- - After I got the videos on an external hard drive, David, Anton, Jonathan and I started to cut the different clips.
- - First we watched every take and decided which one is useful and which not, because of too loud noises or because someone laughs or talks in background.
- - After that we thought about good ideas for the cut and for the end card.
- - We decided to make 3 different clips out of the videos.
- - Each of them shows one environmental tip in about 30 seconds.
- - We started cutting the movie in Adobe Premiere and noticed that the background noise is sometimes very annoying. So we had to search for a good audio track for each clip.
- - While cutting our biggest problem was the communication in the whole group, because we wanted to give the other group members the possibility to suggest their own ideas as well.
- - We also had video material for 2 additional clips, but we decided not to use them because we didn’t like the way the story was presented or they would be boring without a voice-over.
- - After we finished we made the end title which is shown behind every single clip.
- - We wanted to make something simple, easy to read, but it should also give the message we wanted to give.
- - In the end we used a black background and white and green font.
- - Our goal was to make the clips short and easy to understand. Also the videos should attract attention.
- - Cutting the clips definitely improved mine and the others cutting skills and has also been a lot of fun.
- - The last step was to export the clips and show it to the other members.
- - If there were any mistakes or discontents we had to improve the video, but it wasn’t the case here.
- - So most of our problems could have been solved by creating a script at the beginning. Then we would have better takes, which are exactly what we wanted to cut.
- - Without the script we have to think a lot about where to set a cut and where to use this or that take.
- - In the end I would say cutting the clips was a great experience, makes fun but can be improved with a little bit more practise and consideration.
