- Ghant
- Prime Minister Yula Zimya was sitting at her desk, when she heard a knock on her door. "Mrs. Prime Minister, Bijker is almost here." Zimya spoke without looking up. "Send someone to receive him, then. If he wants to come here he can. If he wants to go to Palace, take him there. That will be all." Words were carried and the message conveyed. A limo
- was taken to Ghish International to await the arrival of Bijker, with little fanfare.
- Legendardisch
- The plane with the president landed on Ghish International, it was a large plane, with an orange belly, and the federalenvlag on its tail.
- Ghant
- A few men in suits stood in front of the limo as the plane landed, waiting for Bijker to emerge.
- Legendardisch
- it took a few minutes before the door opened, first the staff of the secret service left, to shake the hands of the ghantish security personnel. and then the president emerged, waving to the small crowd.
- The President walked to the limo
- Ghant
- One of the men stepped forward. "Welcome to Ghant", he said in Legendardian. "Where would you like to go, Mr. President?"
- Legendardisch
- 'Thank You, its a great pleasure to be here in Ghish. I would like to meet Nathan first.'
- he calmly said in Ghantar, atleast the best he could do
- Ghant
- "You speak Ghantish? Splendid. Please, hop in. We have enough room for all of your companions as well." He replied in Ghantish.
- Legendardisch
- Bijker entered the limo, with his wife next to him and his two advisors. all had a crossed flag pin with the flag of Ghant and Legendardisch
- Ghant
- Once everyone is inside, the limo began moving. The city was cloudly, and people went about their business as usual.
- Legendardisch
- ''Legendardisch surely seems to be a bit forgotten in Ghant nowadays'' he said in English ''Tourism from Ghant is low, only the Emperor and his family visit their holiday mansions once in a while'' he said, with a smile.
- ''I hope to show the people that Legendardisch and Ghant have deep thick roots with eachother.''
- Ghant
- The one man who spoke Legendardish, responded. "Wounds from the Revolution have not yet fully healed. Many Ghantish people are still embarrassed and hang their heads in shame."
- Legendardisch
- ''But there is no need for that, they shouldn't be ashamed for a Emperor who was crazy'' he said.
- ''but to be fair, we didn't forget the revolution either, that is shown in our naval strenght, or well, overall in our armed forces.''
- ''Did Ghant not invade, then our armed forces would be significant smaller''
- Ghant
- "If the people would have known what he was capable of, they would have acted against him more quickly. By the time people knew what his mental condition was, it was already too late. Although, I suppose there is some good to be found in any bad situation"
- Legendardisch
- ''There was, it showed that the world is not peacefull. we adapted to that''
- ''but newer threats arise, greater than the Ghantish Revolution, and Ghantar's know that.''
- Ghant
- "Indeed. I am sure the Emperor will have much to say on that. Although, I would caution you against bringing up the Revolution or the Mad Emperor in the presence of the Empress, on account to what happened to her family."
- Legendardisch
- ''I will not mention it''
- Ghant
- Within a few moments, they approached the Imperial Palace. They pulled around the side, into the garage. "Here we are, Mr. President. A feast awaits you tonight, should you have an appetite." He gestured towards the guided door with a man standing stoicly at its side..
- Legendardisch
- ''Thank you, also, you speak pretty darn good Legendardian'' he said in a friendly tone with a smile. First his wife stepped out, then Bijker himself and then his two advisors. Bijker and his wife walked to the palace
- Ghant
- The guard knew who they were. He opened the door, and another man on the inside lead bid they follow him. Through the Palace they walked, for a time, until they came to a large set of double doors. The man knocked three times, and then the door opened. The Emperor of Ghant was there. "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Bijker. Welcome to my house."
- Legendardisch
- Bijker shook the hand of the Emperor, so did his wife. ''It's a pleasure to be in Ghish, and its a pleasure to meet you, highness.'' he said
- Ghant
- "The Emperor nodded. "The pleasure is mine. Please, call me Nathan. Come inside, this room is one that you might want to see." He turned around and walked in. It was an armory, with weapons, armor, and the like of many varieties. In the middle was a set of gold armor. "See that gold armor there? That was the armor of Samuel V of Ghant, and Samuel I
- II of Legendardisch. A nobler man the world has never seen."
- Legendardisch
- Bijker entered the room and saw the antique weapons 'He was indeed a noble man, and Legendardisch still honors him, he has a great battleship named after him. Ghant and Legendardisch are named in more ways than names however. also, you do have a city in Legendardisch named Nathanstad you know. but dont tell Nathan Van Hermsoogen tough' he said with a smile
- *oops, related
- Ghant
- "I take it that city was named after either the first or the second Nathan?"
- Legendardisch
- ''Well, its named after a Legendardian named Nathan or Natan if you prefer, but over time it became Nathanstad, and the mayor, coincidently called Nathan, formerly Natan and you know. but its more like after the horrifics of the Revolution.''
- he said
- Ghant
- "Oh yes, right. I wanted to show you this, because it is a reminder that although there has been some bad, and foul deeds committed, there has been good too, righteous and noble deeds. Ghant is a place where honor and justice prevails. This is why when the King received that letter from Legendardisch, he agreed to everything expediently and without
- hesitation. It is my hope that in a hundred years, that is what holds weight in our relations."
- Legendardisch
- ''It will last longer than hundreds of years. History can not we rewritten, we can only live with it, and try to forgive, and adapt if needed.''
- Ghant
- "Indeed. The sooner we forget history, the more likely we are to repeat it. So my father told me once."
- Legendardisch
- ''We must never forget. Thats what is told to me by my father atleast'' ''Then indeed History will repeat itself''
- Legendardisch
- ''I also would like to apologize for our tone against your noble in the Republic Issue.''
- Ghant
- The Emperor stiffened. "Apologize? There is no need, I understand. Legendardisch has much a reason to wish to see the throne abolished, considering what that throne has done."
- Legendardisch
- ''That could played in our opinion, its just that we did not evaluate how Ghant would be without its throne and monarch'' he said ''But I do stand behind my opinion that in someways Ghant is in need to be reformed, ofcourse i could discuss that with you, but i could to that with Zimy, tough i am afraid that she does not listen to those aspects, and would go to the Republic Discussion''
- he said calmly
- Ghant
- The Emperor chewed on his lip. "This country would burn if it moved towards a republic. Any leader that takes the time to think outside of their box and put themselves in our shoes would come to realize that."
- Legendardisch
- ''But our plans, or ideas, for the welness of Ghant would not make Ghant a republic, altough we took some things that mostly comes from a republic institute.'' he said.
- Legendardisch
- ''In essential, its us trying to help you and your people from other declining things, like economy, the military, literacy and such.''
- ''And how the monarchy would be better accepted ofcourse''
- ''Thats why I am here, trying to understand Ghant, but also teach Ghant, and share other information, and flatten out small disputes like us having colonies and such.''
- Legendardisch
- ''And I can talk with you and share the philosophy, and i can talk with Zimya, or both if needed.
- ''
- Ghant
- "You came to the right place, then."
- Legendardisch
- ''Where shall we start?''
- Ghant
- "That depends. What time is it? Has the sun began its descent?"
- Legendardisch
- Bijker looks at his watch ''In Legendardisch its 17:46 PM, its summer, so it takes a while for it to descent, but it is decending. and yes, I forgot to set my watch for Ghantish Time System'' he said
- Ghant
- "Suppose its about time to eat, then. Shall we?"
- Legendardisch
- ''Allright then''
- Ghant
- The Emperor walked out of the room. He walked through the hallways, and after one particular turn, he stated that. "This Palace is like a maze. I mentally prepared myself long ago to run into the Minotaur, which my grandfather said lurks in the deeper parts of the Palace."
- Legendardisch
- Bijker and his wife chuckeld ''You have to see the white house.''
- Ghant
- "Indeed I should." He pushed the large, guilded doors of the feast hall open, and the feast was laid out on the table. There were only a few others seated at the table, notably among them the Lady Belmore, who got up from her seat to greet them. "Hello all. May I present the President of Legendardisch, his wife, and companions." Lady Belmore approa
- ched the group. She was wearing a tight green dress that revealed all of her curves. She was of moderate height, with soft brown hair and dark green eyes. She smiled as she approached. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. President."
- Legendardisch
- ''Thank you Lady'' the President answered ''Its a pleasure to meet you''
- Ghant
- She walked over to the Emperor. "The pleasure is all mine, I can assure you."
- Legendardisch
- The Presidential pair chose a seat close to the Emperor
- Ghant
- The Emperor took his seat, and gestured to the seats to his right. "Where is Sophia at?" Nathan asked the room. "Off doing something, I would imagine." Said one of his dinner guests. He leaned over to Bijker. "She should be here shortly. She is not one to miss dinner guests. And don't mind Lady Belmore. She is a bit...forward when the Empress is...
- not around."
- Legendardisch
- ''aha... Okay'' Bijker whispered
- Ghant
- Nathan shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "No. I have never been intimate with the Lady Belmore, nor do I intend on such in the future. I suspect she wants that, though."
- Legendardisch
- ''I think she wants every powerfull man, sorry to say that, the way she walked towards us showed that really.'' he calmly said
- Ghant
- "Is that right?" echoed a female voice from behind. Nathan jumped up out of his seat as he turned around to see the Empress approach.
- Legendardisch
- ''Hello Majesty, My name is Rinaldo Bijker, President of The United Federation of Legendardisch, and this is my wife'' he said, with the scare still hearable in his voice
- Ghant
- The Empress was all elegance, in her flowing violet dress, with her hair in a bun that bounced behind her head. "Welcome to our home, Mr. and Mrs. President." She said as she bowed. "I am Sophia, Empress of Ghant." She took her seat to Nathan's left.
- Legendardisch
- ''its a pleasure to meet you'' he said
- Ghant
- Sophia looked at Nathan while he cut into a steak, and then looked at Bijker and his wife. "You look ravishing, Mrs. Bijker."
- Legendardisch
- ''Thank you Sophia.'' Carolien said.
- ''You also look astonishing''
- she said while taking a sip of her wine
- Ghant
- Sophia smiled. "You are very kind to say so, my lady." She looked at the President. "Was there anything in particular that you wanted to discuss, Mr. President?"
- Legendardisch
- "Economics, the literacy of Ghant, our differences, and how Ghant must become stronger in NEDO, which to be fair, is not really at this point. i would like to say more, some sad stuff aswell, but I am not here to really say such classified stuff where everyone is at."
- he said
- Ghant
- The Emperor grunted, and made a motion to speak. Sophia put a hand on his arm, and then she spoke. "Literacy of Ghant, indeed a point of concern. You see, the thing is that education is voluntary, as it might be not...kosher to make it compulsory. People that want to go to school, and learn, have the right to, and have access to it as well. A law i
- s only good as it can be enforced. You see, Ghant does not have the manpower or the ability to go to every clan and tribe in the deepest recesses of the country and round up children to attend school. So attendance is largely up to them to decide."
- Legendardisch
- ''But you know this can be harmfull to the economy and armed forces of Ghant in the long run, to be fair, the forces of Ghant are a bit outdated, and only manufacturers and educated soldiers, pilots and captains will be able to solve that. however with my recent contact with one of your lords one thing came clear to me, that some lords demonize education. i think that if the emperor shows that going to school is fun, gives children experiences, makes them know more about the world bigger than their own village and the fact that they build social skills. really, i dont see how that will fail.''
- he said
- Legendardisch
- ''There are children only wishing to go to school, some are hold back because parents are unfortunately uninformed''
- ''this also causes a huge canyon between literated people and non literated people, mostly, and sadly, the northerners.'' he added
- Ghant
- "That has already been done. The south and my Dakmoor, where I am from, lead the way forward. If the people's of the north wish to maintain their tribal ways, so be it. Those who want to leave that life behind are free to do so."
- Legendardisch
- ''but that holds back Ghant as one nation, and that worries me.''
- ''Anyways, Lords who demonize education should be put out of their nobility, they are the ones influencing the parents.''
- ''or atleast be warned and noted that education puts Ghant forward''
- Ghant
- "I might bring something up about that to my father, although If he begins moving against the Northern Lords, there will be unrest."
- Legendardisch
- ''I could also show parents that education is great, so they learn how to make even better weapons, free of charge, local workshops. it always begins by taking the fear away from the parents''
- he said
- Legendardisch
- ''The more skills a man has, the more productive he is, to put it in terms of those northeners, better weapons equals a better warrior, better understanding of agriculture equals better harvests, i am sure those people want to learn those skills, and then slowly that fear that somehow education is evil will be gone.''
- Ghant
- Nathan chuckled, and then spoke. "You don't realize it, do you? In the North, all children born within the same cycle are raised communally. All of the children of the clan, or tribe, are your responsibility. And that system goes all the way up to the Chief. If people start leaving the clan or tribe to go to school, or to college, then the clan, or
- tribe ceases to exist."
- Legendardisch
- ''Sometimes you have to sacrifice the small things to ensure the longevity of the large things'' he said to the emperor.
- Ghant
- "Nobody up there will sacrifice anything that destroys their way of life."
- Legendardisch
- ''Legendardisch has communal schools, where most teachers are from the same community as the children. i am sure if this is done correctly, no clan or tribe will dissolve, even better, there will be more loyality'' he said, trying to be calm
- Ghant
- "And what if people don't want to participate, then what?"
- Legendardisch
- ''Then thats their choice''
- Ghant
- The Empress spoke up. "I will see what I can do the next time I speak to my father. Now, what is this talk of NEDO?"
- Legendardisch
- ''I think NEDO must pressure Demphor in choosing. I have strong indications that Ausitori/Libraria might be causing a full out war on the Escae continent, in all of our interests. we must avoid that at all costs. but i dont think that Demphor will be reliable if their navy is shared with that of Ausitoria.'' he said in a serious tone
- ''Ausitoria is a threat to all nations their integrity, credibility and honor''
- ''see Ausitoria like a snake.''
- Ghant
- The Empress was stoic in her response. "I will take care of it."
- Legendardisch
- ''I know the Escae continent is unstable due to Kamchastikia, but one shift in power, and you will get mass trouble. while i tried to stay out of it, i cant let it happen that Ausitoria is causing trouble left and right for their own gain, to put it better, they categorize EVERY nation into groups, they interveine everywhere, even if you say no, they will pressure you into changing your opinion and they will do anything to damage a nation. we must not tolerate that.''
- ''I also know that the Demphorian President recently visited Ghant''
- Legendardisch
- ''but back to Ausitoria. recently they applied to NEDO''
- Legendardisch
- ''When we as a nation blocked their entry by saying no, they threatened us, we ofcourse would put sanctions, but nonethless, we must be carefull by letting nations into NEDO, Ausitoria would have changed NEDO completely , like it did with other organizations.''
- Ghant
- (OOC: This is before the Demphorian visit)
- Legendardisch
- (OOC: okay scratch that one than)
- Ghant
- The Emperor grunted. "All Libraria does is talk. Don't worry about them."
- Legendardisch
- ''You should'' Bijker, slightly irritated, told
- ''This indication is very reliable.''
- ''because they wanted to pull us in that war.''
- ''but lets just say, we kinda did a dirty trick on them''
- Ghant
- The Empress was curious. "What did you do?
- "
- Legendardisch
- ''We agreed with them, but there was a treaty on the drawing table and thats when we said that we had to think about it. The treaty is ofcourse outrageous, we had to share our navy with Ausitoria at all costs, and for us, our Air Force too. this included material and personnel, we could not allow that ofcourse.''
- ''Plus, we have too many valuable assets in Escae, its too risky''
- ''but those talks opened our eyes about Ausitoria and how dangerous it is.''
- Ghant
- The Emperor laughed. "Never agree to anything with Libraria. Demphor will understand that by the time we are done with them."
- Legendardisch
- ''Its sad really, they were finally creeping up to modern day battleships.'' Bijker said while takin a sip of his beer
- ''anyone against me lighting one?''
- he held a cigar in his hand
- Ghant
- The Empress smiled as she gestured a hand. "With all due respect, Mr. President, I would prefer if you did not inside. I am with child. Nathan can take you outside if you would like, and walk you through the gardens, if you would like."
- Legendardisch
- ''Allright'' he smiled ''I tried to stop really, but well... habits be habits right'' pointing to Carolien
- Ghant
- The Emperor chuckled as he got up. "Old habits die hard, I have found. Follow me. Perhaps Carolien might stay here and discuss ladylike things with Sophia, and you and me can have some mantalk?"
- Legendardisch
- ''Sure'' he stood up and walked with Nathan to the gardens
- Ghant
- After walking around a bit, they came upon the doors to the garden, and Nathan pushed them open. "Well, here we are. Feel free to light up. You will have to excuse my wife. She is both very excited and very nervous for the first child. She is obsessing over it. Could be the next Emperor in there. She wants to make sure that everything is...good."
- Legendardisch
- ''My wife want another kid, really. But being a dad is nice, opens your eyes, makes you think differently about life you know'' he said while lighting one up
- Legendardisch
- ''But they can be tiring too, i asure you, but thats part of it. the first one is 15, second one is 10 and the youngest 6, 2 daughters and one son.''
- Ghant
- "God forbid its a girl though. They say the bulk of the Emperor's duties involve sifting through marriage proposals and courtship requests. Last thing I want is for the Palace to be crawling with hundreds of horny, power hungry boys."
- Legendardisch
- ''Well, I dont really know anything about parenting a royal persay... so i have no experience in that.''
- Ghant
- "But you have daughters though. Surely you worry about them, and about the boys that chase them?"
- Legendardisch
- ''I do, but i make sure they behave, thats why there are things like curfews.''
- ''but a 4 year old wont think about boys.''
- ''when they get 15 they do.''
- Ghant
- "Aye. Curfews, meh."
- Legendardisch
- ''But i'm glad for you, you will have wonderfull times, and sometimes not so wonderfull times.''
- Ghant
- "Yes, I am sure. How did you learn to speak such exquisite Ghantish?"
- Legendardisch
- ''When i was in High School we learned Ghantish, and in the navy we had a Ghantar, he was chef, and he did nothing but speak Ghantish.''
- ''i remember the times when i tried to tell him his food was not good..''
- ''he got that as a compliment, making the food more worse. turns out he was better with mechanics but the former captain of that ship put him to cook all day''
- Ghant
- Nathan laughed. "Sounds like a Ghantish chef alright. Always talking, and telling stories?"
- Legendardisch
- ''that too''
- ''but he told me he wanted to immigrate to Legendardisch for the sole purpose to work on large ships''
- ''unfortunately, he died while in combat'' Bijker told when looking to the ground
- Ghant
- "I am sorry to hear that. What was his family name?"
- Legendardisch
- (quick ghantar family name)
- Legendardisch
- ''Biskson''
- ''I still have it in my head, I was captain of a Aircraft Carrier, and suddenly kamikazes from the Jalinnor Secrecy begun to attack''
- ''the ship sunk, a few, including me survived''
- Ghant
- "Ah, pronounced, Bisks-on. Sounds like a name from Onmutu. Was he from the City?"
- Legendardisch
- ''it was a horrible moment, one i will never forget, but i am glad that religion is dieing.''
- ''Yes, Onmutu''
- Ghant
- "Yes. Many of those folks travel around, journeymen types. I don't care much for those Jalinnors either."
- Legendardisch
- ''When I was swore into office, i made a pledge to ban Jalinnor, its dieing religion and the extremism is just too much''
- Ghant
- "Good move then."
- Legendardisch
- ''So what are you going to do with Zimya?'' Bijker asked
- Ghant
- Nathan looked at his feet. "I don't know."
- Legendardisch
- ''Ghant surely has loopholes or constitutions in place to fire its PM?''
- Bijker threw the cigar away
- Ghant
- "I could disband Parliament and force new elections. Some have called for that. But Sophia doesn't think I should. She doesn't want the boat to get rocked. She says we should bide our time."
- Legendardisch
- ''But what if you would force Zimya to take mental tests''
- ''and she gets a result that makes her non functional for office..''
- Ghant
- Nathan laughed. "I can't force that."
- Legendardisch
- ''I know, would be funny anyways if the psych was a monarchist''
- Bijker looked to the sky ''its getting late, I promised my kids to see them on VeedChat, then I would go to sleep, and tommorow i would meet Zimya''
- Ghant
- "I would hope that the psych upholds their neutrality and keeps their oath. Oh, right. You and your wife and companions can stay in the Palace, if you would like."
- Legendardisch
- ''That would be splendid, and dont worry, I will only push some treaty proposals towards Zimya so she could sign them.''
- Ghant: "Watch yourself around her. She is like a snake, waiting to bite. In any case, there is a section of the palace for your personal use tonight, and my men will show you there."
- Legendardisch
- ''I know how to avoid snake bites, Ausitoria, nothing else.''
