  1. >"GPS HAS LOST SIGNAL. RECONNECTING…"
  2. >What the fuck...? Oh god your back is so damn stiff. Fuck sleeping in a car ever again, if you have to do it again you’re going to sleep on the dirt outside.
  3. >It’s still dark outside, damn sleeping in a car sucks.
  4. >You turn onto your side, turning the key in the ignition as you do so... Damn GPS...
  5. >You swear it did more bad then good.
  6. >You close your eyes, hoping to find sleeps sweet embrace once more.
  7. >After almost falling asleep again, you’re interrupted by Maya's growling.
  8. "Maya stop it, trying to sleep here."
  9. >She doesn’t listen. Instead, she starts barking.
  10. >You roll over to look at her, ready to give her a piece of your tired mind.
  11. “OI”
  12. >She doesn't even acknowledge you. She starts baring her teeth, her eyes looking out the wind screen.
  13. >Okay, something's up...
  14. >You sit up in your seat, trying to get a look at what Maya is so bothered about. You can faintly make out an outline of something on the hood of the SUV.
  15. >You start to rub the condensation off the windscreen. Probably should have cracked a windooooooOOOOHHH GOD…
  16. >You are met with a set of glowing yellow eyes staring right at you.
  17. >What the fuck is this shit?
  18. >Searching... No entries found for glowing_eyes.nfo
  19. >Wiping the rest of the condensation off, you’re greeted by…
  20.
  21. >Okay… you are still asleep. There is no such thing as a wolf with glowing yellow eyes and a body made up of branches and shit.
  22. >Slipping the tips of your fingers in your mouth you bite down... hard.
  23. >OH GOD WHY DID YOU THINK THAT WAS A GOO…
  24. >You’re interrupted by the sound of cracking glass, a wooden paw bashing on your windscreen.
  25. >NOPE.
  26. >Your hand fumbles with the key in the ignition, the V8 on your Range Rover rumbling to life.
  27. >The wolf stumbles backwards in surprise. It claws at the hood as it takes one too many steps backward, falling to the ground.
  28. >You floor the accelerator, letting the supercharger spool up. Its high pitched whine mixes with the thunderous roar coming from the V8. Their sweet symphony echoes throughout the forest.
  29. >You flick the lights on full beam, catching a glimpse of the wolf as it scampers away into the darkness.
  30. >As the adrenaline in your blood subsides, you start to settle down and take in your surroundings.
  31. >Did you pull over in the middle of a bloody forest last night?
  32. >No, you had pulled over into a clearing right next to the road.
  33. >So like… where the fuck are you?
  34. >”GPS HAS LOST SIGNAL. RECONNECTING…”
  35. >Of course…
  36. >You inch your way through the maze that is the forest you currently reside in. As reversing is not an option with the trailer still attached, you take your route very carefully.
  37. >By sheer dumb luck, you stumble upon what appears to be a dirt road.
  38. >Following it along, you see that it leads to what appears to be a city carved into the side of a mountain.
  39. >You can see the light radiating from it, silhouetting towering spires against the beautiful night sky.
  40. >You’ll be damned if you’re still in Sweden.
  41. >You follow the road towards the city. The lights become brighter and brighter with each passing mile.
  42.
  43. >Drawing even closer to the city, the outlines start to define themselves as you finally get a decent look at what’s in front of you.
  44. >Huge stone pillars are simply dwarfed by the magnificent golden spires. It looks like something Gaudi had thought up in a wet dream.
  45. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoni_Gaudi for anyone who is interested-)
  46. >You slow down as you come to a wooden drawbridge. Talk about medieval.
  47. >Maya sits up in her seat, a low rumble emitting from her stomach as she starts showing off her teeth.
  48. >Suddenly the revs build up as you hear the wheels spinning freely. Slamming on the brakes, you push back into your seat, waiting for the car to come to an abrupt stop.
  49. >It doesn’t.
  50. >Looking out your windows, you realize the car is engulfed by a light blue aura… and you aren’t moving… and you’re also floating…
  51. >As if things weren’t weird enough, two white, horned horses are walking towards you, their horns emitting a light blue aura that matches the one surrounding your range rover.
  52. >They stop short and begin to lower your SUV and trailer to the ground again. The light blue aura still remains.
  53. >One of the horses nods to the other and motions upwards.
  54. >Suddenly light erupts from the other horse’s horn, spearing straight into the night sky.
  55. >You would have taken some time to admire the sight if you weren’t secretly terrified.
  56. >Seemingly out of nowhere another ten or so horned horses show up.
  57. >This can’t be good…
  58. >Something flashes past one of them, catching the light. It looked like another horse…
  59. >You look above the horned horses on the ground, you see about twenty more... minus the horns... with wings... flying...
  60. >You stare at them, mouth agape.
  61.
  62. >They're all just staring back at you. What is going on?
  63. >Fuck this. You can’t stay in here forever.
  64. >You switch the engine off, leaving the lights on. You’ll need to be able to see out there, after all.
  65. >You open the door very slowly. You can see looks of puzzlement on some of the horses’ faces. Some even look like they're getting ready to charge you.
  66. >Leaving Maya inside, you step down on to the dirt and close the door. You raise open palms above your head placatingly and walk slowly towards the horses.
  67. >You feel like an idiot but you keep your hands where they are. If these horses could levitate your SUV and trailer, you didn’t want to appear as any kind of threat.
  68. >?1: “CAPTAIN… THAT BIG METAL THING JUST GAVE BIRTH!”
  69. >?2: “Don’t be so stupid, private. That is obviously some self-propelled carriage, and that… -thing- is the driver.”
  70. >Did they just… talk?
  71. >Should you say something?
  72. >No… best to leave it for now.
  73. “I come in peace.”
  74. >You really need to learn to think before you speak.
  75. >?1: “IT JUST TALKED!”
  76. >?3: “What do we do… Captain?”
  77. >?2: “Everyp0ny stay back. Be ready to charge if… -it- tries anything.”
  78.
  79. >A horned horse approaches you, light radiating from the tip of his horn.
  80. >Wow, these things are short. This one barely makes it up to the bottom of your ribs.
  81. >?2: “You try anything, you’ll just go to prison in pain. If you cooperate, at least you’ll not get hurt. Understand?”
  82. >You nod your head as you lower your arms, words escaping you at the moment.
  83. >?2: “Good… now, what are you?”
  84. >You open your mouth but only manage a dry cough.
  85. >You clear your throat.
  86. “A human, sir.”
  87. >You don’t know why you said sir; it just seemed to fit this guy.
  88. >2?: “Human, eh? Never heard of ‘em. What’s your name?”
  89. “Anonymous, sir.”
  90. >?2: “Well Mr. Anonymous, I think this matter is more fitting to the princess. Unfortunately for you she’s asleep right now. So you’ll be staying in a holding cell for tonight.”
  91. >You raise your arm to protest but stop yourself. You’re not in much of a position to argue.
  92. “What about my cars?”
  93. >?2: “Your what?”
  94. >You motion back to the SUV and trailer.
  95. >?2: “They can stay out here until the princess has seen you.”
  96. >Oh shit you forgot about Maya.
  97. “And what about my dog?”
  98. >?2: “What dog?”
  99. >You walk back to the range rover; opening the door to an agitated Maya. She tries to leap past you but you catch her by the collar.
  100. >You walk her back towards the horned horse.
  101. “This dog.”
  102. >?2: “That don’t look like no dog I’ve ever seen. Looks more like an ice wolf to me. It can stay with you in the cell. If it makes any trouble, we’ll subdue it.”
  103. >You were hoping he might give you a more favourable sleeping arrangement but that was wishful thinking.
  104.
  105. >?2: “Air squadron 2, lead this… human back to the prison, everyp0ny else back to your posts.”
  106. >Four flying horses land in front of you, salute the horned one you’d been talking to, and turn back to you.
  107. >?4: “Follow.”
  108. >You do as you’re told. Even being nearly twice the size of some of these horses; you did not want to fuck with them.
  109. >They lead you across the drawbridge, taking a right as soon as you enter the city.
  110. >You pass a few buildings but you’re only able to make out their outlines in the darkness
  111. >As you arrive at the prison, one thing is obvious, even in the dark: this place does not get used much.
  112. >The winged horses lead you inside and down a dimly lit hallway; they don’t even bother to pat you down as you arrive at an empty cell.
  113. >?4: “In.”
  114. >You drag Maya into the cell. She clearly did not want to be here. Well neither did you but you don’t have much of a choice.
  115. >The door closes behind you both as you manage to drag Maya’s stubborn arse into the cell.
  116. >You lie down on the cold stone floor. Tonight is going to suck.
  117. >Maya comes and joins you, her warm fur a nice change to the cold stone below.
  118. >You cuddle up to her as your mind begins to wander.
  119. >You’re going to meet a princess tomorrow. You’ve never met royalty before. You wish you had some better clothes.
  120. >You chuckle to yourself. Nice clothes are probably the least of your worries at the moment.
  121. >Your mind continues to wander as you slowly drift off to sleep.
