Ultima Power Control

Ultima sat amongst a couple others in checkpoint, resting his hands in the grass and pulling at the odd blade here and there. He was content living in a place where both the odd dead person and living could meet. He thought it was kind of cool how they could mingle with one another in harmony. He had been warned by his baby sitter a few times not to wander off into the clouds lest he fall in with the demons below, or even the sure power that was hell itself could tear him apart. It made him wonder often as he peered into the fluffy golden clouds, what it would be like to go down there.

Halfway through his thought he felt a kick hit him in the side of his head. It was his friend Arvonas whom he always called Brownie, just off of the colour of his skin, it seemed a bit racist but Ultima truly didn't know the difference between right and wrong just yet. He returned himself to a stance after getting his head together, watching as Arvonas came at him with a flurry of attacks. It was without warning at first but now he was ready. He'd dodge and dip underneath a few kicks and return the attacks with his own barrage of punches. He wasn't a big fan of kicks, he always felt like a good punch in the face was sufficient enough, he didn't like wasting too much energy At first they were on par with one another, exchanging blows as equals, but after some time the two became tired, barely lunging strikes into one another, hardly keeping a block up.

It was then that Ultima got in a good strike across the face of Arvonas causing him to get angry and catch a second wind. Within just seconds Ultima was caught off guard and being struck from all angles unable to really defend himself from the blows. His heart began to race, he could feel his blood starting to boil. He couldn't be beat by Brownie! Especially not in front of their sitter! He began to concentrate gaining his ground as he did when he was caught off guard when they first started to fight. He let out a massive bellow as if to scare Arvonas off  and began pushing his ki from his core and into his muscles, pumping them with more will to fight.

Out of sheer desperation Arvonas dove in at Ultima but as the power that was erupting inside of him poured out of his body and fuelled it with strength that he had never felt before, Arvonas was thrown back leaving him open for Ultima to strike. He dashed forward and slammed him into the ground but before he could lay in the pummel, his baby sitter stood up and looked as if he was going to chase Ultima down. Like a reflex he flew off and landed behind a tree and started to calm his breathing. As he did he could feel the ki he had pushed into his muscles flow out and back to his core. As it did this he could feel his heart begin to calm down and the heat that he once felt upon his face replace itself with some sweat.

His sitter continued to look around for him, but for some reason was unable to see where he was. Any other time he would say that he could feel him around, but not this time. Perhaps calming himself to this point was a way of hiding himself to those who could feel energies, if that was indeed what they were feeling at all. He'd continue to practice this technique while playing hide and seek with Arvonas and their sitter Meran whom Ultima only ever referred to as his sitter. After about a week Ultima had become confident in his ability to change the flow of his ki to either make him stronger or hidden altogether. Hide and seek was easy and sparring with Arvonas was as easy as ever, Meran even began to think that Ultima was becoming strong enough to be a sparring partner for him.
