  1. ## Intro?
  2. \g[Chamber]
  3. \f[2|Owen]\f[6|Oscar]\f[5|Frederica]\f[1|Shane]
  4. \w[8]
  5. \s[2]
  6. Thank you for coming on such short notice,\n
  7. Generals Shane and Oscar. And you too, Regent.|
  8.
  9. \s[5]\b[5|2]
  10. We've been over this before, Owen\n
  11. dearest.\b[5|0] That word makes me feel\n
  12. like someone's servant. Rika is fine.|
  13.
  14. \s[2]
  15. Apologies. I've had a lot to think\n
  16. about these past few days.|
  17.
  18. \s[5]
  19. I understand. You're missing your dear friend\n
  20. Sawyer, aren't you? How long has it been since\n
  21. he and his retainer disappeared into the night?|
  22.
  23. ## Annoyed?
  24. \s[1]\b[1|1]
  25. I mean no disrespect, Federica, but I was\n
  26. told we were having a war council this evening.\n
  27. I wasn't anticipating a therapy session.|
  28. \s[-2]
  29.
  30. \b[1|0]
  31. \s[1]
  32. Lord Owen, if you would so kindly\n
  33. begin? There is work to be done.|
  34.
  35. \s[2]\m[2|2]
  36. Right, of course. Apologies, General Shane.|\n
  37. I've brought you all here tonight because I\n
  38. believe that I may have found the perfect\n
  39. solution for dealing with Arynden.|
  40.
  41. \s[6]\e[6|1]
  42. Astounding! Do tell, Lord Owen.|
  43.
  44. \s[2]
  45. I don't think we need to argue the point\n
  46. that we are outmatched against Arynden.\e[6|0]\n
  47. Their military outclasses ours tenfold.|\n
  48. We are hanging on solely from terrain\n
  49. advantages at our borders and the\n
  50. sheer willpower of our soldiers.|\n
  51. But, are any of you aware of the nation that\n
  52. supplies Arynden with powerful weaponry?|
  53.
  54. \s[6]
  55. That's a simple question, Owen.\n
  56. I expected better of you, even\n
  57. if you're only a baron.|\n
  58. It's Toska, of course. Far up to the\n
  59. north, where snow falls year-round.|
  60.
  61. \s[2]
  62. Right you are, General Oscar.\n
  63. Arynden's Greatest Trade Partner.|\n
  64. If we are to defeat Arynden, we are\n
  65. going to need to quash their supply\n
  66. routes and gain considerable new forces.|
  67.
  68. \s[1]\e[1|2]
  69. And how do you suggest we accomplish either? The\n
  70. civil war cut our strength in half. And Toska's seas\n
  71. are patrolled by the greatest navy the world over.|\n
  72. Blockading them would be sending men to their deaths.\n
  73. And Arynden will be at our gates within a fortnite.|
  74.
  75. \s[2]
  76. ... Rika? If you will.|
  77.
  78. \s[5]
  79. Yes, Owen.|
  80. \s[-2]
  81.
  82. \e[1|0]
  83. \w[16]
  84. \m[5|5]\w[4]
  85. \s[5]
  86. Gentlemen, do you know what these are?|
  87.
  88. \s[6]
  89. ... Letters? Wait, is that...|
  90.
  91. \s[1]
  92. This wax seal... It's the Tsarina's Shield!\m[1|1]\n
  93. These are Toskan communications!|
  94.
  95. \s[5]
  96. Right you are. It seems Sebastian\n
  97. had a friend up north. A spy who has\n
  98. been feeding him Toska's latest gossip.|\n
  99. What I find quite interesting, is\n
  100. the sheer amount of Civil Unrest.|
  101.
  102. \s[1]
  103. Hold on, does that mean--|
  104.
  105. \s[5]
  106. Ahem! Wait your turn, please.|
  107. \s[-2]
  108.
  109. \s[5]
  110. According to these letters, the people of Toska\n
  111. are starving. Whispers of a "resistance group"\n
  112. are reaching ears in places high and low.|\n
  113. The Toskan aristocracy has yet to find them,\n
  114. but our spy believes some of them may reside\n
  115. in a small settlement by the name of Nevynsk.|\e[5|1]\n
  116. Which brings us to the plan. Owen, the floor is yours.|
  117.
  118. \s[1]\e[1|2]
  119. Rrg...|
  120. \s[-2]
  121.
  122. \e[5|0]
  123.
  124. \s[2]
  125. Toska sends very few vessels to patrol\n
  126. the stretch of their border where the\n
  127. mountains and ocean overlap.|\n
  128. What I propose is we sail a nondescript\n
  129. ship out into those waters with a task force.|\n
  130. Once a lone Toskan vessel boards for inspection,\n
  131. we strike and take out the crewmates and captain.|\n
  132. From there, we can sail it into one of\n
  133. the less-populated port towns and travel\n
  134. to the spy's last known location on foot.|\n
  135. Which just so happens to be Nevynsk.|
  136. \s[-2]
  137.
  138. \s[6]
  139. So, this spy and the resistance\n
  140. reside in the same place...|
  141.
  142. \m[1|1]\s[1]
  143. What you're advocating is suicide!\n
  144. Toska is ironclad! If you got caught,\n
  145. your forces would be swiftly put down!|\n
  146. Not to mention your men would freeze\n
  147. to death in the extreme conditions!|\n
  148. Regent Federica, how could you be entertaining\n
  149. this notion! Lord Owen's plot is madness!|
  150.
  151. \s[5]
  152. General Shane, your concern is appreciated.|\n
  153. But, if there's anyone that can take on Toska,\n
  154. it's Owen and the remainder of Belle's army.\n
  155. As a matter of fact--|
  156. \s[-2]
  157.
  158. \event
  159. ## Music Change? idk
  160.
  161. \f[0|Oona]\m[0|3]\w[4]
  162. \s[3]
  163. D-duchess Frederica!|
  164.
  165. \s[1]\m[1|1]
  166. Excuse me!? This is a private meeting--|
  167.
  168. \s[5]
  169. Hold, General! Goodness, Oona! You're\n
  170. as pale as a sheet! What's going on?|
  171.
  172. \s[3]
  173. I apologize for interrupting, but Belle\n
  174. is in serious pain! It started so suddenly,\n
  175. and nothing I've done is helping! I--|
  176.
  177. \s[5]
  178. Don't say another word, I'm right behind you.|\n
  179. You three: I want a completed strategy\n
  180. written up within the night. That's an order.|
  181. \s[-2]
  182.
  183. \f[3|nil]\f[5|nil]
  184. \w[16]
  185. \r[1]
  186. \w[32]
  187. \s[1]
  188. Great, you two planned this,\n
  189. didn't you? Now we have no choice\n
  190. but to entertain this asinine idea.|
  191.
  192. \s[6]
  193. General Shane, enough.\n
  194. You're embarrassing yourself.|
  195. \s[-2]
  196.
  197. \r[1]\s[1]
  198. What? Oscar, you too?|
  199. \s[-2]
  200.
  201. \event
  202. ## Music Change?
  203.
  204. \m[6|5]\w[5]
  205. \s[5]
  206. Contrary to Lord Owen's initial statement, this\n
  207. plan is far from perfect. However, a covert\n
  208. operation performed by a small group has merit.|\n
  209. If Owen successfully incites a rebellion, Toska's\n
  210. greatest strength becomes its greatest weakness.|\n
  211. Seneca's downfall has demonstrated how effective\n
  212. such a strategy can be.|
  213.
  214. \s[1]\m[1|1]
  215. Oscar, it's not the same. Arynden tied up Seneca's\n
  216. hands, distracting him from hunting Belle successfully.|\n
  217. However, Toska's vast armies are all garrisoned,\n
  218. ready and waiting. There's no sneaking through a\n
  219. forest when the trees themselves are watching!|
  220.
  221. \s[5]
  222. I believe that is what the rebels are for, Shane.|
  223.
  224. \s[2]
  225. Perhaps we should discuss this elsewhere?|
  226.
  227. \s[1]
  228. ... Fine. I shall find a minute taker, then.\n
  229. Follow me, lest we have anymore interruptions.|
  230. \s[-2]
  231.
  232. \f[1|nil]
  233. \w[32]
  234.
  235. \f[2|nil]\f[5|nil]
  236.
  237. ## Next Convo
  238.
  239. \g[Dungeon]
  240. \f[5|Owen]\f[2|Oscar]\w[16]
  241. \f[1|Shane]
  242.
  243. \f[1|Shane]
  244. \s[1]
  245. There. No one should bother us here.|
  246.
  247. \s[5]
  248. Thank you, Generals. Now, General\n
  249. Oscar, what are your biggest concerns?|
  250.
  251. \s[2]
  252. Yes, I briefly scanned over these letters.|\n
  253. While Queen Belle's unit is skilled and diverse,\n
  254. this plan relies heavily on many uncertainties.|\n
  255. It hinges on the testimony of a spy, who answers\n
  256. to a traitor, and the letters' informal tone suggests\n
  257. the rebellion might not have gained traction.|\n
  258. Additionally, there's a chance the spy has\n
  259. already left Nevynsk, leaving us stranded.|
  260.
  261. \s[1]
  262. Excellent Point, General Oscar. So,\n
  263. Owen, what if there is no rebellion?|
  264.
  265. \s[5]
  266. Then we go to the capital, Yuvelir,\n
  267. and kill the Tsarina.|
  268.
  269. \s[1]\b[1|2]
  270. Tch. More madness... Have you no limits?|
  271. \s[-2]
  272.
  273. \s[5]
  274. Nevynsk is on the way to the capital. If we fail to\n
  275. make contact, we could sneak into Castle Yuvelir.|\n
  276. The chaos of losing Tsarina Laika would plunge\n
  277. Toska into chaos. A power struggle would ensue,\n
  278. effectively halting weapon shipments to Arynden.|
  279. \s[-2]
  280.
  281. \w[16]
  282.
  283. \b[1|0]\w[16]
  284. \s[1]
  285. Minute-taker, pause here, and\n
  286. hand me your notes if you will.|
  287. \s[-2]
  288.
  289. \f[6|PriestM-0]\fc[6|Fortuita]\name[6|Minute Taker]
  290. \s[6]
  291. Of course, General Shane.|
  292. \s[-2]
  293.
  294. \m[6|4]\w[32]
  295. \m[4|4]
  296. \w[64]
  297. \f[4|nil]
  298. \w[16]
  299.
  300. \s[1]
  301. ... Lord Owen, General Oscar, do you\n
  302. see this report? Do you know what\n
  303. happens if we sign, and Owen fails?|
  304.
  305. \s[5]
  306. ... ... ...|
  307.
  308. \s[1]\e[1|2]
  309. Doom, gentlemen. The Toskan's will not allow\n
  310. an assassination attempt to go unpunished.|\n
  311. They will declare war. And Fortuita will\n
  312. become a memory. Do you understand?|
  313.
  314. \s[2]
  315. General Shane. Arynden's boot is already on\n
  316. our throat. While Owen's plan is extremely\n
  317. risky, his success could help break us free.|
  318.
  319. \s[1]\e[1|0]
  320. Bah. Owen, do you understand?|
  321.
  322. \s[5]
  323. I understand that Oberon has the\n
  324. Staff. Fortuita may already be doomed.\n
  325. All we have left now is faith, Generals.|
  326.
  327. \s[1]
  328. Sigh. Then whatever faith I\n
  329. have left, is yours.|
  330.
  331. \s[2]
  332. Mine as well.|
  333.
  334. \s[5]\b[5|2]\m[5|5]
  335. Thank you, Generals.\b[5|0] I promise you, our\n
  336. skill and determination will win this war.|
  337.
  338. \s[1]
  339. I'm sure you think that.|\r[1]\n
  340. Minute-taker, your notes.|
  341. \s[-2]
  342.
  343. \w[16]
  344.
  345. \r[1]\f[4|PriestM-0]\fc[4|Fortuita]\name[4|Minute-Taker]
  346. \w[8]
  347. \s[4]
  348. Thank you, General.|
  349. \s[-2]
  350.
  351. \m[4|6]\o[5]\w[16]
  352.
  353. \s[1]
  354. We will not be accompanying you,\n
  355. in the event this contingency you're\n
  356. attempting to buy us fails.|\n
  357. Now, if we're finished here, I have\n
  358. a report to finish for the regent.|\e[1|2]\n
  359. If you would so kindly gather up\n
  360. your forces and depart immediately,\n
  361. I would greatly appreciate it.|
  362.
  363. \s[5]
  364. That was my intention. Good evening, Generals.|
  365. \s[-2]
  366.
  367. ## Next Scene
  368. \g[Courtyard]
  369. \r[3]\f[3|Charles]\f[1|Eli]\w[16]\w[8]
  370. \f[6|Owen]\m[6|5]\w[4]
  371. \r[3]\m[3|2]\w[4]
  372. \s[1]
  373. Welcome back, Milord. Did the\n
  374. generals end up listening to you?|
  375.
  376. \s[5]\b[5|2]
  377. I had to drag them kicking and screaming into\n
  378. it,\b[5|0] but the plan has been ratified by what\n
  379. remains of the council. We're in the clear.|
  380.
  381. \s[1]
  382. I figured that would be the case.|\n
  383. I've already informed the others of the\n
  384. plan, and we're set to depart to the port\n
  385. town of Altier first thing tomorrow morning.|
  386.
  387. \s[5]
  388. Excellent. Now, get some rest while\n
  389. you can. We're going to have a rough\n
  390. few weeks ahead of us.|
  391.
  392. \s[2]
  393. ... Did something happen with\n
  394. Belle during the meeting?|
  395.
  396. \s[5]
  397. Yes, her condition had worsened, fortunately\n
  398. Oona and Federica stabilized her. Rest easy\n
  399. Charles, Belle is in capable hands.|
  400.
  401. \s[2]
  402. ... That's good then, I suppose...\n
  403. I just hope she'll be alright...|
  404.
  405. \s[1]
  406. Charles, You know what she'd want you\n
  407. to do now? Focus on the road ahead.|\n
  408. Come on, let's ensure she wakes up\n
  409. to news of our victory.|
  410.
  411. \s[5]
  412. Elijah's right, I've known Belle for\n
  413. much longer than you, Charles. She's\n
  414. one of the toughest people I've ever met.|\n
  415. She doesn't need your worries, but we\n
  416. do need your axe.|
  417.
  418. \s[1]
  419. You're right, thanks you two.|
  420.
  421. \s[5]
  422. Don't mention it.|
  423. \s[-2]
  424.
