  4. [2013-10-02 13:36:27] <Kkat> 3But the true leaders of the Crystal Empire, Princess Cadence and Prince Shining Armor, have long ago vanished. And the custodians that they left behind, the simulacrums called Doctor Amore and Professor Paladin, have failed in their responsibilities. Guidance has become a straightjacket and protection a prison.

  6. [2013-10-02 13:36:38] <Kkat> 3Instead, the Crystal Ponies exist in status and stagnation while the empire which was once their home crumbles. The Crystal Empire lies in ruins. Not from a megaspell, but from the collapse of order, centuries long, which has left only the desperate, the wicked and the insane as its only inhabitants.

The knowledge of ages lines the walls in every direction -- book shelves of sky-blue crystal reach three stories high, loaded with books slowly decaying in age, extend under a domed skylight.
  11. [2013-10-02 13:42:18] <Kkat> 3The blue of the sky above is slowly eclipsed by a swath of pink as the shield once again extends around the library, plunging the interior into odd shades of magenta.
  12. [2013-10-02 13:42:56] <Kkat> 3In the center of the library, sitting on a simple libarian's desk, unhidden... is the Crystal Heart.
  13. [2013-10-02 13:44:18] <Kkat> 3"Welcome, intruders! I, Professor Paladin, greet Doctor Amore's spies!" The voice seems to come from everywhere, echoing off the silent walls.

  16. [2013-10-02 13:45:28] * Kid gives an appreciative whistle. "Now this here's really somethin'. I don' think I've ever seen so many books in one place." And then she sees it. The Crystal Heart. Her heart soars, but her cynicism cries out. Back away from it Kid. This isn't real. "I ain't buyin' it." She mumbles, drawing her gun and creeping down the halls a bit, ears up and aware.
  17. [2013-10-02 13:45:32] * Noble_Heart glances around at the walls. "The public announcement system serves this Professor Paladin well." She looks back to the heart. "It will not be this easy."
  18. [2013-10-02 13:46:49] * CopyCat tilts her head hopefully. "Well, couldn't we just pretend it will be easy? For a little bit?"

  21. [2013-10-02 13:49:13] <Kkat> 3The voice of Professor Paladin chuckles. "No doubt, you are expecting a BIGGER and MORE... BATTLE-ier version of my awesome Crystal Battle Ewes!"

  23. [2013-10-02 13:49:52] * Kid whimpers. Aw, bullshit. She got close to a bookcase and slammed up against it, loading in all the slugs and disruption slugs she has left. "'Cause he's got a flank fer a face, what the hell other reason does he need?" She whisper hisses at Shatara.
  24. [2013-10-02 13:50:05] * Noble_Heart looks up at the books. "We suspect that you would not allow one of the Ewes within the library. They are very destructive, and difficult to control."
  25. [2013-10-02 13:50:31] <Kkat> 3"But you are wrong! For I, Professor Paladin, have harnessed the EVEN AWESOME-er power..." he laughs in triumph, "...of MINITURIZATION!"

  32. [2013-10-02 13:53:57] <Kkat> 3True to the Professor's word, a crystal battle ewe jumps up onto the desk. It is a cute little thing about the size of a cantelope. And it's little legs scramble cutely as it climbs up onto the Crystal Heart and perches there, letting out a fearsome churble.
  33. [2013-10-02 13:54:30] * Noble_Heart frowns as she watches the Ewe. "Kid. Perhaps you would like a word with Our would-be assailant?"
  34. [2013-10-02 13:55:09] * Kid glances at it. And her heart melts a little. "Aww. Lookatit! It's so cute!" She grabs a gem pack and tosses it out for the little guy. "Have you eaten?"
  35. [2013-10-02 13:55:54] <Kkat> 3The D.I.B.C.E.D. terrifyingly nibbles on the Heart. Then looks up and blinks. Terrifyingly.

  39. [2013-10-02 13:58:23] <Kkat> 3The mini-ewe bounds down off the Heart and lands next to the gem pack, sniffing it. Then bats it. And chases.

  41. [2013-10-02 13:59:15] <Kkat> 3"Beware! For it is lulling you into a false sense of security! Before it STRIKES! With DOOM!"

  43. [2013-10-02 13:59:45] * Bookwright is nonplussed. Starts looking around the room for other doors.
  44. [2013-10-02 13:59:47] * CopyCat clasps her front hooves together. "Aww, he's adorable!"
  45. [2013-10-02 14:00:00] * Noble_Heart chuckles quietly. "We have met the Ewes. They are most adorable when not determined to murder." She looks towards the ceiling then the crystal heart. "But We would also like to know why the spell must not be completed. There are many thousands of ponies waiting for its finish to be released."

She hopes to see it again to see if Professor Paladin would be cool with letting her have it, since Sweetie Bot would probably like to keep Ewey. She bats it back out to keep it playing for a little bit.

You're just a lil' misunderstood, that's all. You got a name, lil'un?" She proceeded to give it a nuzzle and lifts the gem pack to keep it following her. "Aw, it's just that nobody knows how t' treat 'em how they like it is all. They'd get it if they bothered...

I'm thinkin' we kinda megaspelled it up like, two hundred and a quarter years ago. Ah think." She shakes her head. "And what else should we do t' get all them ponies unfrozen?"

Surely leaving thousands of crystal ponies paralyzed, until their hearts are so empty of love that they cannot even conceive of why it would be positive. Such a fate is worse than death." She snorts. "But We would not allow such a mass brainwashing to occur!

  63. [2013-10-02 14:27:09] * Bookwright steps forward. "Have you seen what happens to the crystal ponies who become unfrozen? They have no love left! They move, but they do not live! They are dead, but still they walk! All they have in their hearts is anger, hatred, frustration, and shame!"

  72. [2013-10-02 14:31:37] * Kid leans down to pick Louie up and places the tiny crystaline sheep onto her saddle. "I'm thinkin' some pots and kettles agree with ya'll, Professor." She sarcastically sniped.
  73. [2013-10-02 14:32:27] * Kid shrugs. "We'll ask nice, and if that don't work. Y'no. We'll shoot 'er. Politely."

Though she did not tell Us what the purpose was, We admit, she has not lied."

  137. [2013-10-02 15:27:21] * Kid steps out of the library, and after giving a cautionary glance at the left and right, looks back up past the crag and the ominous glow. "Noble?"
  138. [2013-10-02 15:29:16] * Get_Lost takes a look around, a little disappointed that no mare wanted to test her skills... oh well, maybe next time, mares can be shy, sometimes... copycat was actually helping herself, maybe for the better?
  139. [2013-10-02 15:29:29] * Noble_Heart looks up towards the crags as well. "We are prepared to move whenever everyone else is." She sighs quietly. "This may be dangerous..."

  150. [2013-10-02 15:35:01] * Noble_Heart looks to CopyCat. "Have We not spent a night at the top of that crystal palace? We seem to recall it having an open area."

  173. [2013-10-02 15:52:54] * Bookwright sighs. Then unlimbers his thumpy stick and locks it in the upright position. "Unless somepony has a better idea, I'm about to start bombarding those ewes."
  174. [2013-10-02 15:53:12] * Noble_Heart dives to one side as quick as she can manage, then climbs towards the ridge swiftly. "owowow. We suggest moving quickly when We cross the gap again!"

  176. [2013-10-02 15:54:28] * Bookwright huffs. "Bah, you're right. I let my anger betray me." He puts it away.

  195. [2013-10-02 16:08:41] * Bookwright huddles in close with Kid and Get_Lost. "Alright, here we go..." He focuses his magic, and a soft field of honeyed light surrounds the three ponies. "Skyscraper, spire, crystals and togas..." He opens his eyes. They are brass orbs of shining light. He whispers, "See you on the flip side..."

  205. [2013-10-02 16:18:41] * Noble_Heart smiles to Shatara. "Thank you." She spreads her wings once they were secured. "We are prepared!"
  206. [2013-10-02 16:19:49] <Kkat> 3*BAMF!* Bookwright appears surrounded by his friends on the top of the Crystal Tower. Meanwhile, Noble_Heart, Shatara and CopyCat are back at the firewagon with the Crystal Heart.
  207. [2013-10-02 16:19:59] * CopyCat nods. "Yep, I'm ready! You know, I think that Shatara might have done something like this before."
  208. [2013-10-02 16:21:53] * Noble_Heart smiles. "Then let Us go!" She beats her wings to take flight, heading towards the tower with the fire wagon in tow.

[2013-10-02 16:31:58] * Get_Lost "no no no and no! those wound will never heal properly if we don't treat them as soon as possible! you are a beautiful mare and i can't even think about you getting disfigured. so, you now drink this potion while i take care of everything... we will find more potions somehow"
  219. [2013-10-02 16:33:00] * Bookwright wakes from his doze as the princesses arrive. "Ah, finally back? Took y'all long enough..."
  220. [2013-10-02 16:33:12] * Noble_Heart sighs in mild irritation, drinking the potion as she sits to allow Get Lost time to work.
  221. [2013-10-02 16:33:38] * CopyCat wriggles out of the harness. "Noble got hurt flying over the chasm... I tried to help but it needed somepony more skilled... Oh, and I'm fine. Shatara was very gentle."
  222. [2013-10-02 16:34:07] * Shatara was most definitely not staring at their strapped-in plots the whole way.

  232. [2013-10-02 16:38:11] * Kid frowns. "As ya'll wish. Just keep a real close eye on it. We don't want it stolen."

  240. [2013-10-02 16:46:00] * Shatara pulls his 'Equestrian Army Today' from his bags. "I'll uh...just be over there..."
  241. [2013-10-02 16:49:03] * Kid heads over to CopyCat. "Hey, you."
  242. [2013-10-02 16:49:55] * CopyCat looks over attentively. "Yes?"
  243. [2013-10-02 16:53:58] * Kid settles down and looks at Bookie and Shatara to see if they'd cleared off. If they were at a distance, she talked, if they weren't, she leaned in so she could lower her tone so that they wouldn't hear. "Let's do a lil' trade. I'll tell y' what's eatin' me, but you gotta tell me somethin' first. And I'll get it if you don't wanna talk about it, and I'll still do my part."

She sighed and prepared to defend herself. "Now, that there's yer business. But I noticed that you go and let just about anypony stare at you like that. And I gotta ask, why do you let 'em do it?"
  247. [2013-10-02 17:01:33] * CopyCat simply smiles. "Because they like to do it. And I like to make ponies happy."
  248. [2013-10-02 17:02:35] * Kid looks off. "But there's a difference between just keepin' ponies happy and stickin' up to yerself, y'no? What's th' difference t' you?"
  249. [2013-10-02 17:06:09] * CopyCat tilts her head. "I'm not sure if I understand what you mean... if they meant me harm I would leave."
  250. [2013-10-02 17:09:04] * Kid seems a little angry. She thinks of her mom. "I meant, you're more than a pair of flanks, y'no? And it just kinda burns me seein' you not fightin' it when ponies don't treat you like you are, like you don't think you are."

  260. [2013-10-02 17:39:17] * CopyCat grins. "Tell you what. If you let me know when someone is treating me like a tool then I'll try to act a bit more Noble." CC double blinks at Kid's instinctive reaction to the thought of two Noble Hearts. "Alright, more princess-like. How about that?"
