  1. MeanMike says:
  2. Hi! If you're reading this, then you must be a brand new member of JFB and as such, are going to require a little guidance and direction. Now, just because you're new to the faction, doesn't mean you're new to the game, but whether youre a new player or just have found a new home after playing a while, there are certain expectations on behavior and etiquette that are tailor-made for THIS faction that you all need to learn and adhere to, and here they are.
  3.
  4. 1- Conduct yourself in a respectful, adult manner, not only in IRC, but in the game. We will start with IRC...
  5. IRC is not just where we war, but its also where we hang out during our down time. Its a great place because we can exchange tips, teach newer players, and share pertinent information about the game and the faction. We tell people IRC use is mandatory to join for a reason, and that reason is because if you're serious about the game, IRCs where you need to be. As such, if you come into our chat channel, you are essentially stepping into our house. Now, ya dont have to take your shoes off before you come in, but you do need to conduct yourself with a little respect and just a touch of humility wouldn't hurt either. I say this because you only get one chance to make a first impression, and if you come swaggering into "our house" with no respect, and acting disruptive, brash, or obnoxious, the natural first response from your teammates is going to be "who does this dbag think he is?" and Presto !! You're off on the wrong foot, just like that. Being in this faction is a great opportunity for you, and its just silly to shoot yourself in the foot right off the bat because you cant be bothered to try to fit in and act like you appreciate the chance to be there. We have a great deal of friends in many of the lotto channels as well, so if you go in there and dont know how to act right, you will not only embarrass the Faction, but will likely find yourself bountied half to death because you offended the wrong person. This is great way to get booted by Rayne, because to be frank, we do not want, need or have the time to deal with people that can't be bothered to try to fit in when they first join up. We wont care what else you bring to the table, you'll just be "The douchey new guy that we want to hurry up and go away".
  6. This applies to in game conduct as well. If you are new to the faction, and you act badly in the game and bring trouble to our doorstep through shoddy behavior, words or action, the odds are good youre not going to around long. We hate drama and if you bring it to us, you will likely live to regret it, because after we kick you, we are probably going to beat you up on the regular for being an ass :-) We are exceptionally cool people in JFB, and we must insist that even if you arent, you at least try to be
  7.
  8. 2- Do NOT be a creeper. Look, we understand online love happens, and well, we just think thats swell. However, our chat channel is not a nightclub, and Torn is not a dating site. There is absolutely nothing in "your JFB contract" that says you have to accost every member of the opposite sex that is unfortunate enough to cross your path. Most of us have been together for a while, so we are protective of each other and the quickest way to earn our scorn and lose our respect is to be hassling people when they log on to play the game they enjoy so much. They are not logging on for you, they are not in this faction for you, and harassment of any of member for any reason simply will not be tolerated. If you're looking to meet a nice guy or girl online, might we suggest PlentyofFish.com? That is not why you were brought into this group, but it could very easily be why you're not here anymore.
  9.
  10. 3- Respect Leadership at all times. Listen, we arent a bunch of self-important jerks that want you to drop at our feet and pay homage to our greatness, quite the opposite in fact, BUT... JFBs leadership works very hard to make this thing a great home for everyone, and even harder to look out for their own members, and as such they will be respected by all members, if for no other reason than they have earned their spots as Officers and make many sacrifices to help keep JFB moving fwd. Plus, all of us are great friends, so if you disrespect one of us, the odds are good you'll have to deal with all of us not liking you very much at all, which is usually a one-way ticket out the door.
  11.
  12. 4- Learn how to take direction, advice, and even criticism from people that know more about the game than you do. This is easily the very best home a strong young player can have, mostly because of all the very smart people that play here. If you come walking in with what we feel are bad stats for your age and level, dont get mad, get determined to make improvements to become better...we have goals here, and if you arent helping us reach them, youre hurting them, so take heed.
  13.
  14. 5- Train hard and properly. As I write this we are in the midst of a common crisis in war , and thats that there isnt enough lowbies to hit in the war base. This is only because peoples stats arent high enough to kill the people we have in our war base. This is the primary reason why proper training and stat jumping are so crucial. The stronger you are, the more help in war you are...this mantra should be in your head every time you think about wasting energy doing anything besides killin during war, or training when we are not at war. We are a progression-based warring faction, if you dont base your game around helping us get to the top, and you waste energy doing silly stuff, we are gonna hate you :-) Listen, learn, and I promise you, you'll get much stronger....quickly
  15.
  16. 5- 12 hits a day min during war time. Anything less constitutes a clear lack of effort on your part and may also get you kicked at the end of the war. We dont have a whole lot to judge you on, but not pulling your weight in a war...well, its everything. Also, war time is the perfect place for a new player to make his mark in the faction and show everyone his work ethic and dedication to helping us achieve our goals, dont squander it, make an impact.
  17.
  18. 6- Donator status must be kept at all times. If you think you are going to contribute fully on 2/3 the energy everyone else is using, youre kidding yourself. Its 5 bucks (RL Money) or 20m (Game Money)...show some commitment
  19.
  20. Thats all for now, please try to follow these guidelines, as we feel the things listed above are not too much to ask. We are glad you're here, and we will all work hard to make you a Star in this game, all you have to do is act right, use a little basic common sense, and work hard Thank you, and WELCOME TO JFB !!
