  3. Effect: The Knife That Severs is a slow action useable three times a session. You must have previously struck an opponent with a physical attack to activate The Knife That Severs against them. When The Knife That Severs is resolved, perform a Darkside attack with the Piercing property that deals non-elemental rather than Shadow element damage. On a successful hit, choose one of the effects below and roll opposed Force against one of the attack's targets. On a success, the user disables all of the target's abilities under the chosen effect's category for the remainder of combat. This is effective even against opponents immune to Seal. Only one effect from The Knife That Severs may be active on a foe at a time.

  5. The Knife That Severs Bonds - Disables Blue Magic and abilities/attacks otherwise gained through another being - such as positive status effects, Teamwork Attacks, Combinations Attacks, or Summoning abilities.

The Knife That Severs Passions - Disables White Magic, abilities, and other things that are fueled off of emotions such as Trance, From The Heart, many Dark Knight abilities, status effects like Berserk, Charm, or Fear (and the enemy may not inflict these either), and on a roll of at least 5,5 additionally inflicts Zombie, even if the enemy would normally be immune.

  9. The Knife That Severs Thought - Disables Black and Time Magic, as well as abilities that require involved thought such as Engineer's Invent (and many other Engineer abilities), Opus, Lore checks, and consumable item use.
