  1. Item #: SCP-T-001
  2.
  3. Object Class: Safe
  4.
  5. Special Containment Procedures: SCP-T-001 should be housed in a modified humanoid containment cell with living, fruit-bearing plants inside, but is to be allowed to roam freely during the day and interact with staff if it so pleases. It should be put away for the night each night at sundown and securely contained within the cell until sunrise of the following morning. SCP-T-001 may request reading materials from the staff once per week, and said materials are to be evaluated and screened by both research and security staff both before delivery and after reclamation. Staff wishing to consult with SCP-T-001 may do so during the day, or per the agreement of SCP-T-001, may do so under observation within the holding cell at night. Under no circumstances is SCP-T-001 to be removed from the premises of Site-17.
  6.
  7. Description: SCP-T-001 appears as a small mammal, having been described as a "bipedal cross between a fox and a bat." SCP-T-001 has shown the ability to create small bursts of light near itself, which it can then move around and control without direct interaction. In addition, it has been seen to create small, short-lived sparks and flames from its hands at will, without the need for combustible material. SCP-T-001 is a bipedal creature, but often prefers to navigate by hovering around using its wings, in a manner similar to a bumblebee.
  8.
  9. SCP-T-001 refers to itself as "Skye" and often requests that staff do the same. Questions regarding the origin of SCP-T-001 are often dodged, but when answered are often answered with cryptic references to a "host", leaving senior researchers to believe that it was a parasitic or commensualistic creature in an earlier, larva-like stage. SCP-T-001 itself neither confirms nor denies these claims. SCP-T-001 appears to harbor no ill will towards any staff member or other humans, but it will zealously hunt down, kill and eat other small animals such as rodents or some birds.
  10.
  11. SCP-T-001 possesses human-like intelligence and has a firm grasp on the English language. It can both speak and read easily in English, but seems to have no knowledge of other languages and cannot write. It has stated that it greatly enjoys speaking to other living beings and upon requesting freedom to roam and speak to staff, was granted permission to do so. Subjects report feelings of peace and happiness after conversing with SCP-T-001 for extended periods of time.
  12.
  13. Biopsy analysis of SCP-T-001 remains inconclusive, matching no known DNA samples from any breed of animal currently discovered. Curiously, the exact genetic code of SCP-T-001 seems to vary slightly with each test administered, leading to speculation of extreme short-term adaptive evolution. Further research is required.
