As they sat in the bed of his truck, staring up at the stars, he contemplated what he would be doing with his life if he wasn't with her. Surely he wouldn't be as happy, he thought. Happiness was a hard thing for him to come by, yet here he sat, holding hands with the one person who made it easy. He wondered how he had gotten lucky enough to meet such an amazing girl who could bring him to his knees with one look. Just by looking at her, his heart rate raced out of control. She left him breathless. He asked himself everyday how he would've made it without her there to lead his way when he got lost. She kept him grounded despite his feeling of floating whenever she was present.
He wrapped his arms around her, letting her know he was there for her whenever she needed him. He wanted to make her as happy as she made him. The stars that illuminated the sky overhead shined into her eyes, leaving him at a loss for words at her beauty. They stared into each other's eyes, the love they had for each other emitting through their affectionate gazes. She lifted up her hand to touch his face, tracing his features with her thumb. He closed his eyes and savored the innocent touch that set his nerves on fire. He reached up and placed his hand over hers in silent thanks. As they sat side by side, he leaned his head on hers, his face turned, his eyes opening to once again stare into hers. She leaned into him, letting out a sigh of content as she dropped her hand from his face. A silent moment passed between them, their silent proclamations being conveyed through their intense gaze. He then turned his face slightly more, reaching up to cup her face with his left hand as his forehead met hers. His lips parted, a breath away from hers, whispering his decrees of love before she closed the distance between them, melding their lips into one.
