  1. >Zaeru the Flameborn
  2. A decade ago, when the lizardfolk of Balari were just beginning to crawl out of their primal state and establishing their first small village, a great inferno raged throughout, decimating everything in it's path. Dozens died in the chaos, and the some of the survivors, fleeing in terror, looked back and were treated to the horrific sight of their small hatchery engulfed in flames and collapsing.

  4. When the flames died down, the surviving lizardfolk of Balari tread sullenly through the wreckage of their small village, stopping just short of the ruined hatchery. Bracing themselves, they entered the collapsed building only to find all their fears had come true- Every egg had been consumed by the hungry flames. That is, until an angry and sad kick of a section of ruined wall revealed a single egg that had escaped unharmed from the inferno. Unscathed, and starting to move. The survivors gathered and watched in awe as the egg began to hatch, until out came a tiny lizardling, bright yellow as their god, the radiant Sul'Ingu, the Lightbringer. From that moment on, he was known as the Flameborn, chosen by the sun to lead his people to glory.

  8. Hot, humid, and dark, with little sunlight reaching the forest floor, it is nothing short of a miracle that the cold-blooded lizardmen of Balari have achieved sapience. However, that miracle did occur, only a short decade and a half ago. Fanatically devoted to their god, Sul'Ingu, the Lightbringer they have been obsessed with unlocking the secrets of fire ever since the fire that spawned Zaeru, which they believe was sent by their god to lead them to the greatest leader that had been, and will ever be born.
