        Marco made his way back home, taking in the familiar scenery as if he had seen it for the first time. He figured he should enjoy the feeling as long as it lasted. He'd finally done what he felt should have been done years ago. It felt fan-freaking-tastic. Marco started to skip the rest of the way much like how Star does when she walks, well, anywhere. Marco just didn't care who saw him.

"Yeah, that's it! Now just wear a dress and learn ballet, loser!" shouted a voice from the street. A limo had pulled up next to Marco, the window lowered and Jeremy popped his head out to taunt him. Marco just kept skipping on his merry way, all while casually giving Jeremy the middle finger. Jeremy, stunned silent, just looked on before he ordered his driver to step on the gas.

It wasn't long before he arrived home. As soon as he opened the front door, Marco's parents immediately knew something noticed something different about him. Marco skipped and hopped over to his parents who were on the couch watching TV and hugged them both from behind, all while having a dopey love stricken look on his face.

"Well! Someone's in a good mood," Marco's mother said to him.

"Yeah, did that rich kid you hate die or something?" His father asked.

"Nope, I met up with Jackie after school and she made my dreams come true." Marco whispered he sounded like Star when she talks about that freak Oskar.

Marco's parents just turned to look at each other in confused silence as Marco laid his head down between them from where he was standing from behind the couch.

"Son, did this Jackie girl flash you or something? " Marco's father asked in a confused tone. Marco's mother just hit him in the arm. "Ow! What? we're both thinking the same thing. At least I can say it out loud." he added while massaging his sore his arm.

"Nope... Even better." Marco whispered to himself quietly. However, he did have to stop to think. Was it really better? A date is great and all but boobs are boobs.

"I asked her out on a date and she actually said yes! I couldn't believe it." Marco finally said.

"Ooooh." his parents said in unison.

"What did Star say about it? Is she even cool with it?" Mrs. Diaz asked her son to his surprise.

"Pfft. As if I need Star's permission to go after my dream girl. Why would you even think that? But anyways she was the one who gave me the last push I needed. Honestly, as much as I wanted to do it today without her I'm thankful she was around." Marco answered adamantly.

"If everything goes well by this time Sunday, Marco Diaz will no longer be Marco Diaz! He'll be something else, something much better. I'll- no, we'll be like the school's power couple or something! I'm already thinking of couple name, Jarco has a nice ring to it doesn't it?" He said while making a pose as if he were giving a triumphant speech.

"That's an incredibly stupid name mi hijo. Good luck to you anyway!". Marco's dad said happily before returning his attention back to the TV.

Marco made a face and walked off. They'd come around to it in time. No one can deny the Jarco. Resistance is futile.

"How about you, mom? You're happy for me too, right?"

"Oh of course I am precious, just be sure to treat her right like how you do Star. Do that and I'm sure you two will just be adorable together." Mrs. Diaz replied.

"Oh, uh, yeah. Sure. Totally." Marco said and headed upstairs.

"Why do I have a feeling things are gonna get weird around here?" Mrs. Diaz asked her husband.

"Baby, are you just barely realizing that now? Last week Star turned the living room into a water park. I'm hoping things get less weird now."

Mrs. Diaz groaned in disapproval. "Still I can't help but feel a little uneasy, I was pulling for him and Star bu-"

"Aww honey, he's 14 there's nothing much you can do about it. If he's anything like me, he's gonna have a line of girls at his doorstep a mile long. Jackie and Star are just big fish in a small pond." Mr. Diaz mused.

"Is that suppose to make me feel better?" she asked.

"Marco just needs to live his life, mistakes and all. Everything will sort out for him in the end; just look at me out of all the fish that swam near my lure. You were the only one who took the bait and that turned out pretty great." Mr. Diaz added while giving his a hug, who then rolled her eyes. There's a reason why Marco's father never made it far in the greeting card writing industry.


Marco was upstairs in his room, thinking of where he could take Jackie and what he would say to her. He knew better than to say things like 'I love you' on the first date. It didn't work on shows like How I Met Your Mother and it definitely wouldn't work this early. He sat on the edge of his bed to sift through his thoughts when something suddenly occurred to him. He does better when he's not over-thinking things like WAY better. With that Marco came to the conclusion that he wouldn't overthink and instead just go with the flow. it got him a date and maybe doing so will actually get him a girlfriend. One thing that did bother him was that he needed Star to get the ball rolling. While Marco was undoubtedly grateful for her help, this was just one of those things he'd have to figure out for himself.


 Now was the time for Marco Diaz to spread his wings. He could fly or crash but in either scenario it would be on his terms. And he was certain Star wouldn't mind this. As they say in relationships, three's a crowd. Or just two people short of a good orgy according to our friends at 4chan. Marco concluded that he should be a bit cautious of the terminology he uses around her, the last thing he needed was her throwing him out a window expecting him to soar like a newborn ponyhead. Again, once is enough. Marco barely finished his thought when his favorite princess kicked open his bedroom door. Marco was certain if you said or even thought her name enough times Star would appear to you like Beetlejuice.

"ALRIGHT DIAZ, SPIT IT OUT. YOU GOTTA TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED!" She shouted excitedly. Marco looked down and noticed she let laser puppies in with her who instantly jumped on Marco.

"You're never gonna believe it Star, but it actually worked! I talked to her and we have a date tomorrow night!" Marco told her as he rubbed one of the puppies chin who then blasted him in the face, but Marco is so used to it it just tickles now.

"AHHHH OHMYGOSH AHHH" screamed Star as well as other squeals of glee that couldn't entirely be put into words. She then jumped on Marco and gave him a tight bear hug. Luckily the laser puppy that was on Marco's lap jumped out of the way in the nick of time. Marco hugged her back, least he could do for all the help she's been.

"I knew you could do it, safe kid. Now just seal the deal, make me proud." Star said while squeezing him.

"Thanks for believing in me Star, I'll try my best to make it work" Marco told her as Star eased up her grip.

"If you waaant I can tag along. If I see you get nervous I'll steer your bony butt back in the right direction!" She said with a smile on her face.

"I appreciate it, Star. I really do, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to handle this one on my own. Gotta make our relationship work without the training wheels, so maybe just sit this one out ok?" Marco was trying his hardest not to sound rude.

"Sure thing, homie. I was just asking in case you were too stubborn to ask me for help yourself." Star replied while gently tapping Marco's head.

Marco smiled. "Thanks for understanding, I'll tell you about it afterward. Promise." Star got off him and looked him right in the eye.

"Just keep the gross stuff to yourself, I don't wanna know what military outpost you get to her with," Star said making a face of disgust, but Marco just laughed.

"I think you mean base." Marco said still laughing.

"Whatevs. You're the general. You can call it whatever you want. Just wait till I'm out of the room, okay?"

The both had a good laugh, and each scooped up a few  laser puppies and headed downstairs for dinner.
