IRVING - It will be a double-star holiday for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys will unveil their new uniforms on Thanksgiving Day against the Green Bay Packers. Owner Jerry Jones said the uniforms will be used only on special occasions.

Jones displayed a new jersey Monday. He described it as a "double-star" uniform because it has large stars on the shoulders. The jersey includes numbers on the blue sleeves.

Jones said the jerseys will not replace the traditional Cowboys unform. He wants to use them for the playoffs, Monday night games and Thanksgiving Day.

"When I think about the tradition of the Cowboy uniform, Yankee pinstripes come to my mind," Jones said. "We have uniforms that are enjoyed and recognized by many people. The Cowboys have always been out front in terms of introducing new concepts to the NFL."

The Cowboys, who developed the idea for the new uniforms last season, received permission from the NFL on Monday to wear them.
