  1. I need it bad...
  2. 10:08:15 pm: <obliviondoll> Considering the only line spoken by any of them included "fu*k", I'm also pretty confident it was an obvious troll.
  3. 10:08:32 pm: <MrGoodbar> lol
  4. 10:08:37 pm: <obliviondoll> Jon, same advice I have for prospective subjects - practise
  5. 10:08:37 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Jon, be comfortable with trancing your subject.
  6. 10:08:39 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> Hang out in the chatroom. If someone starts a group trance, and you're feeling confident - go with it
  7. 10:08:41 pm: <MrGoodbar> your typical google greeting
  8. 10:08:46 pm: <Bastion> I can think of something MrGoodbar:
  9. 10:08:46 pm: <EGnu62> @jon umm.. dont? find someone to talk to. get to know them. trance happens when they're ready
  10. 10:08:46 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Get to know them and what they want to do.
  11. 10:08:47 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> or watch and see what's it's like
  12. 10:08:54 pm: <Bastion> Stop being so scared of being tranced
  13. 10:09:00 pm: <JonSmisu> No. Trancing others. And this person set it up with me.
  14. 10:09:02 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Know their limits and respect themzz
  15. 10:09:06 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> yeah - good advice, Bastion - that's helped me to
  16. 10:09:10 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> too
  17. 10:09:11 pm: <Anonymoususer2> .darn phone.

  37. 10:10:32 pm: <Bastion> Yeah, but you've expressed worry over being tranced on more than one ocasion. Since you have no intention to be tranced yourself, that worry is just a waste of energy and focus
  38. 10:10:34 pm: <obliviondoll> lydia, I recommend taking a look at /help, it's a good place to look.

  78. 10:13:46 pm: *Anonymoususer2 whispers: And it's ok to be nervous. You might not know who they are or how receptive they are to text, but you can ask them questions and help you as the guider to get them to their destination.*
  79. 10:13:50 pm: <Erikaa> thanks everyone. ! and well i left a bit ago but i never said id brb and i think someone tried to talk to me while i was AFK.

  105. 10:16:15 pm: <tamedgator> hi
  106. 10:16:23 pm: <obliviondoll> I'm almost always online at 4am, EGnu. Not seeing the problem.
  107. 10:16:29 pm: <EnchantingBear69> Hi/bye gator
  108. 10:16:31 pm: *Anonymoususer2 whispers: Don't think of yourself as the hypnotist, but a guide. Just let your subjects remember past feelings if they have any and let them hypnotize themselves.*
  109. 10:16:36 pm: <Kittykat> @Jon my recommendation to you is to read some inductions. You don't have to be tranced if you don't want to, but how can you be a good writer if you don't read any books? You have no way to gauge if you're any good at it.
  110. 10:16:38 pm: <obliviondoll> Being up this late (3pm) is a lot more rare for me.
  111. 10:16:46 pm: <Lauren> i woke up at 1am for no reason and i can't get back to sleep so..
  112. 10:16:51 pm: [INFO] EnchantingBear69 has left.
  113. 10:16:52 pm: <EGnu62> @obliviondoll actually I was thinking someone into hypnosis in the same timezone as me ..
  114. 10:17:02 pm: <Kittykat> the subject might not be able to give good constructive criticism
  115. 10:17:22 pm: <obliviondoll> I'm sure there are some, EGnu. Good luck catching them :D
  116. 10:17:30 pm: <Kittykat> don't start a text trance with "look into my eyes" if there are no eyes to see
  117. 10:17:35 pm: *Anonymoususer2 whispers: my text logs that I sent you are excellent examples, and I didn't even know who these people were.*
  118. 10:17:52 pm: <tamedgator> heh
  119. 10:18:02 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Also replace "listen" with "read".
  120. 10:18:04 pm: <Lauren> Or with look into the popcorn
  121. 10:18:10 pm: <Bastion> If it is text specificially, it is almost always a good idea to remind the subject to keep their eyes open
  122. 10:18:13 pm: <EGnu62> dont tell them to shut their eyes on a text trance either .. it really messes with the patter
  123. 10:18:16 pm: <Sertsim> @@ eyes
  124. 10:18:21 pm: <tamedgator> or "you can see my eyes in your mind"
  125. 10:18:27 pm: <obliviondoll> Yes, tamedgator, you've shown up while we're actually discussing hypnosis. It isn't always the case, but it does happen :D
  126. 10:18:53 pm: <JonSmisu> Kittykat: Don't worry. I'm not that cliched. :P
  127. 10:18:54 pm: <tamedgator> ?
  128. 10:19:00 pm: <SPalmer> I am lucky enough to have had the same system. For 17 years
  129. 10:19:20 pm: <SPalmer> subject not system
  130. 10:19:23 pm: <Bastion> Definitely don't tell someone to close their eyes. If you do that, I'll close them and won't be opening them again until I start coming up again
  131. 10:19:24 pm: <Anonymoususer2> I prefer to let them have heavy eyes if it helps them, but have them still able to see my words on the screen.
  132. 10:19:34 pm: <EGnu62> @spalmer married ? congratulations
  133. 10:19:45 pm: <Kittykat> something else I've noticed: like movies or telling a story, you have to be able to "suspend the subject's disbelief" for the duration of the text. If you screw up by saying something that would cause the subject to think (i.e. Look into my eyes when there's no eyes to see, or confusing grammar) the subject will start to wake up
  134. 10:19:58 pm: <JonSmisu> Okay.
  135. 10:20:06 pm: <Anonymoususer2> They don't have to have entirely focused eyes, as their subconscious can read for them.
  136. 10:20:14 pm: <Lauren> Yah thats a goid 1 kittu
  137. 10:20:18 pm: <Kittykat> You're the hypnotist. You think for the subject
  138. 10:20:31 pm: <EGnu62> @kittykat have you read trance formations? i think they spent 69 pages at the start of the book explaining that ..
  139. 10:20:34 pm: <SPalmer> Yeah I married her all inductions practiced om her and supports my love of hypnotism
  140. 10:20:36 pm: <Lauren> 420 club
  141. 10:20:41 pm: <Kittykat> no I haven't
  142. 10:20:46 pm: <JonSmisu> What if you did something visual? I.e. imagine this hypnotizing thing? Would that work?
  143. 10:20:59 pm: <Kittykat> I study storytelling
  144. 10:20:59 pm: <obliviondoll> It can for some people Jon, yes.
  145. 10:21:04 pm: <💤> Imagining things can work.
  146. 10:21:16 pm: <EGnu62> @jon depends on how well the persons to a visual description.
  147. 10:21:25 pm: <Bastion> Word choice is also important for this sort of thing
  148. 10:21:30 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> sorry - ducked away
  149. 10:21:35 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> I agree about the eyes
  150. 10:21:41 pm: <Anonymoususer2> I prefer my subjects just letting their eyes glaze over as their subconscious read the text, but whatever works.
  151. 10:21:48 pm: <Kittykat> you can tell them to imagine certain things. or feel certain things. but remember that it's not actually there for them. focus on good description
  152. 10:21:56 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> that being said - some text trances I've been on here have blinking as part - and that was really effective for me
  153. 10:22:01 pm: [INFO] KalCorrish has joined.
  154. 10:22:04 pm: <Kittykat> you can't just tell a subject that a cold room is now hot.

  156. 10:22:15 pm: <KalCorrish> Hello all.
  157. 10:22:18 pm: <Lauren> you is getting tired enit. man is tired, man gettin deeper n deeper. man is now a slave.
  158. 10:22:21 pm: <💤> hi Kal.
  159. 10:22:23 pm: <SPalmer> I have a subject I just started to work with she is into meditation and yoga so I used that training in my induction and it worked great
  160. 10:22:24 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> Like instructions to close eyes - count - and reopen - stuff like that
  161. 10:22:47 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> In text trances, that can really deepen - at least for me
  162. 10:22:48 pm: <💤> Yep SPalemr, use what they give you.
  163. 10:22:49 pm: <EGnu62> @jon my advice is to say "just imagine" and then give a visual, audible and feeling to it .. so a beach would maybe be "just imagine yourself on the beach, feel the sand under your feet and hear the gentle sound of waves". covers all the bases enriches the experience
  164. 10:23:04 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Breathing is a good exercise to have your subject do.
  165. 10:23:19 pm: <Bastion> Oh!

  173. 10:23:37 pm: <SPalmer> has anyone tried 7 +or - 2 induction
  174. 10:23:38 pm: <💤> Square Breathing? I'm interested
  175. 10:23:38 pm: <Kittykat> like instead, take the subject to the beach. where it's warm. Focus on describing the warm breeze through your hair. the feel of hot sand between your toes. the smell of the ocean... etc
  176. 10:23:41 pm: <KalCorrish> Touch on basic, simple senses. Sight and sound are easy to imagine, and helps to increase the imagination.
  177. 10:23:47 pm: <💤> SPalmer I've read it, not tried it on either side though.
  178. 10:24:09 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Explain please Bastion, I've heard of it but never used its
  179. 10:24:13 pm: <KalCorrish> 7 +/- 2 works, but it is a tad advanced.
  180. 10:24:14 pm: <💤> JonSmisu is being inundated with advice. I'll withold adding to the avalanche since my advice comes from theory and not practice.
  181. 10:24:21 pm: <Bastion> Basically square breathing is as such:
  182. 10:24:23 pm: <Anonymoususer2> *it.
  183. 10:24:36 pm: <JonSmisu> How do you save this chat?! I really need this...
  184. 10:24:38 pm: <Kittykat> if you can completely immerse your subject somewhere, it makes it easier for them to visualize it
  185. 10:24:39 pm: *EGnu62 whispers: i cant recommend a book called "Trance Formations" by Bandler and Grinder highly enough. It teaches you why it works ..*
  186. 10:24:40 pm: <Bastion> Breath in for 4 seconds, hold it for 4 seconds, Breath out for 4 seconds
  187. 10:24:43 pm: <💤> copy & paste
  188. 10:24:46 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> anything that keeps the conscious mind busy - like visualizations - or breathing patterns that take concentration - can help with text trancing, I've found

  202. 10:25:25 pm: <obliviondoll> Hello Jessie and Norcal
  203. 10:25:29 pm: <Anonymoususer2> I usually just tell my subject to breathe in.
  204. 10:25:29 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> I can use your help in a little bit, Jessie
  205. 10:25:33 pm: *Jessie snuggles with doll*
  206. 10:25:33 pm: <Anonymoususer2> And out.
  207. 10:25:34 pm: <Lauren> Hey jessie :)
  208. 10:25:35 pm: <Kittykat> a lot of hypnotists fall back on the "feel a warmth/relaxation spreading from your toes to your head" induction. or a countdown
  209. 10:25:46 pm: <SleepySnake> I don't have a problem with those.
  210. 10:25:51 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> I do warmth/relaxation, then countdown
  211. 10:25:51 pm: <Anonymoususer2> And keep doing that as they enter trance as it gives their mind something to do.
  212. 10:25:54 pm: *obliviondoll blushes and snuggles Jessie back*
  213. 10:25:55 pm: <Bastion> Anomy, that is what is usually done
  214. 10:25:55 pm: <SPalmer> 7 +- is based on the idea the brain can only focus on 7 things at a time
  215. 10:26:04 pm: <Jessie> i do that myself only cause its how one meditates
  216. 10:26:08 pm: [INFO] !21 m Norcal has left.

  218. 10:26:17 pm: <EGnu62> "have you been hypnotised before. i wonder if that felt good? yes, thats right. sleep now" .. short. works. depends on subject
  219. 10:26:23 pm: <Anonymoususer2> I know I do kitty.
  220. 10:26:32 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Biut hey, it works.
  221. 10:26:38 pm: <Anonymoususer2> *but
  222. 10:27:05 pm: <Kittykat> it works, but works better in certain types of context
  223. 10:27:12 pm: <EGnu62> @spalmer if anyone is interested in 7+/-2 wiseguy covered in the last hypbook learning event. the chat log and recording is posted for download
  224. 10:27:15 pm: <Bastion> But I found Square Breathing version to hold my focus much more easily than the regular breathing exercises
  225. 10:27:23 pm: <Kittykat> gets tiring if I want to trance while I'm awake
  226. 10:27:25 pm: <Anonymoususer2> I make it kind of slow and expand the details.
  227. 10:27:34 pm: <Kittykat> that's better
  228. 10:27:37 pm: <SleepySnake> What's square breathing?
  229. 10:27:38 pm: <💤> Someone tell me to step away from my computer and do some chores.
  230. 10:27:52 pm: <Anonymoususer2> With brackets?
  231. 10:27:54 pm: <JonSmisu> Step away from your computer and do some chores.
  232. 10:27:57 pm: <SleepySnake> get the fuck away from the computer and get shit done!
  233. 10:27:59 pm: <Kittykat> zzz, you're a maid now. go clean
  234. 10:28:03 pm: <Bastion> @SleepySnake: 8:25:00 pm: <Bastion> Breath in for 4 seconds, hold it for 4 seconds, Breath out for 4 seconds
  235. 10:28:05 pm: <💤> Thanks guys.
  236. 10:28:05 pm: <Lauren> get me some popcorn zzz
  237. 10:28:06 pm: <SPalmer> Go Do chores
  238. 10:28:09 pm: <tamedgator> inraptured mostly.

  241. 10:28:43 pm: <Kittykat> :D
  242. 10:28:44 pm: <JonSmisu> Ugh...if it wasn't so blasted late, I'd ask if anyone would volunteer for this.
  243. 10:28:45 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> One thing that works for me is - start with a normal trance - give a trigger that deepens trance - bring me out - then retrigger me deeper, etc.
  244. 10:28:45 pm: <Kittykat> howdy
  245. 10:28:46 pm: <Bastion> Speak of the Devil and he shall apear
  246. 10:28:49 pm: <ElysianTail> You just watched Django Unchained, I take it...
  247. 10:28:49 pm: <Bastion> Haro Coyote!
  248. 10:28:52 pm: <Erikaa> hey Coyote!
  249. 10:28:56 pm: <SleepySnake> I figure i couldn't do square breathing. Would put too much concentration on the counting for the breathing instead of paying attention tot he Tist.
  250. 10:29:04 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Like I said, you should read a lot of trance logs or scripts (Like mine!) to get a good construction of the trance ideal.
  251. 10:29:06 pm: <EGnu62> @weaselbotrobo - 'fractionation'
  252. 10:29:14 pm: <JonSmisu> Robo: that fractionination thing right? I got asked to do that...
  253. 10:29:17 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> Yes
  254. 10:29:22 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Little tipsy, very tired, and no, Django is a hypnotist in One Piece
  255. 10:29:30 pm: <Kittykat> @SleepySnake: That's the point
  256. 10:29:36 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Also, One piece has 'pie' in it
  257. 10:29:40 pm: <obliviondoll> Hi C-Diddy
  258. 10:29:46 pm: <ElysianTail> Ah, well... I'll brb. Need to pick up some water.
  259. 10:29:46 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> the main thing - I get feedback when I do it
  260. 10:29:51 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> like on a scale of 1 to 10
  261. 10:29:52 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Oh, who is talking about square breathing?
  262. 10:29:53 pm: <SleepySnake> ...I thought the point of hynposis was to have all focus on what the tist is saying?
  263. 10:29:54 pm: <Anonymoususer2> It's to distract you from your tides words.
  264. 10:29:56 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> then try different things if it isn't working
  265. 10:29:57 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Thats one of my favorite things
  266. 10:30:01 pm: [INFO] ElysianTail has left.
  267. 10:30:04 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> open communication, etc
  268. 10:30:08 pm: <Anonymoususer2> *tists
  269. 10:30:12 pm: <Kittykat> Stop trying to consciously paying attention to the tist, and let your subconscious do it for you
  270. 10:30:16 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> right- that
  271. 10:30:23 pm: <SleepySnake> I don't see that working.
  272. 10:30:23 pm: <EGnu62> so heres a thing then .. the concept of 'depth'. is that what you meant by 1 to 10 ?
  273. 10:30:33 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> sure
  274. 10:30:34 pm: <SPalmer> Yeah change it up confusion induction I love em
  275. 10:30:35 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> And were ya'll talkin bout me?
  276. 10:30:37 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Also constantly ask questions to your subject.
  277. 10:30:48 pm: <Kittykat> let your conscious mind focus on your breathing.
  278. 10:30:49 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> NLP is something that sometimes works for me - but I can never do those inductions
  279. 10:30:54 pm: *JonSmisu begins rubbing forehead*

  281. 10:31:02 pm: <Sertsim> If I was in a trance, the last thing I want to do it keep typing
  282. 10:31:05 pm: <Anonymoususer2> It keeps them focused enough without being distracted and helps you gauge the level of trance they're at.
  283. 10:31:19 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> you just suggest that they can type easliy while being in trance, etc.
  284. 10:31:20 pm: <obliviondoll> Hi Grasshopper.
  285. 10:31:20 pm: <Kittykat> I trance better when I interact with the tist
  286. 10:31:21 pm: <SleepySnake> Well...if someone wants to prove to me that square breathing works in hypnosis assistance, I'm ready and willing.
  287. 10:31:36 pm: <JonSmisu> I'm doing this tomorrow, by the way.
  288. 10:31:40 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> O_o

  291. 10:31:46 pm: <JonSmisu> Yah.
  292. 10:31:47 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> I would totally, snake, but again, tipsy and tired
  293. 10:31:53 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Square breathing is my jam
  294. 10:32:00 pm: <obliviondoll> Good morning Giraffe :D
  295. 10:32:07 pm: <SleepySnake> another day I guess...
  296. 10:32:11 pm: <TheGiraffe> not here it's not :P
  297. 10:32:14 pm: <Anonymoususer2> How many years have you been studying "The Way of a The Hypno Fist"?
  298. 10:32:22 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> But seriously, were ya'll talking about me? As soon as I logged on ya'll said "speak of the devil"
  299. 10:32:22 pm: <EGnu62> @coyote does 4 seconds work better than 3 for the gradual hypoxia it causes ?
  300. 10:32:27 pm: <obliviondoll> It's not morning here either, but it's always morning somewhere :P
  301. 10:32:30 pm: <JonSmisu> I got a private thing sparked with someone who I thought could help me figure out if I was part of an RP or not, and one thing led to another...
  302. 10:32:31 pm: <Kittykat> @SleepySnake you should just try it
  303. 10:32:36 pm: <Bastion> And then you, too, Snake, can join the Scubaclub =p
  304. 10:32:40 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> Kind of like "long time subject, first time tister for me"
  305. 10:32:45 pm: <obliviondoll> Coyote, you were mentioned when square breathing came up.
  306. 10:32:54 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> I just use the lines that work for me - and keep it very simple
  307. 10:32:54 pm: <TheGiraffe> hahahaha
  308. 10:32:56 pm: <Anonymoususer2> So is that a no on personal experience with hypnosi?
  309. 10:32:58 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> EGnu62 I like 4 seconds, and I have never had a problem using it, despite my asthma
  310. 10:33:05 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Fucking phone.
  311. 10:33:10 pm: <SleepySnake> well how can I test it without a tist, Kittykat?
  312. 10:33:26 pm: <Kittykat> mp3 files
  313. 10:33:27 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> I can't say whether or not it works for me, because no one has ever used it to tize me
  314. 10:33:28 pm: <obliviondoll> You can try it with meditation, Snake.
  315. 10:33:35 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> and - also - since I was on Yahoo IM - I add a lot of you will wake safely if we get disconnected
  316. 10:33:51 pm: <MsWebb> Self hypnosis is the best.
  317. 10:33:51 pm: <Bastion> If you're worried about not getting enough air then breath with your diaphram
  318. 10:33:51 pm: *You whisper: ...Kinda sorta? I asked if they could help me figure out if I wa part of an RP, or if actual hypnosis took place...*
  319. 10:33:52 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> 'cause the very first time I tried - that happened
  320. 10:33:55 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> And whenever I start to go down, it is hard for me to concentrate on anything that I'm not told to concentrate on, breathing included
  321. 10:33:58 pm: <EGnu62> thats the reason i control breathing .. to achieve mild hypoxia. good for orgasm (many people hold breathe while they cum) and altering mental state
  322. 10:34:05 pm: <SleepySnake> I wish I could self hypnotize.
  323. 10:34:16 pm: <💤> SleepySnake you can
  324. 10:34:18 pm: <Anonymoususer2> I really got my start on being a tist after finding this site actually.
  325. 10:34:24 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Same here, anon
  326. 10:34:30 pm: <obliviondoll> Not everyone can, Zzz.
  327. 10:34:40 pm: <SleepySnake> The way I see it, if you don't have a Tist to guide you you're just meditating.
  328. 10:34:49 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Someone asked if they could be tranced and I decided to give it whirl.
  329. 10:34:50 pm: <obliviondoll> I meditate, but I can't do self hypnosis because I don't trust myself in that way.
  330. 10:34:50 pm: <Bastion> (Or however that is spelled)
  331. 10:34:54 pm: <Jessie> jey kittykat can i pet you
  332. 10:34:54 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> I had no real interest in tisting at all, and then someone bothered me until I tried it, and I fell in love with being a switch
  333. 10:34:56 pm: <Jessie> hry
  334. 10:34:58 pm: <💤> SleepySnake have you tried self-recordings?
  335. 10:35:00 pm: <Jessie> hey
  336. 10:35:02 pm: <Kittykat> sure
  337. 10:35:05 pm: <Jessie> (there we go)
  338. 10:35:09 pm: *Jessie pets kittykat*
  339. 10:35:09 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> Hi Jessie
  340. 10:35:17 pm: <Kittykat> :3
  341. 10:35:23 pm: <SleepySnake> Self recordings? No...and I don't really want to. Something just...bothers me about hearing my voice.
  342. 10:35:24 pm: <Jessie> so you said you need help with something weasel?
  343. 10:35:34 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Wow, this is hard to keep up with
  344. 10:35:35 pm: <Anonymoususer2> Before this site I got my fix from listening to various hypnosis mp3s over the years.
  345. 10:35:37 pm: <WeaselBotRobo> Not quite yet - but definitely
  346. 10:35:37 pm: <💤> Same here SleepySnake but I've heard for a lot of people it works well
  347. 10:35:44 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> Anon, me too
  348. 10:35:53 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> That, and smut. lots and lots of smut

  353. 10:36:05 pm: <💤> hi Pug.
  354. 10:36:09 pm: <EGnu62> @sleepysnake its interesting. hearing your own voice giving yourself suggestions. you might find it shortcuts any resitance because you made it, approved it and you're saying it.
  355. 10:36:12 pm: <Anonymoususer2> So I already had a general idea in my head of what trance looked like and how I could get someone there.
  356. 10:36:18 pm: <Coyote_Ex_Django> I use 'self hypnosis' a TON at work to calm me down and help me focus
  357. 10:36:32 pm: <SleepySnake> I just feel vaguely uncomfortable with the concept and I don't know why.
  358. 10:36:33 pm: <Bastion> Most people have a problem with hearing recordings of their own voice
  359. 10:36:39 pm: <Bastion> It is something that you get used to with exposure
