  5. I had £069 left and therefore bought a goodybag for £10
  6. However, it still says 0.69 pence and I'm having other issues too, with maps and googleshop not working on Android. And earlier kept getting disconnected when on the phone
  7.
  8. Thanks you

  12. Hi Conrad,
  13.
  14. Cheers for getting in touch, I see that you are having a few issues. I will do my best to explain everything.
  15.
  16. Buying a goodybag does not affect your balance Conrad, it is separate from your credit and instead gives you a monthly package. The goodybag lasts until 08 Aug 2013 and has 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data.
  17.
  18. When are you getting connected? Is this when you are on a call? Can you tell me when it happened and if it was specific to one number?
  19.
  20. Regarding your maps and google shop issue, your SIM has been barred for mobile internet use. I can also see that you have been barred for mobile internet use within the past 30 days.
  21.
  22. When your SIM was barred for the first time, you were reminded of giffgaff’s terms and conditions, more specifically you were referred to the following section:
  23.
  24. 3.10. Your use of the Services must be for your private, personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not use your SIM Card:
  25.
  26. a) in or connected to any other device including modems, dongles and tablet devices, or any other way to connect to a PC (unless you are on a gigabag or a goodybag plan with a limited mobile internet allowance). This includes using your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot in order to connect multiple devices, and any other form of tethering activity.
  27.
  28. b) for any form of automated usage of mobile services;
  29.
  30. c) fraudulently;
  31.
  32. d) in such a way that adversely impacts the service to other giffgaff customers; or
  33.
  34. e) illegally.
  35.
  36. If giffgaff reasonably suspects you are not acting in accordance with the conditions of this clause, giffgaff reserves the right to impose standard charges, impose network protection controls (which may reduce your speed of transmission), remove a Bundle from your account or block access to the internet at any time, and/or bar or suspend your SIM Card from the Service, having first tried to contact you.
  37.
  38. We can see that you have used your unlimited mobile internet goodybag SIM card in a modem, dongle or tablet device for the second time within a month and therefore your mobile internet access has again been barred. Once your goodybag has expired, you will be able to re-activate your mobile internet service by contacting a giffgaff Agent via giffgaff.com.
  39.
  40. If you would like more information on our process for identifying and preventing illegitimate mobile internet usage on giffgaff, please see our FAQ post here: http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Learn-giffgaff-Top-Tips/Policy-to-manage-illegitimate-usage-and-tethering-with-unlimited/ta-p/5577838.
  41.
  42. If you get back to us and can explain how you were not using your SIM in a way that is against our terms & conditions, then we will consider the case further.
  43.
  44. Kind Regards
  45.

  50. I am not aware of having done anything untoward.
  51. I connected the phone to my wireless. Is that illegal?
  52.
  53. I need internet and gps on my smartphone, otherwise, I'm limited to calls and that is not why i got giffgaff

  57. We can not switch on and activate the hotspot function of our phone, to create wifi for our laptops when not at home, in a cafe for e.g?
  58. That is absurd.
  59. I never heard of that. With three and any other network provider as far as I'm aware we can use our smartphones to create a hotspot for our laptops when away from home to create a internet connection.
  60. If that is not the case with giffgaff,
  61. you've NOT made that clear and secondly, I shall not use giffgaff any longer.
  62. Vigin Media are offering a sim for unlimited use of everything for £15 = no (giffgaff stupid rules) headaches and hacking away at a computer to discuss (unnecessary, due to stupid rules) problems with "Agents"
