- CTU RIGHT NOW opened memo on board GLORIOUS LEADER’S BOARD ROOM.
- FB: Hi Lyra!
- SM: Hey.
- FB: What's up?
- SM: This game downloaded itself on my computer, so I'm trying to play it.
- SM: Not gonna lie, it's pretty dumb so far.
- menacingCamper [MC] joined chat
- FB: It got past my extremely secure popup blocker
- SM: Hey Kara
- MC: hey lyra.
- FB: Also hi Kara!
- MC: sorry, i just had kind of a crappy day.
- FB: What happened :/
- MC: i think i might have killed minali's pet.
- MC: i mean not directly,
- FB: Pet?
- MC: she called it a lusus i think?
- FB: Her LUSUS?!
- SM: So THAT's what she meant!
- MC: it's something really exotic apparently.
- SM: Cool!
- FB: God that's terrible. You must feel awful...
- MC: no fucking shit.
- FB: I have a lusus too
- MC: and minali,
- MC: she actually forgave me for it.
- FB: The same thing happened to me...
- tylerUnderwood [TU] joined chat
- TU: Alright let's cut the sob stories for a second
- TU: And get down to some SERIOUS BUISNESS
- TU: Who else has started the game so far?
- SM: Hey
- SM: I happen to be enjoying the story
- MC: no please,
- TU: Vidya is some serious shit
- TU: Just so many electronic arts to play
- MC: continue with the serious business i don't want to talk about it.
- TU: Can you even handle it?
- MC: handle what?
- TU: ...you know, the amount of Vidya.
- TU: The serious business
- FB: Kara, I'm sure you didn't mean it. You wouldn't do that.
- MC: just drop it okay?
- TU: Listen to the girl
- TU: Girl is it?
- MC: yes.
- FB: But on with the SERIOUS BUSINESS
- TU: Alright.
- TU: So who has played the game so far?
- FB: Which game?
- TU: ...
- FB: I had a game install itself
- TU: Well that's the least suspicious thing that's happened today
- MC: is it castle master?
- MC: i had that happen too.
- MC: hadn't actually tried it yet though.
- TU: Let's assume that's the game we're talking about.
- TU: Has anyone else started… whatever game it is?
- FB: Ive started it
- MC: well i have the game
- MC: haven't gotten around to actually playing it,
- MC: but it's running right now.
- MC: it somehow can run on my brick,
- MC: so that's a plus.
- SM: Yeah
- SM: Started
- FB: I don't think its that bad really.
- FB: Apart from the title screen
- FB: COMIC SANS
- TU: Does it... do anything?
- SM: Nah.
- FB: well it's focused on a girl in a library for me
- FB: I can interact with the room
- SM: It's basically a picture of a room
- TU: Thought that this game was multiplayer
- FB: Yeah... It didn't say anything on the title screen about it multiplayer
- FB: Or maybe I couldnt read COMIC SANS
- MC: maybe it's the internet "multiplayer".
- MC: like you share your achivements on facebook or something stupid like that.
- TU: Yes and there's a DLC leaderboard
- TU: Where you pay .99 cents for SBURBBUCKS
- TU: To grind your way up the ladder
- FB: It did say "connecting to server"
- SM: Why sburbbucks?
- FB: This game isn't sburb.
- FB: I was under the impression that SBURB doesn't exist
- TU: Look
- TU: When we all downloaded the "game"
- TU: In that stupid Memo from the other day
- TU: And Carlos impregnated all of our computers
- TU: With his evil virus demonspawn
- TU: That's when the weird shit started happening
- TU: Including the shitty internet meme that we will not name
- TU: And then the game attached itself to our computers
- MC: oh wow, i actually lucked out there.
- MC: who knows i'd be thanking my shitty internet.
- FB: So this is all Carlos' fault.
- TU: Most likely.
- TU: And probably went through our pesterchum lists
- TU: To find all of our friends' computers
- TU: Or at least general acquaintances
- TU: And downloaded the real S'BURB onto our computer
- SM: I don't think viruses can do that.
- TU: Do you have any other explanation for it?
- FB: It seems like very clever coding
- TU: I'm no coding wizard
- TU: But it seems at least slightly possible
- MC: slightly yeah.
- TU: Or maybe the memo had the virus from the beginning?
- TU: And it had been downloading while we were talking?
- TU: And the actual file was just kind of
- TU: A formality, I suppose.
- SM: It WAS a pretty weird memo
- frozenFire [FF] joined chat.
- FF: What're we talking about here?
- TU: The nature of SBURB
- TU: Which I suspect is actually real
- TU: And totally not fake as shit
- FF: Oh, right. That game
- FF: I haven't run it yet
- FF: I've been exploring a dark part of the forest
- FF: Found some pretty cool ruins
- FF: What's been going on over there?
- SM: Ruins?
- TU: ... is that just an everyday thing for you?
- FF: No, not usually
- TU: Just "went into the forest, found a bunch of hidden ruins"
- TU: I mean honestly if you could go to your computer
- TU: Log off
- TU: Walk into the woods
- TU: Explore said ruins
- TU: And come back
- TU: All in give or take a day
- TU: And you only just discovered this NOW?
- FF: I just had the feeling that I should go there - I've never gone there before
- MC: "just had the feeling"
- FF: Hahahaha
- SM: Were they trapped?
- FF: No, they weren't trapped
- SM: Aww... :(
- FF: I haven't run it yet
- FF: Anyways, I went to practice my archery
- TU: Go on, Legolas
- FF: And then I decided to explore.
- FF: Also, I though sburb is only a game?
- TU: Game
- TU: Virus
- TU: Same difference
- TU: Yeah but I think it doesn't matter if you run it or not
- TU: It's probably running itself right now anyways
- flamingBlade [FB] joined chat.
- FB: Bluh, Internet fairies getting to my router.
- TU: Aright FB
- TU: I'm not really sure if that was some hard boiled sarcasm
- TU: Or just another weird thing that you and MP do
- FB: Am I saying it wrong?
- FF: In other news, have you guys been given a code of any sort?
- SM: Whaddaya mean?
- FF: Such as: MAIN81749MDIEN87ki£962ZI
- SM: Uh... no.
- FB: Yes! I got a code
- FB: Hang on, I'll write it out
- FB: MAIN81749MDIEN87
- FB: That's it
- FF: Huh. Those are the first 16 in my code
- FF: I'll make a note of it
- TU: Why do you ask, anywas?
- FF: I found a working computer in the ruins. I'm fully aware that this sounds pretty crazy, but it's true
- FF: House --> Temple --> Computer/wall/thing
- FF: It has an encrypted file, and a decryptor
- TU: So someone got to the ruins before you
- TU: Big deal
- FF: Which supposedly needs 3 codes to unlock. I find it curious
- TU: Alright so FB has a code
- TU: FF has a code
- TU: Maybe this crazy coincidences mean that someone else has a code
- FB: Alright, TU I made a mistake in my translation, does "my router crashed" make sense?
- FF: Oh shoot
- FF: I should probably get back now, shouldn't I
- frozenFire [FF] disconnected.
