  1. JOBS: Thief / Mystic Knight / Black Mage / Summoner
  2.
  3. Gil Turtle:
  4. - I fight using Summoner w/Spellsword
  5. - Equipment is Dancing Dagger, Lamia's Tiara, Gaia Gear, Elven Mantle
  6. - I stole the Lamia's Tiara earlier back in Lonka Ruins. This increases the odds of Sword Dance from the Dagger
  7. - The strategy is to use Golem to block his high-damaging physicals, then use Blizzara Sword with the Dancing Dagger to do heavy damage.
  8. - I'm fighting him before Moore (no Blizzaga) because this strategy works anyway. For the record, I would do around 6500~ with Blizagga Sword, and Blizagga itself does 3000 if boosted by Frost Rod.
  9.
  10. - Gil Turtle's offense...most of the time, he needs three attacks to break Golem at the present level. However, if he gets two high rolls, he can get it done with just those. So I need to be careful.
  11. - I only attack Gil Turtle if he's done one non-high damage roll. If he's done two attacks, I wait for the third.
  12. - Even so, this is carries a bit of a risk, as this highlight shows. Gil Turtle counters twice when he takes HP damage, and can get two turns to my one. If Elven Mantle (33%) does not proc after an attack when he has taken one attack, I can die from a one-two-three-four. I barely avoided this a couple times in the fight, either by getting lucky enough not to have the fourth come or making the last dodge.

  15.
  16. Omega:
  17. - I fight using Mystic Knight w/Summon. It's technically possible to do without summon, but it provides a nice safeguard.
  18. - Equipment is Dancing Dagger, Aegis Shield, Genji Helm, Mirage Vest, Hermes Sandles
  19. - I toyed with the idea of using _Thornlet_ here, but Rocket Punch was being obstructive, so I went with the Genji Helm instead to protect against Confusion.
  20. - Similarly, I wanted to try shield swapping strats, much like I did in my solo Cannoneer run, to absorb Flamethrower and Atomic Ray every now and then. However, this resets Spellsword, so I can't do it. Aegis Shield blocks Delta Attack and
  21. - Mirage Vest is just for the magic defense. Hermes Sandles for the speed.
  22. - Dancing Dagger uses !Dance 50% of the time. The result we want out of it is Sword Dance, for its perfect accuracy.
  23.
  24. - I go in with less than max HP to trigger Magic Shell. This halves the damage from the magic attacks and greatly reduces the accuracy of other attacks, but only triggers at very low HP. Note that it doesn't trigger under Silence, so Rainbow Wind turn 3 is a reset.
  25. - I also go in with Float (gotten from North Mountain by using Tempting Tango from a Gaiacata), to protect against 6000+ damage Earthquakes.
  26. - I start off with Thundaga Blade. Wave Cannon always does 1/2 Max HP damage, so two in a row without healing is invariably fatal. I use a Hi-Potion, and the next one triggers Magic Shell.
  27. - Mystic Knight has just enough speed to double-turn Omega with Haste, if the first attack comes right after one of Omega's.
  28. - Together with Thundaga Blade, a Sword Dance does 9999 damage - and this attack cannot be evaded, either through Omega's 95% natural physical evade or blind status brought on from Rainbow Wind. Regular hits that somehow get through (and more got through than I expected...makes me wonder if it's different on GBA) do around 4500~
  29. - I occasionally cast Carbunkle, usually after the no-interrupt sequence. This bounces Search; it not only causes Omega's next attack to target itself, but this also applies to any counterattacks it does in the meantime. It also bounces Blaster, which has otherwise has a 50% chance of killing me.
  30. - Rainbow Wind of course, inflicts Silence and makes me have a heart attack praying for no Blasters.
  31. - There are three good places to try and make an attack at Omega. Anything else is risky.
  32. - After the first Wave Cannon in the script, I can heal and make an attack. The next attack from Omega will never kill me, and I can heal before the second Wave Cannon
  33. - After he bounces a Search onto himself. He can't kill me unless I'm at low health and he reflects Atomic Ray.
  34. - Right before he uses Search, though not preferable if I can Carbunkle instead
  35.
  36. - Thing that kill me:
  37. - Maelstorm if it hits when I don't have full ATB
  38. - Instant death from Blaster
  39. - Encircle succeeding
  40. - A Mustard Bomb at low health
  41. - Getting too overconfident with the risk-taking (getting hit by Rocket Punch into a Wave Cannon)
