/vp/OC Tournament Rules

This is the thread that hosts the monthly /vp/OCT (original character tournament). We all make an OC and a team and we fight until there is one person standing.

>How will the rounds work?
Because so few people are able to draw, we will be deviating from the typical OCT format. Everyone will battle in showdown with a little RP in the chat. You win the battle, you move on to the next round. You lose, you can still crash other people’s rounds and RP in their chat too so that your character is still relevant.

>RP? Ok, so what is the story.
Everyone is battling in a battle factory knock off. That’s it.

>Any other rules?
One of the measures to stop this from being just a normal tournament in showdown is that everyone will start with teams of 2 or 3 pokemon and the winner of each round will add 1 or 2 of the loser’s pokemon to his/her team. The number of pokemon that people start with and are allowed to take will depend on how many people sign up.

>Does the winner have to use the same set that the loser used?
Yes, it will make things more interesting and have continuity on the RP side of things.

NO! No legendary pokemon.

>This sounds stupid. How do I join?
Reply to this message with an image of your OC, the sets for a team of 3 pokemon, and make sure that the first 2 are the ones that you plan to use should you only be allowed 2. Secure trip codes are encouraged so we can know who you are later.

>How will you pick who gets in?
A 3rd party has agreed to look over the possible contestants and judge them so we can get a nice even number of 4 8, 16, or 32. The 3rd party has been informed to value over powered and boring teams less than others, so keep that in mind when making a team and OC.
