  1. >Yuna not only remains a hero, but has actually become a sort of guardian diety. At first Yuna seemed completely wiped out, while everyone else got better. It sort of seemed liked she took all of their burdens on herself. Then all the girls looked after her, gave her presents, and tended to her comitose form.
  2.
  3. >Almost like offerings.
  4.
  5. >What if their faith was what healed her? She took their burdens, becoming more 'divine' while they returned to normalcy, then was restored by their faith, which was more genuine and deeper then some rote devotion. You know who else seems comatose and unresponsive? The Shinju itself.
  6.
  7. >Maybe that was supposed to be the endgame of Hero system? Making new gods from humanity to reinfonce the barrier - and maybe, someday push back against the Vertexes. Even makes more sense if you think on how on just about every myth heroes often ascend to divinity.
  8.
  9. >Yuuna ascend because she is the most, well, heroic, till the end (In spirit, the body was left). She becomes a new guardian deity to defend the Shinju, and the remains of humanity, against any Vertex that makes it through the Shinju's barrier. The girls can be dismissed and receive their body parts back because with a new goddess in the pantheon there is surplus power to heal the other girls. But the girls prayed for her to come back, so she grants their wish and reincarnate an avatar.

  20. In one of yesterday's threads, the idea of Yuuna becoming some kind of god was already discussed.
  21.
  22. Given that the base for the story is the Japanese mythology where humans can become gods, it would fit the story nicely.
  23.
  24. IIRC, there was also some kind of story where a mother (?) of one of those human-made gods conquered some land. Maybe somebody can dig up the names/backstory again.
  25.
  26. I could definitely see S2 working with a new batch of heroes trying to reclaim land from the Vortex with Yuuna as leader/guardian deity. It would also fit nicely why Yuuna's chapter AS A HERO is over because she's a god now.
