Mozu argument

I've seen a lot of shit fly around Mozu over the time of arguing about tiering, and while I agree Mozu is a subpar unit I have one gripe with her placement at the bottom on your list; mainly, that Odin is above her. I'm sorry, WHAT? Have you actually looked at how these characters compare to each other, or are you just auto-assuming Mozu is worse because "lol trainee"? Let's take a little look so this BS about her somehow being worse than Odin can die for good.

Mozu's pretty much deadweight in her Paralogue, granted. 1-2RKO'd, does piddles for damage, all that stuff. At best she could get close to 1 level if you burn the boss enough for her and have Silas or Elise help get her up there.

Deploying her in Chapter 8 can be iffy since it means benching someone (if Mozu is deployed probably Effie), but if she is deployed she actually doesn't do horribly, especially since she now has access to Tonics. Base Mozu with a Brass Naginata, Strength/Speed Tonics and Arthur pairup is 16 atk and 11 AS, which cleanly ORKOs the Fail Mages who are at a pretty measly 22 HP, 5 AS and 5 Defense, and since she's 4-5 levels lower than them at this point she's getting a boatload of XP for each one, leveling up every other kill for at least a couple of levels. After 2 points of Speed (which is likely to happen pretty quickly due to lol 75% growth) she also doubles the Fighters on the map too, going from a 4RKO to a 2RKO on them on them. This is actually very acceptable offense, on par with Effie and Arthur at this point easily, but the negative is of course her defense, since she's also 2RKO'd by everything on the map on the same token even with Tonics. One step at a time here.

Also I know people will probably say "why not just slap Arthur on Silas since he does the same thing except better and on a mount" but guess what, that's why Silas is A tier and Mozu is D tier! Just because other units can do something better doesn't mean Mozu should be discredited for when she does do things decently! Silas is still great in this chapter even without Arthur too, he just goes from ORKOs on the Fighters to 2RKOs.

Compare this to Odin, now. I know people will say it's not fair to consider this since Odin doesn't have access to Tonics yet, but that's the thing; it's not that we're not giving them to him, he just doesn't catch up! The only comparable pairup boost for Odin compared to Arthur at this point is Jakob/Felicia (assuming they aren't reclassed yet), who will always be glued to Corrin due to their personal and Odin has basically no case to take them away (granted this can be true for Mozu when it comes to Arthur too, but I'd argue Silas doesn't miss Arthur's boost as much as Corrin does Jakob/Felicia). Effie doesn't really benefit him, and there's no way Niles or Silas are being pairup bots at this point either. Odin rocks 7 AS, 9 with a Niles pairup, which without a Tonic is not enough to double anything on the map, not even the Fail Mages. This is ALREADY worse offense than Mozu has, even taking into account 1-2 range. He only 4RKOs the Fail Mages with his base Thunder Tome, and only 4RKOs the Fighters as well. Granted Odin has the vice of not needing to be in range of the Fighters to damage them, but in terms of pure offense he is worse!

So now we're at the end of the chapter. Assuming she actively killed things Mozu is likely around level 5 or 6, maaaybe 7 if we push it since she gets to ORKO Fail Mages, while Odin is still at his base or (slightly) possibly at the low end of level 6.

Level 6 Mozu has 18 HP, 9 Str, 10 AS, and 6 Defense, with a very high chance of already having 11 AS and 7 Defense. Odin has 21 HP, 8 Mag, 7 AS, and 6 Defense. Mozu is already beating Odin in offense (even harder since she's likely nearing D Lances soon, if she's not already there, which means she gets Javelins soon as well), and her defense isn't that far behind either!

On to Chapter 9. A little tougher for Mozu here, since she does worse against the Spear Fighters due to not doubling without an extra Speed point (granted it's a high chance, but still). Mozu with an Iron Lance and Strength Tonic at this point is 18 Atk, which on the Lancers' 25 HP/11 AS/10 Def is a 4RKO, with Arthur this is a 3RKO. At least she isn't 2-shotted with Tonics for once. She destroys the Archers however, since they're at a pretty measly 8 AS and 8 Defense which is a clean ORKO with a Arthur pairup.

Odin doesn't do awful here either granted. Level 6 Odin with a Mag Tonic is 9 Mag, which with his Thunder tome is a 3RKO on the Spear Fighters and Archers. However, Odin now has competition in the form of Nyx. Nyx, as many know, is far from being a good unit herself. How does Nyx fare against Odin, then? 12 Mag vs 10, 11 AS vs 9, C rank vs D. Nyx is already beating Odin in offense, BEFORE TONICS ARE EVEN AVAILABLE EASILY TO HER! Heck she's already a Niles pairup away from doubling the Archers, something Odin only wishes he could do too.

So chapter end, and I have a question; do I really need to keep going with this? Mozu is now probably around the higher end of level 8 or so since she's starting to slow down in levels a touch, and is still getting stronger due to her growths. Meanwhile Odin, who has likely gained 1-2 levels at most thus far, is already irrelevant thanks to Nyx! How does any of this sound like Odin is the better unit than Mozu again? She's been beating him out of the gate, and the gap only gets bigger the longer it goes on!

I'm not saying Mozu is good mind you, she's very worthy of D tier even if it sounds like I was overselling her a bit here, but she's definitely not the absolute worst in Conquest as long as Odin is around. 1-2 range only does so much to salvage a unit when everything else about them is trash.

Also this completely disregards the dumbass "BUT ARCHER" argument since Mozu taking a Seal from Jakob or Camilla is pretty hilarious (that and I think Archer is an overrated class in Fates anyways).
