Mar 28 15:43:06 <Knave>	A morning walk around the grounds to clear his head had sounded like a good idea. It had turned into a jog and now he was glistening with sweat before class. Callum sat hunched on a seat in the Gazebo, breathing deeply and looking at nothing with a vague expression on his stony face.
Mar 28 15:45:17 <LipstickThespian>	"Callum-chan," came the cheery almost sing song voice of Yukihime as she stood at the entrance of the Gazebo.  It was luck that she might have seem him jogging before classes and she had come to see him.  Still in her boring navy blue seifuku uniform, a schoolbag over her shoulder, and looking a lot more put together than the sweaty Callum. "Good morning, did you have a good run?"
Mar 28 15:48:10 <Knave>	Callum straightened up in his seat, rolling his shoulders in a way that might have been a shrug. "Morning." He ran the back of wrist across his forehead. His plain white tee, drawn with unsightly sweatmarks, wasn't any more glamorous than Yuki's uniform. "I guess, yeah. How are you?"
Mar 28 15:50:24 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki held her hands behind her back and seemed to bounce into the gazebo in a very lazy little walk, before she drops down to sit next to Callum on the bench.  Only then sitting up a bit to smooth her skirt underneath her, after she's already sat down.  "I'm really good, I love the mornings here. They're so bright and so quiet."
Mar 28 15:53:42 <Knave>	Callum watched the girl approach and sit down with a blank curiosity. "Yeah. They're not so bad." He rolled his shoulders again, sliding slightly away from the girl. Trying to compress himself and take up less space on the bench they shared. "It was a little warmer back home."
Mar 28 15:55:40 <LipstickThespian>	Compared to life in the city, it was a pretty unique experience for Yuki to be in a small town.  She wasn't a small girl by any means, but next to Callum she almost looked childish. More so than her demeanor might suggest.  "Well, the cold is somewhat annoying, but I think we'll manage!"  She turned to look at him, "hey! Remember how we were talking about baseball the other day?"
Mar 28 15:57:45 <Knave>	"Yeah." Despite his best efforts, the relaxation that flowed through his body was visible. Baseball was firm ground. He smiled slightly as he looked down at her, "What about it?"
Mar 28 15:59:19 <LipstickThespian>	"Well," Yuki says as she digs into her school bag and pulls out a small sheet of paper. Written in her native Japanese, but there's a few english names on the list. "The school approved me to start a baseball club!  And, well, since you had talked to me about it," she sort of trails off with a half laugh.  "You don't have to," she snaps as she looks up at him, "I just thought it might be fun! Maybe."
Mar 28 16:02:29 <Knave>	Callum chuckled, his smile broadening, "Absolutely. That sounds great. Sign me right up." The arm on Yuki's side lifts up and over the back of the bench, dangling behind it, "Anyone else I might know already on board?"
Mar 28 16:05:10 <LipstickThespian>	"Okay!" Yuki says with a bit of brightness in her demeanor as she sets the piece of paper down on the bench between them to write.  "Well, ah, Lisa-chan and Ayame-chan. I was going to ask some more but I saw you first."  She holds a pencil over an empty line and then looks up at Callum. "Sorry Callum-chan, I don't know how to spell your name. Would you help me?"
Mar 28 16:07:41 <Knave>	"It's fine, I'm not sure my parents spelled it right either." He smiles and plucks the pencil from the girl's hand, writing out 'Callum Ellis' in a neat, round hand. He dots the i with a little circle, then turns the paper back around and offers the pencil back.
Mar 28 16:10:30 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki's pencil is snatched from her, with it's cute little colors and designs and carefully sharpened point. A pencil case and it's contents were, after all, sacred to any schoolgirl.  "Thank you," she says as she takes the pencil and the paper. "That wasn't as hard as I imagined it to be!  Now I know to wait until you're all sweaty to beg you for things."  This is followed by an awkward little laugh and then the realization that her words might have other meanings.
Mar 28 16:12:59 <Knave>	"Um. You," Callum looks away, fiddles with the hair on the back of his head as his cheeks flush slightly, "You don't have to beg. I mean. Sorry." He lets out a heavy breath and sags forward, "Sorry, I get flustered easily, and after what your friend said yesterday... Nevermind." He pulls his head back up and smiles weakly, "You don't have to be nervous about asking me things, okay?"
Mar 28 16:17:04 <LipstickThespian>	Only when Callum reacts does Yuki also have a bit of color hit her cheeks, quickly.  "I ah, sorry," she says as she holds the paper in her lap and glances down at it.  "S-she's not really a friend, we both met her at lunch that day and. Well."  With a deep breath she tries to calm her nerves. "Okay Callum-chan. I won't be nervous when I ask you things. Like, if I maybe wanted to hang out after class."  She quickly adds, "you know! Since we're both new here. It might be nice to explore each other," then her face goes pale and she quickly corrects herself, "WITH each other!  Explore the campus, with each other," and then she fizzles out into a small whine.
Mar 28 16:20:14 <Knave>	Callum looks at Yuki, then shuts the mouth that he realises he'd left hanging open. "Listen," He begins, leaning forward, unable to stop himself smiling, "I'm not so great with words myself, so how about we agree not to worry when we say stuff that sounds silly in front of each other, okay?" He offers a hand to shake on it, but it hangs from his elbow much more loosely than the stiff one he offers with each introduction.
Mar 28 16:23:03 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki might have been crumbling the edges of her paper as she sat there in her never ending embarassment.  Stupid new life, where she always seemed to mispeak.  "O-okay!" She's more than willing to agree to that, but agreeing is one thing.  It might take her a while to feel comfortable, or at least joke off statements like those.  Handshakes were still weird to her, and she reached a hand from her lap to loosely shake his.  A light, and almost delicate handshake.  "We do tend to say silly things in front of each other."
Mar 30 15:18:16 <Knave>	Callum's hand, enveloping hers, had a light touch common to huge dudes who are constantly trying not to break things. "That we do." After he lets his loose grip go, he says, "I think hanging out after class sounds like a great idea, Yuki."
Mar 30 15:25:39 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki takes her hand back to her lap and rests it there.  "Then we'll do that, I get out of my last class around four in the afternoon.  Maybe we can meet up a little after that?"
Mar 30 15:27:50 <Knave>	"Absolutely." Callum nods, a small, content smile on his face, his body hunched forward a little, "I'll meet you here?"
Mar 30 15:39:25 <LipstickThespian>	"Yes," Yuki says with another quick nod of her head as she slips her little recruitment paper into her bag.  "Have a good day in class until then, okay?"  She stands up and brushes off the back of her skirt and then gives Callum a short bow.  "Bye Callum-chan!"  With that, she turns and walks off, giving a small wave goodbye as she exits the gazebo and heads towards the class building.
Mar 30 15:41:22 <Knave>	"You too." Callum says to Yuki's retreating figure, raising a hand in kind as she leaves. With the same hand he then wipes at his brow and temples, sagging in his seat with a deep sigh as the morning spins on.
Mar 30 15:49:56 <LipstickThespian>	It's a few hours later, about four thirty in the afternoon, when Yuki finds herself back at the Gazebo.  She was a little late, not because class went long or anything, but she had to run to her room and change.  You can't wear your school uniform everywhere!  So she walks to the gazebo wearing simple small black shorts, with black thighhi socks, as well as a simple pale blue tshirt and a salmon colored hoodie over top of it.  Plus, maybe a little makeup, and sunglasses on top of her head.  She checks the time on her phone, curses her lateness, and then looks around for Callum.
Mar 30 15:52:12 <Knave>	She finds him emerging from behind one of the gazebo's pillars, apparently looking for her, as a smile spreads across his face when he sees her. Callum, apparently, did not get the memo about changing after class. He's wearing the same white tee and jeans he was wearing this morning. "Hey."
Mar 30 15:58:15 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki runs the small little bit of distance to get to Callum and stops just short of him. "Hey Callum-chan!" She says as she pulls her purse over her shoulder to hang there, "how were your classes today?"
Mar 30 16:00:11 <Knave>	Callums turns the question over in his head, tilting it left and right, "I was present. They said a lot of words. I wrote some of them down." He shrugs, "Not bad. How about you?"
Mar 30 16:03:14 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki lets out a small laugh at the simplistic explanation of class procedure.  "It was about the same, there was a quiz in one of my classes.  Just another day in school, no matter what part of the world we're in."
Mar 30 16:04:48 <Knave>	"I guess so." Callum leans against the gazebo, "Is it hard, being from so far away?"
Mar 30 16:07:25 <LipstickThespian>	"Well," Yuki says as she looks up to the ceiling like it holds the answer. "It's very different. But I haven't thought much about it, to be honest.  Being far from home is the least weird thing about my life now."  She glances back down at him, "where did you come from Callum? It started with a K! I remember that much."
Mar 30 16:09:42 <Knave>	"Kansas. Five states away." Callum nods, fiddling with the hair by his temple, "A town called Little Springs."
Mar 30 16:10:41 <LipstickThespian>	"Little Springs, Kansas." Yuki says as she commits it to memory, "that sounds like such a small town. Like from the movies."
Mar 30 16:11:58 <Knave>	"Pretty much. Beautiful place, not much to it." Callum smiles a little, then pushes upright away from the fence, "Come on, you still want to take that walk around campus?"
Mar 30 16:15:03 <LipstickThespian>	"Ya!" Yuki says as she takes a step over to keep next to Callum, "let's go for a walk together!"  She starts out of the gazebo and down one of the paths in a leisure filled pace.
Mar 30 16:17:21 <Knave>	Callum, hands in pockets, keeps easy pace with her, "So, if you don't mind me asking, what is it that makes you Sunnybrook material?" A hint of uncharacteristic sarcasm bites into the last two words. Callum remembers the men in black suits who came to talk to us his parents using the phrase.
Mar 30 16:19:26 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki keeps her arms crossed across her chest as she walked, her outfit is still very light for the cold weather here.  The hoodie is more fashion than warmth. The sunglasses also aren't really needed, the sun is bright, but they just sit on top of her head.  The question gets her to laugh, "that's a nice way to ask it. Well, ah, it's really a dumb reason.  Just, I don't know how to explain it, but odd things happen to me."

Mar 30 16:23:44 <Knave>	"Nothing odd except me." He corrects, looking down at her with a smile, "Odds things didn't happen. My life was just one long... being odd."
Mar 30 16:28:01 <LipstickThespian>	"I don't think you're odd," Yuki says as she looks forward to watch the path. "You're just tall, and a little soft spoken. But it's very nice, you know. To meet someone that looks like you, and find out they are considerate and calm."
Mar 30 16:30:14 <Knave>	Callum nods, closing his eyes briefly, "Thank you." His mouth twitches up into a smile, "If you don't mind me saying, you make me feel normal." He holds up a finger to correct himself, "I don't mean I think you're odd or anything. I just don't feel like I have to worry about it around you. Does that make sense?"
Mar 30 16:33:04 <LipstickThespian>	"I make you feel normal?" Yuki says as she sees the smile, she rolls her shoulder a bit to keep her bag from slipping off her shoulder from the walking.  "Well, that does make sense. Thank you, I guess."  Then there's another of her small little laughs, "there's so many odd students here. It's some odd coincidence that you sat at my table at lunch."
Mar 30 16:34:46 <Knave>	Callum shrugs, and casts his eyes to the ground, almost mumbling, "You seemed nice."
Mar 30 16:39:37 <LipstickThespian>	"Well," Yuki says as she pulls back, "we'll see about that!"  Then she sends a very, well, small Japanese schoolgirl who plays Tennis as her only excercise, punch. Right into Callum's arm! Playfully, of course.
Mar 30 16:42:13 <Knave>	Callum chuckles at the hit, shaking his head, "I could lift you up in one hand, Yuki, don't tempt me." He puts out his right arm and starts winding it up, Popeye-style, "I bet you don't want me to try giving you one back, huh?"
Mar 30 16:43:22 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki steps aside, to the otherside of the path. Like an extra foot of distance will protect her from Callum's reach.  "You can't hit a girl Callum-chan, don't you know the rules?"
Mar 30 16:44:35 <Knave>	"You can hit girls if they hit you first." Callum says, grinning, but putting his arm down by his side anyway.
Mar 30 16:47:29 <LipstickThespian>	"Well, then next time I'll have to make sure it counts." Yuki says with some amount of confidence.  "Callum-chan, what kind of food do you like?"
Mar 30 16:50:18 <Knave>	"Hn?" Callum turns his head at the change of tack, then returns his eyes to the path and shrugs, "I like Italian, I guess. Why?"
Mar 30 16:51:15 <LipstickThespian>	"I just wanted to know more about you," Yuki says with a glance over, "that's what we're supposed to do. Right? Talk about our interests?"  She seems a little unsure of herself as she says it.
Mar 30 16:52:41 <Knave>	Callum shrugs again, "I'm not great at making friends myself. Sorry."  Brightening up, he prompts, "How about you?"
Mar 30 16:54:53 <LipstickThespian>	"Ah, I'm really a big fan of traditional foods.  The stuff that takes forever to cook.  But I have a place in my heart for noodles, no matter what!"  Yuki says before making sure to correct, "traditional food from my country. Sorry, I should have said."
Mar 30 16:55:49 <Knave>	"I figured." Callum knocks on his forehead, smiling "Not as dumb as I look, believe it or not."
Mar 30 16:58:18 <LipstickThespian>	"Sorry," Yuki says with a small laugh at the knock. "I don't think you're dumb, I was just trying to explain myself.  Don't beat yourself over it!"
Mar 30 17:00:59 <Knave>	"It's fine. I am as dense as I look." He thrusts his hands back into his pockets, "One time I took a baseball at full speed to the temple, barely rattled me. This was a little before my folks told me that I was a little different to the other kids."
Mar 30 17:02:40 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki laughs at first and then continues to laugh at the visual of Callum standing there dumb founded as he took a baseball to the face.  She holds her arms across her stomach as she laughs, and eventually manages to squeak out "you probably apologized to the baseball."
Mar 30 17:04:39 <Knave>	Callum smiles, weakly, as a touch of pink spreads to his ears. After a while of the laughter he mumbles, "Didn't know it was that funny."
Mar 30 17:06:47 <LipstickThespian>	"It is," Yuki says as she wipes a tear from the corner of her eye and eventually calms herself down.  "Sorry, it's just a really funny thing to happen."
Mar 30 17:09:30 <Knave>	"If you think that's funny, you should see my 'falling down a well' routine." Callum smirks to himself, walking backwards and looking at Yuki with a cocked eyebrow.
Mar 30 17:10:13 <LipstickThespian>	"Don't do that!" Yuki says as she looks up at him and watches him walk backward, "you'll get very wet if you do that!"
Mar 30 17:11:19 <Knave>	Callum doubles over in a burst of laughter, then straightens up with a broad smile on his face, "Gosh, Yuki, I'm flattered you're so concerned for my wellbeing."
Mar 30 17:19:04 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki seems a bit surprised that it was a joke, and then a bit angered that it was a joke.  Then she joins in with a smile.  "No one likes being wet, unless they're at the beach. Right?"
Mar 30 17:20:24 <Knave>	Callum shrugs, looking up at the sky, "I don't know. I don't mind it. I like being out in the rain, for instance."
Mar 30 17:23:07 <LipstickThespian>	"I prefer being under an umbrella," Yuki says. "I do enjoy the rain, it's really relaxing and fun to listen to."
Mar 30 17:24:23 <Knave>	"Yeah." Callum turns to face the right way and walk by Yuki's side again, "It's relaxing."

Mar 30 17:53:49 <LipstickThespian>	"Well, I mean, I do watch some movies. But they're kind of embarassing," Yuki says, "but you told me your embarassing thing. So I'll share. I really like Anime movies."

Mar 30 18:02:19 <Knave>	"Yeah. Just me." Callum sounds almost sombre about it, then perks up, "Wouldn't have minded a little brother or sister. What about you?"
Mar 30 18:03:29 <LipstickThespian>	"I have an older brother, but he's a real pain sometimes." Yuki says, "he was always trying to look out for me and causing trouble."
Mar 30 18:04:00 <Knave>	"Yeah?" Callum cocks an eyebrow, "What kind of trouble?"
Mar 30 18:05:43 <LipstickThespian>	"Just getting too involved in my life," Yuki says with a sigh. "I know he meant well but sometimes you need to let your sister be a teenager."
Mar 30 18:06:36 <Knave>	"That makes sense." Callum exhales in an almost-laugh, "To be honest, he sounds like the kind of big brother I would have been."
Mar 30 18:07:34 <LipstickThespian>	"Well, I'm sure you wouldn't have been that annoying." Yuki says, "besides. He didn't have any hobbies of his own."
Mar 30 18:08:31 <Knave>	"Ah, well," Callum looks off, his voice vague again, "Everyone needs a hobby."
Mar 30 18:09:44 <LipstickThespian>	"What's your hobby?" Yuki says as she leans forward and looks over at him.
Mar 30 18:10:31 <Knave>	Callum shrugs slightly, then looks back down at Yuki, "Baseball, I guess."
Mar 30 18:11:57 <LipstickThespian>	"Okay," Yuki says with a nod, "that's a good hobby. I think."
Mar 30 18:13:55 <Knave>	"Keeps me out of trouble. Usually." He winces in recollection of broken windows and comedic, off-screen cat yowls, "What about you? Any hobbies?"
Mar 30 18:14:49 <LipstickThespian>	"Well," Yuki says as she tries to frame it in a good way. "I like to watch television and play games, I read a lot too."
Mar 30 18:15:40 <Knave>	Callum nods slowly. He hates to be judgemental, but his parents also had instilled him with Views. "Reading is good." He says evenly.
Mar 30 18:17:56 <LipstickThespian>	"It is good," Yuki says as they turn around a corner. "You're, well.  Really nice.  Why is that?"
Mar 30 18:19:52 <Knave>	Callum slows to a stop and looks into Yuki's eyes, his face a picture of earnest goodness. "People ought to be nice to each other." He says, just a shade from his normal level tones. He says it like he'd point out a piece of scenery. Like stating the obvious.
Mar 30 18:22:43 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki slows as well and looks up at him, it was a bit of an effort to turn her head up to see him every time.  "Yes," she agrees simply as she tries to not sound insincere. "But a lot of people, they have good intentions, they just sometimes act mean. You don't. Why?"
Mar 30 18:24:15 <Knave>	Callum shrugs, one hand in his pocket and the other rubbing the pack of his neck, "I guess my parents raised me right."
Mar 30 18:25:09 <LipstickThespian>	"What happens if this school turns you into a villian?" Yuki says, "I mean. You're not in Kansas anymore, you know?"
Mar 30 18:27:35 <Knave>	"I just gotta hope it won't." Callum looks down into Yuki's eyes then continues, "Tell you what, if I ever stop being so nice, it's your job to slap me for it, okay?"
Mar 30 18:31:33 <LipstickThespian>	"Okay," Yuki says with a nod, "and the same for me. Okay?  Well, maybe not just once, but if I keep not being nice."
Mar 30 18:32:36 <Knave>	"Okay." Callum nods, then resumes their walking pace, "I probably won't slap you though. I don't know my own strength."
Mar 30 18:34:34 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki has to run a bit to catch up, after standing for a second to make sure they were walking again.  "Well, then you'll just have to give me a stern lecture."
Mar 30 18:35:26 <Knave>	"I'll have to keep it brief. I've told you I'm not great with words." Callum smiles, slowing down a little once Yuki's caught up.
Mar 30 18:40:18 <LipstickThespian>	"Just give me one of your, 'well my parents used to tell me' things." Yuki says as they head back around the dorms.
Mar 30 18:41:26 <Knave>	Callum laughs a little, "Okay. That I can do. Not much with words, but I have a good memory."
Mar 30 18:42:38 <LipstickThespian>	"Do you remember," Yuki says, "what I was eating when we first met?"
Mar 30 18:45:33 <Knave>	"Uh, noodles, right?" He says, only a little uncertain of himself.

Mar 30 18:48:33 <Knave>	Callum smiles, a hint of satisfaction in his voice, "Told you."

Mar 30 18:50:15 <Knave>	"Sure thing." Callum says, blankly. It probably went without saying that the walk had been fairly gentle for him.
Mar 30 18:51:14 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki, however, had a long day in class and walking might have tired her out. She finds a bench for them to sit on, dropping down in the center of it.  "It really is a nice campus."
Mar 30 18:52:39 <Knave>	"Yeah." Callum perches beside her, elbows on his lap, "Pretty."
Mar 30 18:54:43 <LipstickThespian>	Yuki sat straight with her hands in her lap as she glanced around.  "Sorry," she says after a minute.
Mar 30 18:55:18 <Knave>	Callum's brow knit together as he looked at Yuki, "Why?"
Mar 30 18:55:41 <LipstickThespian>	"I'm not good at making conversation," Yuki says with a pained little half laugh.
Mar 30 18:56:20 <Knave>	"That's fine." Callum smiles, "I don't mind just sitting here with you. I like your company."
Mar 30 18:57:29 <LipstickThespian>	"Thank you, Callum-chan," Yuki says in her sing song voice as she settles into sitting on the bench.  Watching the world go by in silence.
Mar 30 18:58:37 <Knave>	Callum sits back, crossing his hands behind his head to lean on. He looks from Yuki to the scene of the campus, and smiles. There are worse places to be.
