Significant relationships

Knut: Your best friend since before either of you could walk, Knut is a tall, lanky bookworm whose head is generally lost in either a book or the clouds. Wants to see the world, as much as possible. He is also a Paladin of Odin.

Anders: Another childhood friend, Anders is a brash and boastful young man. Overly confident of himself, he has a mouth and an attitude to get himself into trouble, but the combat prowess to get himself out most of it. He is also a Paladin of Odin.

Erik: The last of your group of Paladins, Erik is a quiet, bitter pessimist. He's a carpenter by trade, he enjoys carving small figures from blocks of wood. He prefers unarmed combat and daggers, as he's been unable to grasp the use of larger weapons.

Sven: Your father, who lost a good chunk of his left hand to a sword wound on the English coast. He's overprotective since seeing his life unravel, and bitter since losing his wife and eldest son.

Big Bjorn: The village's raidmaster, and the closest thing you have to a local Jarl. A very rich man, and effectively has a monopoly on raids that leave the village.

Gunnar: A liutenant to Big Bjorn, Gunnar is in charge of the raids that leave for the Baltic each spring in order to boost food stores for the year.

Olaf: Knut's father, he runs the local trading post and has a rather modest collection of books in different languages.

Astrid: Knut's younger sister, a quiet young girl who is much more interested in art and beauty than she is in raiding or pillaging.

Svala: Shield maiden and general bitch. Easily the most dangerous woman in the village, she seems to have a general distaste for you.

Half-Handed Haki: Owns and operates the local mead hall, and universally thought of as a real fuckin' dick. Lost a few fingers when a ships rigging wrapped them, and jokes are made that he and Sven have most of a left hand between them.

Ulrich: The head priest at the temple, and the man who told you about your being a Paladin.

Hilda and Helga: A pair of creepy sisters and known witches. Will perform feats of magic in return for favors.

Geira: The town healer and general busybody. Means well, though.

Goti: The town blacksmith

Ingrid, Brynhild, and Sada: A trio of girls from the next village over. You and Anders think Erik is sweet on Ingrid, and you've had adult relations with Sada.
