'm an optimist. So sue me. It seems pretty clear to me that the ponies of equestria are, on a whole, better natured than us humans.
  13. [15:10] <Somber> Except that gardens just provided them with reliable food and water as well.
  14. [15:10] <@Naphtha> Especially since in FoE most settlements are already designed to be defensive since they've been fighting raiders for so long. And now those settlements no longer have to contend with radioactive water and soil to feed themselves.
  15. [15:10] <@Naphtha> How many raiders do you think know anything about farming?
  16. [15:10] <Strifer> Give it a generation or two and raiders will be but a memory
  17. [15:11] <@Naphtha> It'll be an issue for a while. But I don't think they'll remain raiders for very long.
  18. [15:11] <Callie> Naphtha, I think a lot of raiders became raiders to put food on the table.
  19. [15:11] <@Naphtha> They might remain -foreign powers-, but not raiders.
  20. [15:11] <Callie> If dirtfarming isn't enough, send pa off to join the warband and bring in a share of loot.
  21. [15:11] <@Naphtha> Callie: Some of them, for sure.
  22. [15:11] <Somber> Ahhhh.... I think I understand the difference. You're talking about little cells of isolated raiders, right?
  23. [15:12] <Candlelight_Sonata> well, the issue is that with raider culture, psychosis has little to do with it. It's about anti-social behaviour that is learned until the entire society operates on a level that 'normal' individuals wouldn't exactly understand. You accept that doing harm to another intentionally so you can survive is ok. When the Gardens go off, yeah, that's less of an option, but it doesn't mean that those people are going to cha
  24. [15:12] <Somber> I'm thinking the NCR and Enclave will push them to organize.
  25. [15:12] <@Naphtha> You'd probably get a few holdouts like the Khans were in FoNV-era. But they'd probably not be numerous or powerful enough.
  26. [15:12] <Callie> I'm sure they will.
  27. [15:12] <Callie> The Khans are doing well compared to the other gang powers from California.
  28. [15:12] <Somber> Then it becomes a political issue.
  29. [15:12] <Candlelight_Sonata> more or less
  30. [15:13] <Somber> Well, only because the vault dweller in FO2.
  31. [15:13] <Callie> The Vipers and the Jackals used to be big, powerful gangs, at least as strong as the Khans, if not as strong at personal combat as the Khans.
  32. [15:13] <Candlelight_Sonata> after enough raiding groups become wiped out, raiders who didn't want to give up on their pasts would have to organize or move away from areas of NCR control.
  33. [15:13] <Strifer> Heh, if the raiders organize then they'll still need to learn how to farm eventually. You dont keep an army going from pure scavaging, not for long
  34. [15:13] * Jackelmandingo is now known as Harris
  35. [15:13] <Callie> Yeah
  36. [15:14] * Callie holds up the example of the White Legs.
  37. [15:14] <Somber> Or just enslave a few settlements to provide food for them in exchange for not being slaughtered.
  38. [15:14] <Somber> Anywho.
  39. [15:14] <Strifer> That works too.
  40. [15:14] <Callie> Salt-Upon-Wounds /knew/ that the White Legs couldn't last as a pure, raiding tribe. But that's all the tribe knew how to do. They couldn't live off the land. Their only chance for long term survival was as incorporation into the Legion.
  41. [15:15] <Somber> Just an idea kicking around in my head.
  42. [15:16] <Somber> So. Ready to continue on Isla Del Sol?
  43. [15:16] * Candlelight_Sonata nods
  44. [15:16] * Naphtha is as ready as she's going to get.
  45. [15:16] * Callie shares music
  46. [15:16] <Strifer> It could happen, but Im seeing the internal struggle for leadership etc would eventually make the raiders crumble. And raiders dropping out from the bigger groups, many raiders do it cause they can fuck around with people that dont fight back. Against anotehr army though..
  47. [15:16] <Callie> http://youtu.be/iVP2qnCMcXw?t=2m48s
  48. [15:16] <Strifer> Coffee is done, im good to go
  49. [15:17] <Harris> Good as I get right now.
  50. [15:19] <Strifer> These "bandits" are totaly one of the sides.
  51. [15:20] * Candlelight_Sonata grumbles about societal injustices and not being able to fix the root of the problem
  52. [15:21] <Somber> :3
  53. [15:21] <Somber> Determine the root. No one can ever agree on that.
  54. [15:21] <Strifer> Ack!
  55. [15:21] <Strifer> Coffee, too hot!
  56. [15:22] <Callie> The problem is the even if you determine the root, it may be impossible to fix the problem by fixing the root because of other changes that have happened subsequently. Injustice begets injustice, and all sides get blood on their hands.
  57. [15:23] * Callie points at the problems surrounding the Gaza strip as a real world example.
  58. [15:23] <Strifer> http://pantzar.tumblr.com/post/92937695208/im-fooling-about-with-humanoids-strifer-isnt-100 Posting this here too, cause its relevant.. And stuff. <.<'
  59. [15:23] * Candlelight_Sonata giggles
  60. [15:24] <Candlelight_Sonata> And I know that, Callie.
  61. [15:25] <Callie> 1d100 sneak 50
  62. [15:25] <Callie> ...crap
  63. [15:25] <Somber> no bones
  64. [15:26] <Somber> can't you invite bones into a room?
  65. [15:26] <Strifer> Yeah, sec
  66. [15:26] <Callie> have to find him first
  67. [15:26] <Harris> Bones is not on.
  68. [15:26] <Callie> Exactly the problem
  69. [15:26] <Strifer> Sec

  89. [15:29] * Mad_Modd pets Strifer
  90. [15:29] <Candlelight_Sonata> XD
  91. [15:30] <Harris> Nope, nut thanks anyway
  92. [15:30] * Strifer hugs FillyLuck
  93. [15:30] * FillyLuck hugs Strifer!
  94. [15:30] <Harris> but*
  95. [15:30] <Callie> So?
  96. [15:30] <Candlelight_Sonata> 1d100 Sneak 40
  97. [15:30] <FillyLuck> Candlelight_Sonata, Sneak 40: 12 [1d100=12]
  98. [15:30] <Strifer> Somber: I guess we're rolling sneak then? xD
  99. [15:30] <Calamine> YAY! The Spirits answered Calamine!
  100. [15:30] <Somber> If you're trying to sneak
  101. [15:30] * Callie rolled sneak because she started sneaking
  102. [15:30] <Strifer> This will be awesome
  103. [15:30] <Somber> Also, are you sneaking along the track or in the jungle?
  104. [15:31] <Strifer> 1d100 TN 16
  105. [15:31] <FillyLuck> Strifer, TN 16: 4 [1d100=4]
  106. [15:31] <Strifer> lol
  107. [15:31] <Strifer> ahahahaaha
  108. [15:31] <Calamine> WOW!
  109. [15:31] * Callie is sneaking alongside the tracks, through the underbrush
  110. [15:31] <Somber> That was awesome.
  111. [15:31] * Strifer brushes her should. Aint nothin.
  112. [15:31] * Candlelight_Sonata is in the underbrush along the tracks as well
  113. [15:32] <Callie> No no no, you didn't answer my question Candlelight_Sonata. What's wrong with the skills Callie has tagged?
  114. [15:32] <Somber> BTW, +10 to the roll.
  115. [15:32] <Harris> 1d100 Sneak 40+10=50
  116. [15:32] <FillyLuck> Harris, Sneak 40+10=50: 82 [1d100=82]
  117. [15:32] <Harris> @.@
  118. [15:32] <Calamine> She did answer Callie
  119. [15:33] <Calamine> She said it's because you both have the exact same TAG skills
  120. [15:33] <Callie> Yeah, and I asked "So?"
  121. [15:33] <Callie> Which is the question I would like an answer to, please.
  122. [15:33] <Somber> It's kinda like having two halfling rogues in the party.
  123. [15:33] <Candlelight_Sonata> Nothing, Callie. I was just amused that you took the exact same skillset, so we have 2 dedicated sneak, speach, and firearms characters.
  124. [15:34] <Candlelight_Sonata> which, I guess is ok because I've been sort of dumping stuff into science so I can actually utilize my spells
  125. [15:34] <Somber> Only one is a forest halfling and the other is a plains halfling.
  126. [15:34] <Callie> wait, which is which?
  127. [15:34] * Candlelight_Sonata is probably going to give up on speech because the dicebots hate her
  128. [15:34] * Strifer puts all the rogues in cardboard boxes. Yes yes, you're both adorbs
  129. [15:35] <Strifer> So!
  130. [15:35] <Strifer> We're sneaking along
  131. [15:35] <Strifer> Napth is best sneaker, she dosnt even touch the ground
  132. [15:35] <Somber> I need a perception check -2.
  133. [15:35] <Candlelight_Sonata> 1d10 PER 4
  134. [15:35] <FillyLuck> Candlelight_Sonata, PER 4: 6 [1d10=6]
  135. [15:36] <Callie> 1d10 PER 7'
  136. [15:36] <FillyLuck> Callie, PER 7': 5 [1d10=5]
  137. [15:36] <Candlelight_Sonata> I find... my thoughts
  138. [15:36] <Harris> 1d10 PER 10-2
  139. [15:36] <FillyLuck> Harris, PER 10-2: 4 [1d10=4]
  140. [15:36] <Callie> hey... I just had a thought
  141. [15:36] <Callie> If I rolled a critical success speech roll, could Callie do her own theme music and give herself a sneak bonus therby?
  142. [15:37] * Callie is thinking silly thoughts
  143. [15:37] <Calamine> 1d10 PER 4
  144. [15:37] <FillyLuck> Calamine, PER 4: 5 [1d10=5]
  145. [15:37] <Candlelight_Sonata> XD
  146. [15:37] <Candlelight_Sonata> mission impossible theme
  147. [15:37] <Candlelight_Sonata> XD
  148. [15:37] <Callie> Or Pink Panther theme. That would be good too.
  149. [15:37] <@Naphtha> 1d10 Per 6-2
  150. [15:37] <FillyLuck> Naphtha, Per 6-2: 3 [1d10=3]
  151. [15:38] <Callie> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv-sKP17xTw
  152. [15:38] <Strifer> lol
  153. [15:39] <Callie> Emperor's New Groove was a much better movie than it really had any right to be.
  154. [15:40] <Somber> easily distracted
  155. [15:41] <Somber> 1d10
  156. [15:41] <FillyLuck> Somber, 1d10: 10 [1d10=10]
  157. [15:41] <Strifer> Boom, headshot
  158. [15:41] * Harris has an Explosives of 20. "Any one got a better skill."
  159. [15:41] <Strifer> I dont think anyone even has it tagged?
  160. [15:41] <Callie> 17 over here
  161. [15:41] * Candlelight_Sonata has a 16
  162. [15:41] <Somber> Darn...
  163. [15:41] * Naphtha has explosives 13.
  164. [15:41] <Strifer> If it comes to it, throw a rock and run!
  165. [15:41] * Harris sighs
  166. [15:42] <@Naphtha> Hm. We only have one flyer now don't we?
  167. [15:42] <Somber> 2
  168. [15:42] * Callie flies
  169. [15:42] * Callie is a flier
  170. [15:42] <Candlelight_Sonata> 3
  171. [15:42] <Somber> 3
  172. [15:42] <Candlelight_Sonata> Harris, me, and Callie
  173. [15:42] * Harris has a bad wing, can only glide
  174. [15:42] <@Naphtha> Oh, that's not so bad.
  175. [15:42] <Candlelight_Sonata> oh
  176. [15:43] <Strifer> And Naphtha is in the "throwable" size.
  177. [15:43] <@Naphtha> So that leaves... Strifer and Calamine needing a lift.
  178. [15:43] <Candlelight_Sonata> I'm not throwing Naphtha
  179. [15:43] <Callie> wat
  180. [15:43] <Candlelight_Sonata> I might throw Strifer. >.>
  181. [15:43] <Callie> Naphtha is not a "throwable"
  182. [15:43] <Callie> do not throw the dragon
  183. [15:43] <Somber> Or someone can try and make an agility check at an unknown penalty to disarm it before it goes off.
  184. [15:43] * Calamine thinks. Can I ask spirits of the air for a lift? Even if it's just for a temp effect like Light on you Hooves.
  185. [15:44] <Somber> After all, you don't know how good an explosive it is. Might go off in two seconds. Might go off instantly.
  186. [15:44] <Strifer> Might all be duds!
  187. [15:44] <Strifer> :O
  188. [15:44] * Strifer goes to sit on one, totes
  189. [15:44] <Somber> And since no one has it tagged, no one knows.
  190. [15:45] <Somber> And strifer, you can go around if you want to try and push your way through the jungle.
  191. [15:45] <Candlelight_Sonata> Going through the jungle might be safer.
  192. [15:45] <Candlelight_Sonata> or there could be a claymore in there
  193. [15:45] <Calamine> Somber? Can I try asking Air Spirits?
  194. [15:46] <Callie> we could try asking the spirit of the mine itself.
  195. [15:46] <Callie> Spirits. Fucking. Everywhere.
  196. [15:46] <Somber> Roll SA and a single mine isn't going to have an awakened spirit unless you have a shaman waking it up.
  197. [15:46] <@Naphtha> Oops. Shouldn't have that 'before' at the end there.
  198. [15:47] <Somber> kk
  199. [15:47] <Somber> So Harris
  200. [15:47] <Somber> Are you using agility or explosives?
  201. [15:47] <Calamine> 1d10 SA 5
  202. [15:47] <FillyLuck> Calamine, SA 5: 10 [1d10=10]
  203. [15:47] <Calamine> NOPE!@
  204. [15:47] <Calamine> FillyLuck is worse than Bones for me.
  205. [15:47] <Harris> I'll use AGI
  206. [15:47] <Callie> wait wait
  207. [15:48] <Callie> What is this "SA"?
  208. [15:48] <Harris> 1d10 AGI 7
  209. [15:48] <FillyLuck> Harris, AGI 7: 2 [1d10=2]
  210. [15:48] <@Naphtha> Spiritual Awareness.
  211. [15:48] <Callie> Is a trait. Not a score...? Last I checked.
  212. [15:48] <Callie> Has something changed since the last time I looked? Has Somber given us a score?
  213. [15:49] <Somber> It's a score from 1-10 to make spirits pay attention to you.
  214. [15:49] <Calamine> It's a score.
  215. [15:49] <Somber> Then you can use barter and speech.
  216. [15:49] <Calamine> It's based on your CHA/2 ROunded up
  217. [15:49] <Somber> Otherwise the spirits tend to ignore you.
  218. [15:50] <Strifer> 1d100 TN 40
  219. [15:50] <FillyLuck> Strifer, TN 40: 31 [1d100=31]
  220. [15:50] <Callie> That's... Spirit /Affinity/
  221. [15:51] <Candlelight_Sonata> are we really arguing semantics?
  222. [15:51] <Candlelight_Sonata> @.@
  223. [15:52] <Harris> 1d10 AGI 7
  224. [15:52] <FillyLuck> Harris, AGI 7: 1 [1d10=1]
  225. [15:52] <Strifer> Dem rolls :D
  226. [15:52] <Harris> and got one more mine
  227. [15:52] <Callie> Yes, because as far as I can tell Spirit Affinity and being Spiritually Awakened are two separate things. This needs to be clarified.
  228. [15:53] <Callie> Perhaps characters with the Spiritually Awakened trait should gain a Spiritual Affinity score if they wouldn't already have one?
  229. [15:53] <@Naphtha> I was probably just wrong about the acronym.
  230. [15:53] <Callie> No, the initialisms are the same. "SA".
  231. [15:53] <Somber> Okay...
  232. [15:54] <Somber> Is this a thing we need to stop the game for?
  233. [15:54] <Callie> No, no.
  234. [15:54] <Calamine> No.
  235. [15:54] <Somber> Then afterwards please.
  236. [15:54] <Callie> I'm just troubled. After further reading, it looks like Spiritual Affinity only matters if you're trying to summon spirits that aren't present already, or trying to bind them into doing something.
  237. [15:54] <Callie> Bleh. Sorry, I was confused.
  238. [15:55] <@Naphtha> o/` I'll stop the game to melt with you! o/`
  239. [15:55] <Somber> BTW, tagged skills matter. Some folks won't be able to roll unless the skill is tagged.
  240. [15:55] <Harris> 1d10 PER 10
  241. [15:55] <FillyLuck> Harris, PER 10: 1 [1d10=1]
  242. [15:56] <Somber> agility.
  243. [15:56] <Somber> But I'll keep the roll.
  244. [15:56] <Harris> So if there just happens to be any thing out ther.
  245. [15:56] <Strifer> The rolls today
  246. [15:56] <Strifer> Woah
  247. [15:56] <Harris> 1d10 AGI 7
  248. [15:56] <FillyLuck> Harris, AGI 7: 6 [1d10=6]
  249. [15:58] <Strifer> Killer rolls, harris. WEll done
  250. [15:58] <Calamine> Yeah, seriously.
  251. [15:59] <Somber> 1d10
  252. [15:59] <FillyLuck> Somber, 1d10: 8 [1d10=8]
  253. [15:59] <Candlelight_Sonata> yes, well done Harris! ^_^
  254. [15:59] <Callie> Nicely freakin' done, Harris
  255. [16:00] <Strifer> theProblem with coffee is ... Brb bio!
  256. [16:03] <Harris> Can I roll for sneak a second time?
  257. [16:04] <Harris> 1d100 Sneak 40+10
  258. [16:04] <FillyLuck> Harris, Sneak 40+10: 77 [1d100=77]
  259. [16:05] <Harris> Wouldn't matter
  260. [16:05] <Strifer> Yay back
  261. [16:05] <Somber> So were folks trying to sneak around?

  550. [18:18] <Candlelight_Sonata> Strifer, why do I feel like that would be a turn on for Strifer?
  551. [18:19] <Harris> To bad Lazer is dead, was going to have some fun with this mare.
  552. [18:20] <Candlelight_Sonata> I just realised we have no unicorns in this party. I'm the only caster.
  553. [18:20] <Candlelight_Sonata> @.@
  554. [18:21] <Calamine> I can enchant stuff better as I become a better shaman to have spell like effects
  555. [18:23] * Candlelight_Sonata grumbles, wishes she could take more spells. At least a basic healing one, but doesn't know how that'd work. Here Naphtha, I have bandages for you! *spreads shadow tentacles* It might tickle.
  556. [18:24] * Callie is scared of Candlelight_Sonata
  557. [18:25] * Candlelight_Sonata is accidentally terrifying
  558. [18:26] <Somber> So, she's made her counter offer.
  559. [18:27] * Harris looks at the shadow tentacles "So you've played Nightspawn I see."
  560. [18:27] <Callie> That's... probably an awesome deal, actually. Depending on what the refugees think.
  561. [18:27] <Harris> And it's their best bet.
  562. [18:27] <Somber> Or so you guess.
  563. [18:28] <Callie> If they'll take it, I say we do it.
  564. [18:28] <Callie> We'll end up getting paid, and we'll have shifted the balance of power a bit.
  565. [18:28] <Somber> There are three other options you can explore.
  566. [18:29] <Candlelight_Sonata> 1. going it alone and burning the cart, trying to lie our way out. 2. helping link up the refugees and the Colonel's men, or 3. take the supplies?
  567. [18:30] <Candlelight_Sonata> sorry, #3 isn't an option.
  568. [18:30] <Callie> 3 is totally an option
  569. [18:30] <Callie> we could take them and run
  570. [18:30] <Harris> Linking them up with the colonel's troops where so we could get the supplies.
  571. [18:30] <Callie> not that I'm saying we should, just that it is
  572. [18:30] <Harris> With out having to kill them.
  573. [18:31] <Somber> Talk to the baron's men. Explain the situation to Coupon. Or just take the cart back and not implicate anyone in stealing the supplies.
  574. [18:31] <Harris> ^^^^
  575. [18:32] <Candlelight_Sonata> I guess we could do that, too.
  576. [18:32] <Candlelight_Sonata> I like that option #3 better than my option #3.
  577. [18:33] * Callie laughs at his stupid, horrible joke.
  578. [18:33] <Somber> It's possible.
  579. [18:34] <Somber> Difficult, but possible.
  580. [18:34] <@Naphtha> One assumes, considering that we were explicitly told not to talk to them, that coupon knows or at least suspects who stole them.
  581. [18:34] <Candlelight_Sonata> yeah... which also implicates that the Silvers know who took them
  582. [18:35] <@Naphtha> Either he's trying to cover for them ("Don't talk to them" so we wouldn't learn where they came from) or he's actively working against them ("Don't talk to them" so we'll kill them all).
  583. [18:35] <Candlelight_Sonata> yeah
  584. [18:36] <Harris> Her Calamine
  585. [18:36] <Calamine> What? Oh!
  586. [18:38] <Somber> Up to you which way you want to go.
  587. [18:38] <Somber> :3
  588. [18:39] * Callie will totally remember to do that for you, Candlelight_Sonata, just needs to ask somber about it more frequently.
  589. [18:39] <Candlelight_Sonata> I'm... inclined to just bring the empty cart back, at this point.
  590. [18:40] <Candlelight_Sonata> bring the cart back, Silvers at least don't lose out on a valuable transport, just say it was abandoned, empty, and there were no bandits.
  591. [18:40] <Somber> There is that.
  592. [18:40] <Somber> Whatever you folks decide.
  593. [18:41] <Strifer> Works for me
  594. [18:41] <Candlelight_Sonata> extend the offer still to Hoe, but with the caveate that I don't think it's a good idea. But it might be for some of the young bucks and mares that are itching for revenge
  595. [18:41] <Callie> so, make deal with devils, burn crates to make look like attack, or take cart back (empty or not)
  596. [18:41] <Candlelight_Sonata> just take the empty cart back
  597. [18:41] <Somber> Or explore other options with Coupon and Baron.
  598. [18:41] <Candlelight_Sonata> I like the commonfolk. Of the island, they're the most abused.
  599. [18:42] <Candlelight_Sonata> well, that and the island itself
  600. [18:42] <Strifer> Just dont get too atatched, we want to get off the island.. ;)
  601. [18:43] <Harris> We take the cart back with what ever is left.
  602. [18:43] <@Naphtha> Isn't it interesting how the most abused are the ones we immediately want to help without considering why they're in that position. I suppose it's because we come from a society where equality is such an important tennant of our world-view.
  603. [18:44] * Candlelight_Sonata shrugs. "Probably don't help I work with folks like the commonfolk daily. I know my judgement in this matter is rather skewed."
  604. [18:45] <Callie> Candlelight_Sonata, wrong channel?\
  605. [18:45] <Strifer> If we did what Strifer wanted we'd all be shot by now. \o/
  606. [18:45] <Somber> heh
  607. [18:46] <Harris> No just you.
  608. [18:46] <Candlelight_Sonata> actually, I was responding to Naphtha
  609. [18:46] <Somber> Just let me know if you want to talk to anyone else before going back to Hoe.
  610. [18:46] <Strifer> Harris: Guess you're right
  611. [18:47] <Harris> Heard thinks and didn't want to go get shot up at that door
  612. [18:47] <Candlelight_Sonata> I forgot that Calamine was actually talking to the folks in there
  613. [18:47] <Calamine> I saved most of them, but not a still birth baby.
  614. [18:48] <Callie> Boy, life among the colonel's men is probably not a hell of a lot better
  615. [18:49] <Callie> but it's better than starving right now
  616. [18:49] <Somber> So what do you want to do?
  617. [18:50] <Somber> saucy
  618. [18:50] <FillyLuck> Somber, http://i.imgur.com/PPJHcFh.png
  619. [18:50] <Strifer> ...
  620. [18:50] <Somber> Sweeet....
  621. [18:50] <Calamine> ...
  622. [18:50] <Somber> New wallpaper
  623. [18:50] <Candlelight_Sonata> ...o.o
  624. [18:50] <Candlelight_Sonata> o.o'
  625. [18:51] <Somber> So Barons, confront coupon, or have you made your decision?
  626. [18:51] <Candlelight_Sonata> you know what... let's confront Coupon. He seemed nervous around the fancy mare
  627. [18:58] * Strifer will go to bed soon.
  628. [18:58] <Somber> Sorry strifer
  629. [18:58] <Strifer> Its kay, silly!
  630. [18:59] <Strifer> Strifer aint much for conversation atm anyway. This plotting and scheming is way over her head, and tbh partly over my own.
  631. [18:59] <Callie> It's no good for Callie either. She's too straightforward for conspiracy.
  632. [19:00] <Somber> Sorry
  633. [19:00] <Callie> Hey, it's fine
  634. [19:00] <Callie> She'll just keep on goin' along to be gettin' along.
  635. [19:00] <Callie> She's sure everything will work out fine in the end anyways.
  636. [19:01] <Candlelight_Sonata> I don't know if this is accurate or not, but for whatever reason, my headcanon has Harris as this like, Harrison Ford in griffon form
  637. [19:01] * Callie laughs in a single bray
  638. [19:01] * Naphtha might suggest maybe saving the confrontation for next time but we've already started now.
  639. [19:04] <Harris> Well Harris Hawk a play on this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102070/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_83
  640. [19:04] <Harris> Hudson Hawk
  641. [19:05] <Candlelight_Sonata> ah, ok
  642. [19:08] <Strifer> Aight, im gonna go. Please, feel free to go on. Strifer wont do much here anyways. ;)
  643. [19:08] <Strifer> Ni ni
  644. [19:08] <Callie> Nanu nanu.
  645. [19:09] * Strifer ([email protected]) Quit ( Quit: He who laughs last, thinks slowest )
  646. [19:13] <Callie> 1d10 AGI 7

  655. [19:34] * Candlelight_Sonata wishes she could support Calamine
  656. [19:34] <Callie> Honestly here, Calamine is totally being super awesome right now.
  657. [19:34] <Candlelight_Sonata> she is
  658. [19:34] <Candlelight_Sonata> omg
  659. [19:34] <Calamine> Shaman vs. Spirit Battle!
  660. [19:36] <Callie> Damn, it pretty much was the Train Job in reverse. I think.
  661. [19:36] <Candlelight_Sonata> there weren't medical supplies
  662. [19:36] <Candlelight_Sonata> there was food
  663. [19:37] <Candlelight_Sonata> Calamine was the first medic we'd seen. If there were medical supplies, they disappeared somewhere farther up the tracks
  664. [19:37] <Callie> Fascinating
  665. [19:37] <Calamine> Yeah. They had NOTHING and were in far too great a need for medical attention if they had taken meds.
  666. [19:37] <Somber> Did you check the train for meds?
  667. [19:38] <Candlelight_Sonata> dammit
  668. [19:38] <Candlelight_Sonata> no
  669. [19:38] <Somber> They took the train for FOOD.
  670. [19:38] <Somber> They didn't know that something else might be on it.
  671. [19:38] <Harris> Well they said that./
  672. [19:43] <Callie> I gotta say, having a frost spirit cooling its heels on your head in the tropics is gotta be a pretty awesome thing. Personal air conditioning!
  673. [19:43] <Candlelight_Sonata> XD
  674. [19:45] <Calamine> 1d100 Barter 50
  675. [19:45] <FillyLuck> Calamine, Barter 50: 51 [1d100=51]
  676. [19:45] <Calamine> NO!
  677. [19:46] <Calamine> Wait!
  678. [19:46] <Callie> ouch
  679. [19:46] <@Naphtha> Welll it's only a fail, not a crit fail.
  680. [19:47] <Callie> It's a fail by 1 percentage point
  681. [19:47] <Calamine> Forgot the +15 bonus!
  682. [19:47] <Calamine> So it's a 51 out of 65
  683. [19:47] <Callie> oh, so succcess!
  684. [19:49] <Calamine> BTW, I gotta go int 10 minutes.
  685. [19:49] <Callie> This is a good place to wrap up, methink
  686. [19:50] <Somber> yup
  687. [19:50] * Candlelight_Sonata thinks so too
  688. [19:50] <Candlelight_Sonata> @.@
  689. [19:50] <Somber> I'll let folks think about it because there's something critical to do now.
  690. [19:50] * Harris nods
  691. [19:51] <Harris> so is someone going to go get Coupon?
  692. [19:51] <@Naphtha> He just ran away?
  693. [19:51] <@Naphtha> Guess he was expecting something worse. >.>
  694. [19:52] <Somber> That is a VERY good question Harris.
  695. [19:52] <Callie> Callie went outside too late to see where he went.
  696. [19:52] <Harris> Well he ran out a trapdoor
  697. [19:53] <Callie> in the wall
  698. [19:53] <Candlelight_Sonata> yeah... that's... argh
  699. [19:53] * Candlelight_Sonata feels like tearing her mane out. Coupon is playing someone who is playing us who is abusing and argh
  700. [19:54] <Somber> :D
  701. [19:55] <Somber> No one asked how they knew there was food on that car
  702. [19:55] <Callie> oh god that's a travesty of mispunctuation
  703. [19:55] <Somber> Who might have told them to take that one.
  704. [19:55] <@Naphtha> I figured they'd be familiar with the shipping schedule for when they ship fresh food, since some of them probably worked on the line before going AWOL.
  705. [19:56] <Callie> Like I said, Callie is fairly straightforward and optimistic.
  706. [19:57] <@Naphtha> Coupon was presumably informing the ponies who were refugees, making sure they stole the right train, with intent to claim the box of medicine when they got it without telling them what was in it, then hire someone to go wipe them out and get the train back when Silver came. Then he could claim that the medical box must have been destroyed by the raiders or taken away by them
  707. [19:57] <@Naphtha> and pocket its value.
  708. [19:57] <@Naphtha> Which means he's now most likely run off to get the box before we can.
  709. [19:58] <Somber> :D
  710. [19:58] <Somber> Told you there was a way to resolve this
  711. [19:58] <Somber> It's not always A and B.
  712. [19:58] <Callie> Coupon didnt' stay to hear about the medicine though
  713. [19:59] <Somber> Who do you think was responsible to paying the people gathering it?
  714. [20:00] <Callie> grr
  715. [20:00] * Callie simply isn't nimble minded enough for this stuff. Will leave the thought-think to Naphtha.
  716. [20:00] <Somber> Sorry. I have a thing for convoluted plots.
  717. [20:00] * Callie 's player is sitting in a too warm room and is half asleep too. Simply isn't that nasty minded, would never think of that.
  718. [20:01] <Candlelight_Sonata> It's fine
  719. [20:02] * Candlelight_Sonata will eventually catch up with Somber
  720. [20:02] <@Naphtha> Well there's really only two reasons to go to Coupon to get him to hire someone.
  721. [20:02] <@Naphtha> Either because he didn't know anything about the medicine (And thus wouldn't be in a position to potentially doublecross you, which is only an issue if you believe you're doublecrossable, which given the position of the Silvers seems unlikely for them to think could happen) or because he knows about it and thus you don't risk someone else finding out about it.
  722. [20:03] <Callie> I would never travel down that path of reasoning
  723. [20:03] <@Naphtha> And one assumes the reason they packed it with all that food in the cart, and didn't add tons of extra guards, was because they didn't want it to look like an appealing target to someone who would be likely to try and rip them off.
  724. [20:03] * Callie just isn't brainthink that way.
  725. [20:04] <@Naphtha> I can do it. I've just been rather apathetic and not paying enough attention today. >.>
  726. [20:04] <Somber> You're making an assumption Naphtha.
  727. [20:05] <Somber> Who would be responsible for loading the crate in the first place?
  728. [20:06] <Harris> Well silver.
  729. [20:06] <Harris> Or some underling.
  730. [20:06] <@Naphtha> The not-slaves who work at the shipping point, one would assume. Though whether or not they'd know what was in the box is hard to say.
  731. [20:06] <Somber> Silver came here as a result of the theft.
  732. [20:06] <Harris> As this train was headed here. But who is the meds for?
  733. [20:07] <Somber> that is another question entirely.
  734. [20:07] <@Naphtha> Obviously Coupon's involved in it one way or another. So presumably he's responsible for some part of this situation.
  735. [20:07] <Somber> anyway
  736. [20:07] * Naphtha is now known as Ilushia
  737. [20:07] <Somber> At least Strifer will get to thump somepony.
  738. [20:07] <Harris> Night Somber.
  739. [20:07] * Ilushia needs to think more and be more paranoid, clearly.
  740. [20:07] <Harris> And GG all.
  741. [20:07] <Somber> I was going to die if you actually lied and said it was the colonel.
  742. [20:08] <Callie> why?
  743. [20:08] <Somber> Like sargent cunt said. They get supplies and materials through the Silvers.
  744. [20:09] <Harris> As we/I got that the Colonel and siver are almost hand in hand, that would have been a bad idea.
  745. [20:09] <Callie> It would have been interesting though.
  746. [20:09] <Somber> Suddenly you're saying they raided a silver's supply train and stole critically important medicine?
  747. [20:09] <Somber> Oh yes.
  748. [20:09] <Somber> You'd have been seeing Krait again very soon.
  749. [20:09] * Harris sighs 'dumb lies are dumb'
  750. [20:10] <Somber> Delicate little balances of power.
  751. [20:10] <Somber> So easy... to shift.
  752. [20:10] <Somber> For outsiders like you.
  753. [20:10] <Somber> :D
  754. [20:10] <Candlelight_Sonata> oh dear
  755. [20:11] <Somber> and with that I'll bid you a fond good night.
  756. [20:11] <Callie> g'night
  757. [20:11] * Harris slaps at the logs
  758. [20:11] <Somber> I would have loved you to meet captain Blaze.
  759. [20:11] <Callie> pls no
  760. [20:11] <Candlelight_Sonata> night
  761. [20:11] <Somber> She'd been the Baron's contact.
  762. [20:11] <Callie> It's 85 in the hallway and five more in here.
  763. [20:12] <Somber> She's... alot more passionate.
  764. [20:12] <Callie> Among many other things, my computer is also an excellent heat pump.
  765. [20:12] <Callie> Next time it's this hot I'll use my laptop...
  766. [20:12] <Somber> Oh
  767. [20:12] <Somber> Next week we might be brushing.
  768. [20:12] <Somber> It's going to be a shorter chapter.
  769. [20:13] <Somber> So we might get it done early.
  770. [20:13] <Callie> oaky doaky
