(7:22:21 PM) Prof: Investigations during the day reveal neither a light source, nor anything of note. Whatever is causing it is only there during the night.
(7:22:46 PM) Prof: How spooky! To this end, a group of brave anemoi heroes have banded together, united by their love of memories, to investigate this.

(7:37:01 PM) Prof: The caves are pretty deep! And spooky. Dark, but not so dark that you'd run into things.
(7:37:55 PM) Lisa: Danny holds out his hand and forms a ball of green light in it to help illuminate the area.
(7:38:17 PM) Lisa: It probably looks creepy as fuck, but it's better than falling over in a dark cave.
(7:38:43 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Okay, I was about to ask if anybody could light the place up but cool, sure, use freaky demon light, good enough."
(7:39:22 PM) Lisa: Danny: "It's not 'demon light,' it's just some ectoplasmic energy is all."
(7:39:28 PM) Effy: Barnaby is carefully making his way through the cave, and is actually pretty grateful to Danny for the light.

(7:41:49 PM) Lisa: Danny feels a sudden cold chill, blue mist floating out of his mouth.

(7:45:07 PM) Lisa: Is all he has to say before he immediately jumps into the fray, blasting lobsters with beams of ectoplasmic energy, and punching at whichever ones get too close.

(7:46:28 PM) Prof: A third lobster's eyes flash green, and its arms start extending like crazy, pincers aiming to grab onto the ghost boy.

(7:47:52 PM) Prof: They're lobsters, not crabs, but the defense is successful regardless. The closer claw is kicked away, and Danny remains safe. For now.
(7:48:17 PM) Ethan: He goes for the face of the one holding him with more concentrated but still quick and repetitive lashings. +
(7:49:08 PM) Prof: At close range, the lobster is no match for Karkat's normally-impotent rage. It is sliced to ribbons.

(7:49:29 PM) Lisa: Danny: "Guys, stay away from those pincers as much as possible! They're probably poisonous, and I don't know what'd happen to a human if they get ghost poison in them!"

(7:50:45 PM) Chris: Ky turns toward the nearest lobster. He points his blade at it, and channels magic into the sword. An arrow-shaped surge of electricity lances toward the target.+
(7:51:09 PM) Prof: The arrow slames through the lobster and into the one behind it! Both are destroyed.
(7:51:19 PM) Prof: Another two, though, launch extendo-claws at the electric wonderboy!

That glistening object in the distance is her primary goal. The others can handle themselves for now, can't they? She'll be sneaking her way towards it, but keeping a close eye on anything that might look out of the ordinary just in case! +

(8:29:15 PM) Chris: Ky sees the ghost bats above. He crouches for half a second, then leaps into the air, swinging his sword in a wide upwards arc, leaving a trail of electricity in its wake.+
(8:29:47 PM) Prof: A bat screeches a ring at him as he does, but the slash cuts the ring in half, taking the bat with it!
(8:29:53 PM) Kattu: That kind of sucked, Rin admits to herself, but at least she's alive. Viva la resistance! Unknown to her, her body actually seems to encourage recovery and she's able to sit up after a moment or two. Now where Bones go?
(8:30:11 PM) Prof: This seems suddenly less important, though, as an enormous skeletal dragon rises from the ground in the middle of the battlefield, emitting a deafening roar.
(8:30:40 PM) Chris: Ky lands, and no sooner does he look up than he sees this monstrosity. "What the -- where the hell did THAT come from?!"

(8:30:55 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Okay, I wasn't expecting that."
(8:31:06 PM) Effy: Barnaby: "You're kidding."
(8:31:27 PM) Prof: Barnaby, I'd be careful - your time might be running out pretty soon.
(8:31:54 PM) Kattu: Oh hell no. Rin's booking it back as fast as she can in the sound of the roar, rather irritated. No one runs away from her! That's just RUDE.
(8:31:58 PM) Effy: Yep, that's right. He only has a few seconds left.
(8:32:05 PM) Lisa: Danny: "Oh jeez. What else is in here?!"
(8:32:29 PM) Effy: Which is why he immediately makes to run towards the skeletal dragon's legs and kick as hard as he possibly can.+
(8:33:02 PM) Prof: The last of Bunny's power gives him a heroic push of strength!
(8:33:24 PM) Prof: He actually kicks the dragon over, causing some damage to one of its legs, and making it roar in pain.
(8:33:51 PM) Prof: As it scrambles back to its feet, and as Barnaby's power runs out, it opens is mouth, letting loose a stream of some dark, shadowy substance.

(8:34:22 PM) Chris: In his attempt to get out of the way, Ky jumps, air-dashes, and then runs like mad when he lands.

(8:34:49 PM) Foxfire: Joachim grabs for another shark and chucks it at the mouth.
(8:35:41 PM) Lisa: Danny dives down to snatch Barnaby, carrying him princess-style, as he turns intangible and flies out away from the dark substance.
(8:35:55 PM) Lisa: he would've grabbed more, but he can only carry so many people at a time.+
(8:35:58 PM) Effy: This is humiliating.
(8:36:06 PM) Prof: Danny rescues Barnaby, and Ky makes it out on his own!
(8:36:14 PM) Prof: But the shark doesn't last long against the shadowy breath weapon.
(8:36:24 PM) Prof: The wave passes over Joachim, but... doesn't seem to do any physical damage!
(8:36:39 PM) Prof: However, when it passes, he looks to be in some sort of daze, as if he's asleep on his feet.

(8:40:41 PM) Prof: It's slowed down and maybe damaged a bit, but it cranes its neck over to look at the magus.

(8:40:54 PM) Kattu: Rin: "H-Hey, don't talk to me like that! You're pretty quick to blame someone just for coming to your rescue, you know!" Sup Bones, she's just gonna wave eagerly at him.

(8:41:14 PM) Prof: A pulse of dark energy flares from its eyes, and Rin finds her legs unable to move!

(8:42:46 PM) Chris: Okay, time to knock this behemoth off balance. Ky aims for its side and charges. Once in close range, he surrounds himself in a field of electricity, with smaller electric orbs revolving around the edge of the field, and dashes. Hard. "RIDE THE LIGHTNING!"
(8:42:51 PM) Prof: There's a sharp bit of Bonesy that got cracked off by his previous kick! That sounds pretty badass.
(8:43:18 PM) Effy: Barnaby picks it up. +1 sharp bit of Bonesy.
(8:43:46 PM) Prof: Ky smashes into the dracolich, knocking it out of the way and shaking its psychic hold on Rin!
(8:44:10 PM) Prof: As it lands, though, a huge claw claps around Ky's body, and it starts slowly crushing him in its fist.

(8:44:54 PM) Ethan: Karkat tries to decide whether to help the brainwashed idiot who will hit him with a log or the guy being crushed to death. Oh, wait, probably the latter.
(8:45:44 PM) Kattu: Rin: "Listen, you idiots, I wasn't off just going to get the goods. If I was, I could have just *taken* the unguarded treasure and left you behind." Now that's free, Rin surveys the current battle status - specifically up towards the top of the cave.
(8:45:45 PM) Effy: Barnaby, in the meantime, is actually doing pretty well, despite being depowered. He's kicking away quite a few lobsters and slicing those that get too close.

(8:45:56 PM) Ethan: He does, however, try to get into position to leap at the dragon by Mario-jumping on Joachim. It makes a sound kind of like "pap." -
(8:46:41 PM) Prof: Pap! Joachim doesn't seem to notice that he was just used as a platform.
(8:46:48 PM) Prof: Instead, he's going towards Barnaby, log at the ready!

(8:47:19 PM) Effy: Oh come on. He brings up the shard in order to defend himself.

(8:47:32 PM) Ethan: Karkat springboards toward boney's arm and starts hammering it indiscriminately with a bladed weapon. +
(8:47:54 PM) Prof: It holds, miraculously! Barnaby has a brief chance to get close to Joachim now, if he dares to try.

(8:48:32 PM) Effy: He brings up his leg to kick him away.
(8:48:42 PM) Ethan: (Wait, important retcon. The sound of Karkat's shoes on Joachim's head is shoosh. The sickle makes something slightly paplike.)

(8:48:51 PM) Prof: Ky falls to the ground, now free from the lich's grasp. That was painful, but he's not down for the count.
(8:49:07 PM) Ethan: (Very important.) Karkat poses with his sickle held high. YES.
(8:49:11 PM) Prof: The dracolich then looks intensely at Karkat's eyes.
(8:49:19 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Oh fuck."
(8:49:29 PM) Prof: And he feels a second mind competing for control of his body! It is an awfully familiar sensation.
(8:49:38 PM) Prof: And it's trying to move his arms to bring that sickle down on Ky.

(8:49:49 PM) Prof: meanwhile, Joachim is kicked out of his stupor!
(8:50:00 PM) Prof: The last minute or so seem like a blur.
(8:50:05 PM) Ethan: Karkat holds his sickle arm by the wrist with his left hand! "SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT RUN"

(8:50:34 PM) Chris: Ky climbs back to his feet and leaps back as far as his legs will propel him, blade ready to parry.
(8:50:58 PM) Foxfire: "Huh? What was that for-" oh wait, allies in trouble.
(8:51:04 PM) Lisa: Danny spots Karkat struggling and screaming, and then looks up at the dracolich. Back to Karkat, back to the lich.
(8:51:11 PM) Prof: Ky escaps just before Karkat's pop culture sickle comes down, and then Karkat manages to break the command!
(8:51:12 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Oh god oh man oh fuck if I impale somebody on my shitty merchandise sickle I'll be the worst leader of all time oh fuck why"
(8:51:14 PM) Prof: escapes*
(8:51:21 PM) Effy: Barnaby: "You were trying to smash my head in with a log."
(8:51:23 PM) Ethan: And suddenly, relief.
(8:51:33 PM) Lisa: Well, might as well try and take out the boss! Sort of. Danny flies up high and aims as strong an ecto-beam as he can muster straight at the creatures face. +
(8:51:53 PM) Prof: The dragon takes the hit right in the goddamn eye!
(8:52:10 PM) Lisa: Danny: "Yes!" Fistpump.
(8:52:10 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Take that you mind controlling piece of shit!"
(8:52:11 PM) Prof: It roars in pain as part of its face is shattered off, but the other eye is still glowing with malice as it counters with a shadow breath right back at him.
(8:52:11 PM) Foxfire: "That doesn't seem like something I would do!" He chucks his log at the dragon's head. +

(8:52:22 PM) Lisa: Danny: "---oh."
(8:52:50 PM) Effy: Barnaby: "You did. Fortunately, you're back to normal, and everyone else is in trouble."

(8:52:54 PM) Lisa: He goes intangible and moves back slightly, but is sure that his intangibility will keep him safe. Right? Intangibility fixes everything!

(8:53:25 PM) Prof: Fortunately, Joachim's log toss knocks the lich's head out of alighnment!
(8:53:39 PM) Prof: Danny is only grazed by the shadow beam, and instead of passing out, just feels weirdly disoriented for a moment.
(8:53:56 PM) Prof: At this point, the remaining ghosts have all fled in terror. Just bonesy left!

(8:54:48 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Okay, is everybody including me definitely not a helpless thrall to this skeletal asshole?"
(8:55:08 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "I think we should get that sorted out before the final stretch."
(8:55:11 PM) Effy: Barnaby: "Aside from my power having run out, I'm fine."
(8:55:53 PM) Lisa: Danny turns tangible again and shouts down to answer Karkat's question.
(8:56:09 PM) Lisa: Danny: "I got hit a little bit, but I'm fine!"
(8:56:11 PM) Foxfire: Joachim: "I'm feeling pretty good!"
(8:56:52 PM) Lisa: Danny: "And I think if we all attack it at once, that ought to do enough damage to take it out! or at least make it weak enough that it can't do anything more to us."

(8:59:31 PM) Effy: Of all times for his power to run out on him.
(9:00:54 PM) Kattu: Rin: "Good to know no one wants to quit this late into the battle. With the head in it's current condition, Rin's just going to focus on it with the same ice attack as before. Throwing the discs there, she'll focus primarily along the neck and jaw. -
(9:03:03 PM) Prof: Thee ice begins to spread across the neck, but the dracolich roars again, shattering the ice! Still, there are definitely some cracks that weren't there before...

(9:03:58 PM) Chris: At which point Ky leaps up at the neck. He generates a sphere of electricity in front of him, then stabs his sword through it.
(9:04:14 PM) Chris: End result? Bigass sword blade made of electricity jabbing the cracked neck.+
(9:05:01 PM) Prof: The dragon dodges to the side, the huge electricity blade tearing into its torso! The damage is still significant.
(9:06:12 PM) Prof: A bit off balance from its missing bits, it pounces towards Ky, aiming to snap him between its mighty jaws!

(9:07:49 PM) Prof: WOW that was close. If it still had all four legs and both eyes, it probably would've caught that.

(9:09:12 PM) Effy: Barnaby is just going to charge straight for the legs again, aiming to slash at it. As a note, he's not quite used to swordplay.
(9:09:18 PM) Ethan: Karkat charges forward in pretty much predictable fashion to try and sickle the head off. If he has any non-melee attacks he's going to enjoy remembering them. +

(9:10:41 PM) Foxfire: Joachim's weaponless again. He's just gonna CHARGE that thing and hope it breaks something, preferably on its end. +
(9:11:17 PM) Prof: The three melee attacks strike it in the leg, ribs, and neck! It isn't decapitated, but it's clearly on its last legs.

(9:16:00 PM) Prof: Which is why it roars, and starts radiating dark energy! It looks like it's charging to do something really horrible, so if you've got any cool attacks left, better use them NOW.

(9:16:39 PM) Ethan: Karkat looks at the impending attack nervously. Fuck it. He just throws his sickle at its face. +
(9:16:49 PM) Effy: Oh, now it's going down. Great, and all he has is a particularly sharp shard of bone.
(9:17:16 PM) Effy: Screw it. He's throwing it towards wherever it could deal the most damage.

(9:17:35 PM) Chris: He's got enough magic for one last overdrive. He draws a circle in the air with his left hand. A giant arrowhead of concentrated plasma appears, and Ky shoots it toward the dracolich with one stab from his sword. "SACRED EDGE!"+
(9:17:43 PM) Lisa: Danny wishes he had a stronger attack, but he doesn't. At least, not one he can remember. So he charges up in both hands the strongest ecto-blast he can possibly muster and shoots.
(9:18:01 PM) Lisa: The beam is continuous for about six seconds, before Danny is too exhausted to let it continue. +
(9:18:24 PM) Kattu: After evaluating the attacks from the others, Rin will just follow up with a handful of ice discs at whoever's looks like it dealt the most damage.+
(9:18:48 PM) Foxfire: Joachim finds the remains of his log and chucks it again. +
(9:18:58 PM) Prof: The attacks all collide as it charges, and...!
(9:19:02 PM) Prof: The dracolich explodes!
(9:19:11 PM) Prof: Ghostly energy and bone fragments fly everywhere.
(9:19:27 PM) Prof: One of them scratches across the back of Karkat's hand, drawing blood, but that aside, people are generally fine.

(9:19:46 PM) Ethan: ...
(9:20:02 PM) Ethan: Oh, thank god it's dark in the cave. He slams his hand in his pocket immediately.
(9:20:13 PM) Kattu: Rin: "Are you alright?" A good leader should show concern towards her party.
(9:20:17 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Hahahahaha mission accomplished!"
(9:20:28 PM) Prof: There's still that treasure hoard! And now it's unguarded.
(9:20:30 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Now we should all go home immediately without it being a big deal."
(9:20:34 PM) Effy: Barnaby: "Finally." His hair's gotten all mussed up.
(9:20:47 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Or I'll just go home, alone."
(9:20:47 PM) Prof: However, shortly after the dracolich is destroyed, the ground starts to rumble.
(9:21:00 PM) Prof: The cave is collapsing! Better grab that loot quick and get out of here.
(9:21:10 PM) Kattu: Rin: "But there's some neat stu--" Oh joy, rumbling. What a way to kill her excitement.
(9:21:33 PM) Chris: Ky makes a mad dash. No time to discern anemoi from gold, he just grabs an armful and bolts.
(9:21:37 PM) Lisa: Danny projects a shield--a wide one, big enough to cover several members of the party. Hopefully in case anything happens it can protect them.
(9:21:43 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Oh, shit."
(9:21:58 PM) Lisa: Danny: "This shield should keep everyone safe! Uh, I think."
(9:22:01 PM) Lisa: He's actually not sure.
(9:22:02 PM) Effy: Barnaby rushes off to get some as well, before running off. "Everyone, get out!"
(9:22:21 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Just grab some and let's fucking go!" With his free hand, he picks up exactly one Anemoi just so this wasn't a huge waste of time.
(9:22:41 PM) Foxfire: Joachim likewise grabs a handful and splits.
(9:23:01 PM) Kattu: Rin's just going to grab the obligatory chalice and scoops it full before taking off. Don't worry, she's not going to leave until she's sure everyone else has made it out.
(9:23:09 PM) Prof: Armfuls of gold, rubies and diamonds! This is going to rule!
(9:23:11 PM) Prof: As you make your daring escape, the cave collapses shut behind you!
(9:23:12 PM) Lisa: Oh, well then. Danny drops the shield, grabs some anemoi, and rushes out with the rest.
(9:23:19 PM) Prof: Then, as soon as it's exposed to open air
(9:23:25 PM) Prof: the treasure turns to dust.
(9:23:32 PM) Prof: Looks like it was fake after all.
(9:23:35 PM) Effy: Barnaby: "...you're kidding me."
(9:23:36 PM) Lisa: Danny: "What the--?!"
(9:23:36 PM) Prof: But... the Anemoi were real!
(9:23:45 PM) Prof: Just...nothing else.

(9:23:58 PM) Ethan: Karkat: "Hahaha, assholes. I got out with everything I grabbed."

(9:26:09 PM) Kattu: Those bruises on her butt sure as heck weren't from fake treaure. Guess Rin doesn't get her Holy Grail, but there's probably a piece of anemoi or two stuck in her thigh highs. With a yawn, she'll wave her hand.
(9:26:18 PM) Foxfire: Joachim will go through life assuming that he is one of Danny's local friends.
(9:26:29 PM) Kattu: Rin: "Well, that was more trouble than it was worth."
