A guard of a quiet small town. Rarely wears armor and equipment outside of official and town-wide events with the exception of a small sword that he almost always wears. Due to the fact that the town has practically no crime, he is more often than not either doing odd jobs or reading fantasy novels that have a heavy effect on his imagination, more than he'd admit.
Was always a fantasy nerd, even in his early school days. Shortly after he got his cutiemark the town guard died and through an "unusual turn of events" he was chosen (In truth the mayor thought all the other eligible ponies would be a bigger contribution if they were to be farmers or whatever else they wished as there were very rarely any real threats to the town and she was honestly wondering what she was to do with the odd book nerd pegasus. It all worked out since he had asked to be a guard in the first place under the reasons of "Protecting the weak and innocent" or some hogwash like that, what a silly pony....)
Sidenotes: having practically had to train himself he's developed an unorthodox and slightly impractical fighting style inspired by several of his favorite fantasy heroes, while its actually pretty effective, he has almost zero combat experience.
