dragomorph: The ruins are pretty bog standard, if perhaps slightly in worse shape than normal; you can tell the ceiling's crumbling in parts, and plants grow all over it.
dragomorph: However, you can hear flies buzzing around something somewhere.
shinigamikitsune: Hector glances about, holding a long metal pipe across his shoulders.
EricOverbringer: Dave picks his way through the swamp, trying to stick to the drier, stabler bits of ground
EricOverbringer: Dave: "This place is awesome. Real life of the party."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: Just gotta watch for leeches. Maybe snakes.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Hey, at least it's a little more exciting than the usual ruins we get around here! There's a swamp in this one and everything."
unfingsalmon: Danny says this while he's flying in mid-air, completely safe and dry from the murky ground.
dragomorph: If you close in on the location of the flies, you'll realize there's something definitely odd about this exposition:
AlopexPlasma: Joachim's splashing on without a care. "Maybe we'll find alligators! I've always wanted to wrestle one of those!"
dragomorph: There's a monster over here.  Dead.  Looks like gunshot wounds.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Seriously...? Huh. Looks like someone got to it first."
shinigamikitsune: He pokes the body with the pipe.
unfingsalmon: Danny flies closer to it, holding a glowing green hand to it to shine more light on it.
dragomorph: It's decreased.  It's gone to meet its maker.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Looks like it was shot by someone--more than once, too."
EricOverbringer: (What kind of monster?)
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Know anyone good with a gun?"
EricOverbringer: Dave shrugs
unfingsalmon: Danny: "I think Gordon is? I know he can use some, anyway. But I don't think he did this--after all, why would he?"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "Nobody in the League uses them."

EricOverbringer: Dave: "You can wrestle that one if you want."

shinigamikitsune: Hector just stares at him.
AlopexPlasma: He stoops to pick up the gator.
EricOverbringer: "Um... Okay."
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "A brutal life cut short at it's peak!"
EricOverbringer: "Do that."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "What? That's disgusting! I don't think rigor mortis even set in! It'll just flop about!"
dragomorph: ***You have acquired one (1) dead gator monster.***
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "And yet, the danger lives on in it's mighty heft!"
unfingsalmon: Danny quietly facepalms in the background. He doesn't think he'll ever get used to Joachim.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "...And it flops? Excellent! I'll use it as a whip!"
unfingsalmon: Danny shakes his head.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "That's not the-"
AlopexPlasma: He swings the tail around experimentally. "Not bad! Not bad at all!"
shinigamikitsune: He scoots out of the way. Man is crazy.
unfingsalmon: Danny goes intangible to avoid the gator.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Joachim, you may want to save the swinging for when we actually need to fight something--not including ourselves."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Uh... let's keep going."
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "If you say so!" He slings it over his shoulder. Whoever's walking behind him from now on is gonna have to deal with it corpsily staring at them.
dragomorph: A little bit of extra exploration reveals the entrance to the ruins.  It also reveals that there are two men standing in front of it, and the door is broken down.
dragomorph: Apparently, whoever killed the monster is still there.
unfingsalmon: Danny approaches the two men.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Hey, uh...what's going on here?"
dragomorph: The men look at them.  "Nothing you need to be concerned about.  Begone."
dragomorph: "That means GIT."
shinigamikitsune: Hector had hung back to observe until Danny spoke. Oh well, in for a nickel.
unfingsalmon: Danny is not impressed, and he certanly doesnt look the part either, with crossed arms.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Who are you guys supposed to be, anyway?"
dragomorph: "None of your business!  Now leave, before we have to get serious!"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "I think creepy ruins and crocodiles shot to death are totally my business. You know, as part of the Justice League and everything."
unfingsalmon: Much more of this and he's going to just say 'fuq da police' and go in anyway. As if they could really stop him.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "We do outnumber you, you know. And we're pretty nosy! Why don't you just step aside and let us through?"
shinigamikitsune: Hector slides the pipe down, rolling his eyes. Should've known by Joachim, Crocodile Swinger that subtly is not the group's strongpoint.
dragomorph: "Aw crap!  The Justice League!  Lady Misery isn't gonna like this one -- " "Shhh!  Damnit, now they know her name, you moron!  Ain't got a choice now!"
dragomorph: They raise their guns.  Look like it's a fight.
dragomorph: (Danny, Joachim, Hector, Dave)
dragomorph: (Danny)
unfingsalmon: Aw hell naw. Danny flies up a bit higher and fires up his hands, ectoplasmic energy ready to be fired. He doesn't shoot first, though. No, he's giving them the benefit of the doubt first.
unfingsalmon: +
dragomorph: Probably should have been a bit more certain.  One of them raises his gun and tries to fire at Danny.  The other aims towards Joachim and shoots.
dragomorph: (Danny, Joachim react)
unfingsalmon: Danny easily goes intangible and allows the bullet to pass through him. Once he goes solid again, he aims one hand and fires a ray of ectoplasmic energy at the man who shot at him. +
AlopexPlasma: Joachim shifts the crocodile into a more shielding position.
AlopexPlasma: Whether he gets hit or not, he's still gonna charge the pair, swinging the monster like a flail.
AlopexPlasma: Side note, he's also trying to knock at least one of them closer to the other two on foot. Tactics! +
dragomorph: These two are a real duo. The first guy tries to dodge the blast -- and runs into the other guy trying to dodge away from JOACHIM.
dragomorph: And then they both get smacked by Joachim.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Wow. That wasn't very hard."
dragomorph: They don't seem fully out of it yet, though.  One of them staggers up.  "W-warn Lady Misery!"  I'll hold them off!"
dragomorph: (Joachim)
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Oh. Guess I spoke too soon!"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim's going to go for the sheesh, just kick the mook down again. +
AlopexPlasma: "Who's holding who off, here?"
AlopexPlasma: *down again option
dragomorph: Splash.  He groans, holding the side where he got kicked.  The other one is attempting to scramble further inside.
unfingsalmon: Danny aims and fires at the ground right in front of the one trying to escape.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "You're not getting away that easy!"
EricOverbringer: (Turn order!)
dragomorph: The first guy stops short, yelping, then turns around, aiming his gun again at Danny and shooting.
dragomorph: Meanwhile...
dragomorph: (Hector)
shinigamikitsune: "Welp. Their boss must've found them in the -" Hector trails off as he feels something by his foot, he glances down and notices a snake slithering. he quickly uses his pipe to lift it up and away from him.
shinigamikitsune: He didn't know what species it was and didn't care, but likely the guard's not going to be a herpetologist, so he gave his pipe a swing and flings it right at the man. "Catch!"+
dragomorph: The man yelps, swinging his gun barrel at the snake desperately.  The other man forces himself to his knee and tries to shoot Joachim again.
dragomorph: (Joachim react)
AlopexPlasma: Joachim slams the gator on him again. He's been shot before, he doesn't give too many fucks about  that sort of thing. +
dragomorph: Yeah, that one's kind of out for the count.  The other one's managed to bat the snake away and is running again.
dragomorph: (Dave)
EricOverbringer: Dave hops back in time to a few days ago, jogs over to behind where the two guards will be, then warps back to the present. From everyone else's point of view, he vanished, then reappeared behind them. Putting him in perfect position to sweep the legs out from under the fleeing guard. Which is what he does.,+
EricOverbringer: He would have gone for smacking him on the head, but he's not tall enough
dragomorph: Annnnd thwap.  The other one hits his head on the way down and is out for the count.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "What just-?"
EricOverbringer: Dave: "I'll tell you later."
EricOverbringer: "Isn't Misery some weird witch lady?"
EricOverbringer: "All cooking children and cursing princes and shit?"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "There's a lot of those, and I don't remember any of them being named Misery."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Kind of an absurd thing to say. But Misery isn't exactly a nice name."
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "She wasn't one of those goofy supervillains, was she?"
EricOverbringer: Dave: "None of them were smart enough to have henchmen."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Goofy what?"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "I don't think so."
EricOverbringer: Dave: "I'll tell you later"
dragomorph: Further in reveals more signs of interaction -- a busted trap here, another dead monster there, and so on and so forth.  It's pretty obvious those two weren't alone.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "So what they're after? more anemoi?" He treads cautiously when he sees a busted trap.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "What's so important down here, anyway?"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "It's a creepy old ruin! There's always something important in places like this!"
dragomorph: You can see a larger room ahead -- and also signs of movement.  It looks like there are some more soldiers in there -- some patrolling, some rooting about.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Yeah, but what's so special about this ruin instead of all the other ones?"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "I bet we're going to find out!"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "--Whoa. Looks like we'll have to be on guard!"
unfingsalmon: Danny fires up another hand with ectoplasmic energy, keeping it at the ready.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "I'm surprised they haven't come this way with how loud you two have been talking, now pipe down."
dragomorph: One of them starts looking in your direction!  Hide/confront?
EricOverbringer: Dave strolls along behind them, hands in his pockets
EricOverbringer: Dave: *audibly* "Oh hey, a whole bunch of them."
dragomorph: One of them aims a weapon down at you guys.  The others stop what they're doing and face the same direction.  "Halt!  Who goes there?!"
shinigamikitsune: Hector facepalms before getting out of sight, he could still catch them off guard.
unfingsalmon: Danny throws up a wide shield in front of him, just in case.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "'Halt, who goes there'? Really?"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim takes a wide stance.
dragomorph: "Identify yourselves!  If you're not with our forces, leave now!"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "In the name of truth, these muscles! In the name of justice, this blood! In the name of honor, this FIST!"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Who are 'your forces', anyway?!"
shinigamikitsune: Hector is just quietly whatting
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "CHAMPION OF JUSTICE, GRAND PAPILLON! READY TO FIGHT ALL EVIL-DOERS!"
EricOverbringer: Dave is...also kind of Whatting
unfingsalmon: Danny is just facepalming.
AlopexPlasma: At some point during all this, he's spun around and stuck on his mask.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Here we go again...."
AlopexPlasma: God knows where he pulled it out from.
AlopexPlasma: (the answer is handwave it, it's just hammerspace)
dragomorph: "The enemy!  Shoot!"  Annnnnd here come the bullets.
dragomorph: (Joachim, Danny, Dave, Hector)
EricOverbringer: Dave uses his newly recalled ninja skillz to vanish from sight before he his shot.
unfingsalmon: Danny focuses more on keeping his shield up to block any bullets that come their way.
dragomorph: (Joachim)\
shinigamikitsune: Hector still hung back in the shadow, dropping to the ground.
AlopexPlasma: Grand Papillon has his 'gator as a partial shield but is mostly way too pumped up to care about bullets.
AlopexPlasma: "You'll have to croc-o-DIAL it up a few notches if you want to defeat me! Hohohohoho!"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "hahahaha--hey, that's a good one!"
dragomorph: ...
dragomorph: All bullets are now primarily focused on Joahcim.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim gives him a thumbs up and shifts a more armored section of the gator in front of his face. "At least someone around here has an ear for good comedy!"
unfingsalmon: ...Welp. Danny drops the shield now, since there's no point holding it up when they're all aimed at Joachim now, who has his own shield.
dragomorph: (Danny)
unfingsalmon: With his hands now free, Danny holds up his two pointer fingers like pistols and starts shooting short bursts of ecto-energy at the men, firing his own bullets right back at them.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "You gave it your best shot, guys, but you're completely outgunned!"
dragomorph: They continue shooting, now dividing their attention between Danny and Joachim.   Make the punning stoooop.  A couple of them go down to Danny's shots, however.
dragomorph: (Danny, Joachim react)
unfingsalmon: The punning will never stop, so long as the valiant spirit of the Justice League persists!
unfingsalmon: But in the meantime, Danny continues, dodging and dancing and going intangible around the bullets almost carelessly as he continues firing his own shots back.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim's charging forward under fire, croc now less of a shield and more of a battering ram. "This new weapon makes fighting crime a real SNAP!" +
dragomorph: One goes down to another bullet, the other to the croc.  The other people have the sense to get behind defenses and shoot from there, still focusing on the two most obvious.
dragomorph: (Danny, Joachim react; Dave)
EricOverbringer: Dave's a little hesitant at killing actual humans. Alligators? Whatever. Mutant chess pieces? Sure. But not actual humans.
EricOverbringer: However that does stop him from dash through their midsts, freezing guns and hands in big blocks of ice with the sno-cone machete, then going back and doing it again, the end result being that two Daves do a cross-slash sort of thing through the enemies.+
EricOverbringer: does not*
dragomorph: One man yelps at his frozen hands, then another.  Two are left, still firing away, but beginning to retreat.
EricOverbringer: "Are we punning? Is that what the cool kids are doing?"
dragomorph: (Hector)
EricOverbringer: "Well then, how about 'You guys need to chill out'"
unfingsalmon: Danny grins widely.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Oh trust me, that's definitely what the cool kids are doing!"
EricOverbringer: Dave: *thinking* "I feel like a tool."
shinigamikitsune: Hector considers where he's at in relation to the gunners, and starts creeping closer, almost crawling on his belly, while the two mean start to retreat, he springs into action swinging the pipe towards their kneecaps while staying low.
shinigamikitsune: "You three! stop that, you're as funny as a sack of pipes!" He snarled at them as he quickly tumbles away from the gunners.+
dragomorph: We could make a bad joke about ice skaters, but we'll refrain and simply state the two, caught off guard, go down like sacks of potatoes.
unfingsalmon: The pun mojo slowly dies with Hector as Danny floats with a look of confusion and....perhaps even disappointment across his face.
dragomorph: The guards are now mostly incapacitated.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "What?"
unfingsalmon: Danny: "...nevermind."
unfingsalmon: The moment is long dead now, its flesh rapidly cooling as it begins the long, arduous process of decomposition.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "...Were you trying to make a pun about pipes? You might want to work on your delivery."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "What pun? I was using an english saying!"
AlopexPlasma: He just brutalized that poor moment.
unfingsalmon: Danny shakes his head sadly.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim chalks it up to this newfangled 21st century slang.
dragomorph: You can hear more movement further in.  Sounds like the fight must have been heard further inside.
EricOverbringer: Dave: "Okay puns are stupid, lets focus."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Well hell, in for a nickel, in for a pound."
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Guess we're not done yet."
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "Of course not! These things never end without a big fight."
dragomorph: Best move while you can.  Never know how much they'll slow you down.
EricOverbringer: Dave forges ahead!
unfingsalmon: ...well. Danny starts moving on, floating forwards.
AlopexPlasma: ONWARDS!
shinigamikitsune: Hector starts darting ahead.
dragomorph: There are more mooks, but hardly anything writing home about.  Eventually, however, you are greeted by a slightly more distinctive looking guy framed by two soldiers.
dragomorph: "I must congratulate you on your tenacity!  You truly are devoted members of your little sheep commune," he jeers.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "sheep commune?"
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Sheep Commune, what next? 'You sheeples are brainwashed by the establishment'? You sound like an idiot when you talk like that."
EricOverbringer: Dave: "Well we try."
unfingsalmon: Sheep are certainly not the first animal that comes to mind with this group.
dragomorph: "Sheep!  Following dutifuly what you've been told, without every questioning why!  Never changing the status quo!"
dragomorph: "But Lady Misery... she'll bring light back to the people!  More than anybody else, we believe in her!"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "I'm actually a bat."
dragomorph: He doesn't seem to be listening; he's a little lost in his monologue.
dragomorph: "And me!  She holds great faith in me!  Behold!  This charm she gave me, and only me, bestows a magnificent form!"
dragomorph: He holds up a pendant.  "Your advance will be halted here!  I will not let you interrupt Lady Misery's work!"
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "Is your new form a sheep?"
dragomorph: "Of course not!  It is far better!"  And, muttering something, he transforms...
dragomorph: into, uh...

shinigamikitsune: Hector: "Holy fuck, listen to this prick - he sounds like every other wannabe social revolutionist. Bet ten to one he lives in mommy's basement."
AlopexPlasma: Joachim: "That's a shame! You can get a lot of puns out of a sheep!"

unfingsalmon: Danny flies up a bit higher, going intangible to let the bullets pass through him.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "More shooting? Really?"
EricOverbringer: Dave lad-scrambles the fuck out of the way
shinigamikitsune: Hectors rolls, hitting ground and moving low and closer.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim tosses his gator at a soldier. Best defense is a good offense!
dragomorph: These soldiers seem a little better trained than the others; he manages to roll out of the way while still shooting.  The weird... box man, meanwhile, plows his own way towards Joachim.
dragomorph: It'll feel a LOT like getting hit by a car if he connects.
dragomorph: (Hector, Dave, Joachim, Danny)
dragomorph: (Joachim react; Hector)
shinigamikitsune: Hector stops rolling, and knows he can only beat a man with a gun with surprise. He flung the pipe at one man, before rushing shoulder first - plowing into him, and if he knocks the guy off-balance, he follows it with a punch to the face.+
AlopexPlasma: He's GRAND PAPILLION, he can take- ow.
dragomorph: The man blocks, but is subsequently caught off guard by Hector's shoulder rush, and knocked for a loop.  The other one fires more at Hector.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim goes down, and rolls to his feet, clutching his ribs. "Man-to-man, is it? I won't go down so easily!"
dragomorph: Toaster man laughs.  "I bet to differ!" he replies, before jumping with an aim to land RIGHT ON Joachim.
dragomorph: (Hector, Joachim react; Dave)
shinigamikitsune: He curses - trying to run from the gunfire and behind something.+
EricOverbringer: Dave time hops onto the Lunchbox-man's back, ready to stab the hell out of him with his temporarily intact sword+
AlopexPlasma: Joachim dashes forward and spins as the toaster comes down. When it does, he'll go in for a grapple.
AlopexPlasma: +
dragomorph: Toaster man misses, but when Joachim goes for the grapple, he spins, making sure Dave is right in the way of the attempted grapple.  STRATEGY.  The soldier moves to get better shots.
dragomorph: (Joachim, Dave react)
EricOverbringer: Dave dodges four dimensionally. As he is known to do.
AlopexPlasma: With Dave out of the way, Joachim is free to get his suplex on.+
dragomorph: WHAM!  Well, he seems rattled, but not out.
dragomorph: (Danny)
unfingsalmon: There--! Danny drops the intangibility and races up to the top of the ceiling, watching the suplex play out. Once it's finished with, Danny positions himself directly over toaster-man and races toward him, shoulder-first, at top speed.
unfingsalmon: Within moments of the suplex, the toaster-man will find a 150 mph Danny trying to barrel into him with his shoulder. +
dragomorph: Well, Danny's shoulder is probably going to hurt like hell, but you definitely made an impact.  You can hear the air whooshing out of his lungs.
dragomorph: Still, he gets up after a bit, shaking himself off -- before leaping high again and down to the ground, causing the entire ground to shake.
dragomorph: And yes, this has the slight disadvantage of throwing the soldier off guard too.
dragomorph: (All React)
unfingsalmon: Danny gives exactly zero fucks from his point in mid-air as he sorely massages his shoulder.
EricOverbringer: Dave is curently negotiating a complex four dimensional topography and not in phase with reality.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim wobbles over to his alligator.
shinigamikitsune: Hector yelps hitting the ground, and tries to get up again.
dragomorph: The toaster guy again aims towards Joachim to intercept him and that alligator; the soldier, recovered aims to shoot at Hector again.
dragomorph: (Hector, Joachim react; Hector)

EricOverbringer: He dodged four dimensionally to right now! Dave reappears with a flash, his sword full extending out into the man's gun, fully capable of skewering it!+

dragomorph: That's one skewered gun.  Yep.  The man yelps and falls backward.
AlopexPlasma: Joachim tries dodging this time. Maybe he can get it to hit the wall! +
shinigamikitsune: Hector takes the time Dave gave him to get up on his feet and recover his pipe+
dragomorph: Nope; he manages to stop in time.  But his unwieldly form means he's slow to turn back around.

EricOverbringer: (Is the trinket he used to transform into toasterman still visible on him?)
dragomorph: (No, it probably transformed as part of the overall look)
EricOverbringer: Dave jams his sword into the ground, both snapping the blade off half way down (again), and creating a path a frozen ground between Lunchboxman and wherever he's headed.+
dragomorph: He can't get his footing, and slams onto his back.  Owww.
dragomorph: (Joachim)
AlopexPlasma: Joachim clocks him with the gator, leaps into the air, and comes down in a ferocious elbow drop.
AlopexPlasma: +
dragomorph: Annnnnnd he's out.  His form flutters for a bit, and he transforms back to his original -- albeit unconscious -- self.
dragomorph: The other soldier doesn't look like he's in any position to stop you guys; seems like there's one last room further in.
EricOverbringer: Dave: "Well that was fucking stupid. Let's go claim our heroic reward, at least."
EricOverbringer: He jerks a thumb at the last guy, "I don't think he's gonna cause any more trouble, at least."
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "if there's anything of worth left."
unfingsalmon: Danny: "There has to be something. Maybe another crocodile?"
dragomorph: The last room has an alter, which looks like by all rights it should have had anemoi on it.  Instead, all it has is...
dragomorph: Misery:  I suppose I should have guessed it would be some of you people.  Honestly, you can't get good help these days.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Wh--i-it's you! What are you doing here?!"
unfingsalmon: He points a finger at her as he freaks.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: "You need to find people that aren't complete idiots."
dragomorph: Misery:  Hmm?  Oh!  Why, if it isn't the Boy Scout from before.  Turns out there wasn't a pendant after all.  So sorry.
dragomorph: To Hector:  "To be fair, they rather fell into my lap.  I figured if they're going to be so pig-headedly loyal, I might as well make use of them."
unfingsalmon: Danny: "What is this? What are you doing here?"
unfingsalmon: He doesn't sound particularly angered.
unfingsalmon: Mostly, he's just confused by this.
dragomorph: Misery:  Hmm?  Me?  Just doing a little bit of dungeon delving is all.  I do need all the Anemoi I can get, after all.  Very important.  Ho ho.

dragomorph: For the most part, it looks empty.  Very close observation, however, will note a slightly dislodged stone near the base of the alter.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Great, another bad guy in Sirocco."
unfingsalmon: He sighs as he begins searching the area as well.
EricOverbringer: Dave: "Hang on, I think I found something."

dragomorph: Some effort later, the stone dislodges, revealing a scant few anemoi that apparently escaped the plundering.
EricOverbringer: Dave reveals this bounty.
EricOverbringer: "Check it."
unfingsalmon: Danny flies over, peeking over Dave's shoulder.
shinigamikitsune: Hector: That'll be useful.
unfingsalmon: Danny: "Huh. Think she knew about those?"
