  1. Useful button shortcuts:
  2. On main battle screen - B+up views opponents bench, B+down views your bench
  3. In hand - select sorts cards by energy, basic pokemon, evolution, trainer. Select+right goes to the bottom card type

  5. Deck building tips
  6. Good ratio of pokemon/trainers/energy by end game is around 13-16/20ish/26ish. This generally isn't feasible by your first deck edit because you (likely) don't have enough decent trainers yet. You may have something closer to 18/14/28 at the first deck edit point. Lots of trainers is good, especially Bill/Professor Oak/Computer Search. Draw power helps you get what you want faster so less turns. Don't take out the Potion/Full Heal/Switch but there isn't really a need to add any more of them. You generally don't want more of an evolution in your deck than the basic Pokemon, with Magikarp/Gyarados being an exception because Magikarp is so bad. If you end up not enough Dewgongs and low Magikarp count, 2/4 Magikarp/Gyarados can usually work. Keep an eye out on what your rare card is every time you pull a Colosseum booster pack as basically every good card is in this set. This includes Hitmonchan, Dugtrio, Electabuzz, Raichu, Scyther, Gyarados, and Computer Search. Dewgongs/Seels are also in this pack but being able to see your uncommon cards as well while mashing through is difficult, just focus on the rare. By remembering if you pulled these cards you don't have to go searching to the bottom of the Pokemon list to see if you have it or not.

  8. General battle tips
  9. You almost always want to lead with Diglett/Rattata if you have these in your hand. Because they have zero retreat cost, it's a risk free opportunity to ensure you have the best Pokemon out first. Notable exceptions are trainers that have Machop/Hitmonchan you don't want Rattata first. Switching Pokemon removes status effects like poison/confusion/paralysis, so if you are paralyzed you can use a Switch to be able to attack that turn as well as a Full Heal. This is doubly useful if you have a Pokemon with zero retreat on the bench because you can switch and switch back. This not only works on normal status effects but also Pokemon effects such as Smokescreen, Leer, and Tail Wag. Computer Search is really valuable so use it well. If you have a small hand and need something like an energy, it can be more useful to search for a Professor Oak and get a fresh hand. Also keep in mind situations where you can search for a Plus Power and end the fight early. Every extra turn is a chance for the AI to fill their bench so if it costs a little more time to end the fight in less turns it is often worth it.

  13. Do shitty tutorial
  14. Pick Charmander & friends deck
  15. Go to Config and change message speed to 5 and duel animation to none
  16. Save game here for race file
  17. I recommend making a save state immediately after this tutorial and playing from this save. If you start run from this save, add 8:03 to your time. When doing a race, the race starts from the main menu highlighting Continue From Diary having saved at this point. If you are unclear, see http://imgur.com/6sw4TTu

  25. Electric Club - Fight club leader
  26. Ishihara's House - Talk to Nikki

  30. Fire Club - Fight club leader and then fighting trainer in side room, she is sitting at the table.

  44. Pokemon Dome - Fight Courtney
