Edwin Pennywise Backstory

Edwin Pennywise was born and raised in the lands of CLASSIFIED as an orphan. His mother was killed by CLASSIFIED and his father ran off with a Prostitute who promised she'd rock his world if he saved her from the life of being a lady of the night. He was old enough by then to be somewhat on his own and managed to find an instructor who would take him on as an apprentice. He was a natural at magic and advanced quickly but he had a sickening curiosity for the unknown. It is what prompted him to attempt magic that he knew little of in hopes of making a name for himself. The spell went horribly wrong and as a result Edwins body has begun to decay and rot from within. His strength saps from his body slowly and soon he shall be nothing more than another husk that decorates the wastelands. He has never been one of faith due to his upbringing. His parents were not religious and his masters were men of magic before they were men of god. He has never had a reason to believe that any miracle is not simply magic in play. Edwin chooses to hide his body from the sight of others. People may shun him or see him as a walking threat of plague so as a precaution, he keeps himself well hidden in his robes and wears a mask imbued with illusion magic to protect himself from ignorance. He has come to the new world in search of an artifact rumored to be hidden away. A means of making permanent his work and to finally end his quest of escaping his own failure.
