  1. NPC:
  2.
  3. Konjuring Kat
  4.
  5. IDEA:
  6.
  7. Creating a real life Dark Book of Rituals, with actual pages with actual rituals written on them, to present the Konjuring Kat with as a Valentines "Card", along with a little drawing and some words.
  8.
  9. WHY:
  10.
  11. Konjuring Kat is adorable! And in theme with the event [which by the time I created the entry, had just ended], something spooky but cute. All trough the event, I'd hoped I'd come in posession of a book, not only to fight the boss and receive the cowl, but also to have Konjuring Kat finally summon whatever it was conjuring! Other NPCs I had considered were: Arkus, Dusker Wolver, and my Heavy Toupee! x) But none gave me quite the idea this kitty did.
  12.
  13. PROCESS:
  14.
  15. Materials: A sketch book with tear-able pages, and some very old crayons which quite inconveniently, came in all the wrong shades. I took the "paper and CRAYON" quite literally, and avoided using colored pencils, even thought it might have been easier, and I hope I wasn't wrong to stay away from them. Everything about this entry was created purely with Crayons, Paper and ummm, a bit of Stapler, I hope that's ok? D:
  16.
  17. Creating the BOOK: I torn out one sheet of paper, folded it once horizontally and once vertically. I torn out another and did the same. One was the cover and first/last page, the other would be the rest of the pages. I tried to find the best shades for the violet cover and the slightly green inside, then lightly colored all the pages accordingly. I was done with the cover for the moment so I focused on the inner pages. I took several minutes to plan what goes on what page, to actually make sense as a Book of Dark Rituals. I started with the illustrations of the book.
  18. On the first page, I drew a modified pentagram to suit Margel. The second page and third page would present the means of acquiring the necessary bones, a skull and a Moorcroft-specific tomb. The fourth page, shows their alignment [I'm sure you'll recognize the image if you've paid some attention to Konjuring Kat's little... arrangement ;>]. The fifth page, shows the location where the ritual should be performed. The sixth page, shows from what foes can this book be acquired [yes this makes no sense, but shhh, I didn't have time to come up with another idea]. The seventh page shows the conjuring. And the eight page, shows the conjured- Margel. You might have noticed that only two drawings are done in red- after finishing Margel, my red crayon broke [you can see the broken pieces in the photos image], and quite frankly I found the black one after searching for a sharpener.
  19. Creating the symbols was perhaps the longest part of the whole process [if we ignore taking pictures/scanning/putting everything together]. Those symbols are inspired from satanic symbols [and that's how I got my weirdest google search of the week "satanic alphabet"], but at some point I got bored of randomly picking letters and I just developed them myself. Nothing written there actually makes any sense, obviously.
  20. After finishing all this, the book felt too normal to me, so I took one of the pieces of my red crayion, cut it in half and ground the remains to a not-so-fine powder, scattered it on each page in turn and pressed them all over with my mouse. I was lucky enough to have them create the desired, sort of bloody and ragged look I wanted. :>
  21. I almost forgot about the little piece hanging from the bottom of the book, I colored a small area of a piece of paper with green, then cut it in the right shape and stapled it to the middle of the book.
  22. Now I had finished creating the contents of the book, I had to bring it together. Originally, I planned sewing it but I had no time to do that so I just stapled it. It's sturdy enough though! I think I covered everything in the making of the book... onwards to the cards.
  23.
  24. Creating the CARDS: I took another sheet of paper, and I started outlining the image I wanted. I have to tell you, it was very very difficult working with crayons, but it was also my fault for making it such a small image. I had to sharpen my crayon every 5 strokes, boo hoo. I am not very proud of the drawing, but I really had no time to make another. I took several minutes to think of some witty, cute and lovely text for an evil little kitty, until I decided on what I wrote there, and splitting the card into two, the first one, with the drawing, to be placed at the beginning of the book, and the last one with the proposition, at the end. :>
  25. This is what the cards say, because my handwriting is bad, especially in Crayon:
  26. First: To the sweetest, cutest, most evil kitty on Cradle, a token of my undying affection, the Book of Dark Rituals. The kitty says mew.
  27. Second: Will you be my felinetine? <3
  28. The presentation is supposed to be simply the book with no words, then finding the cards inside it.
  29.
  30. FINAL NOTES:
  31.
  32. I may not have gotten a Book of Dark Rituals in-game, but at least I have something better- one in real life! x)
  33. I hope my different approach to a Valentine's Card won't hurt my chances to win, but ey, creativity was a judging criteria, wasn't it? o:
  34. There are some things I would've changed if I had the time: Improve my text and drawing on the actual card, fetch better crayons in more appropriate shades, create better illustrations and writings which actually make sense for the book, tie the book with string, create more pages for the book, and perhaps not mess up the date and naming of the picture? x)
  35. I think this should be everything you need to know about my entry, thank you for reading!
