FoE RPG G0 - #018 Nightmare: Hawkeye

[20:06]	Hawkeye starts fully awake, reaching for her rifle. "Hello?" she shouts. "Anypony there?" She looks down the hall at the foreboding mirror. A chill ripples across her coat. Hawkeye narrows her one eye. "This ain't going to end well..." She takes a few tentative steps toward the sinister looking glass...
[20:12]<SpiritOfFate>	The mirror shows the image of a bright red rose, growing on top of a pile of bloody pony skulls. A small pegasus filly seems to approach curiously and a thorny root of the flower silently creeps towards her
[20:15]	Hawkeye draws her rifle! "Get back!" she shouts, taking aim at the base of the growing tendril. She squeezes off a single round. Even if it doesn't destroy the plant, it might still alert the filly.
[20:22]<SpiritOfFate>	Hawkeye feels a sharp pain on her leg, as the bullet perforates it.
[20:26]<SpiritOfFate>	The tendril recedes, also perforated, but the filly just lies by its side. Hawkeye's hollow eye seem to see a small colt where the filly is. Her colt.
[20:27]	Hawkeye cries out and topples forward. "No!" she shouts, regaining her balance and taking a more careful aim at the plant... then hesitates. Hawkeye isn't a clever pony. She just tried to shoot through the mirror, after all. But this is... this is unreal. Hawkeye lowers her rifle and raises her eyepatch. "C-cal?" she says, not daring to speak louder than a whisper.
[20:37]<SpiritOfFate>	The mirror shows Desert Rose's son, lying by the thorny plant. He looks her way and waves.
[20:40]	Hawkeye drops her gun and puts her hooves up on the glass. Her jaw hangs open... no, it can't be. "Cal!" she shouts, "C'mere, hun! Get away from that plant!"
[20:53]<SpiritOfFate>	Hawkeye sees Cal moving closer, and leaning towards the mirror, but his hoof seems to cross the glass and change color as it does.
[20:54]	Hawkeye blinks. Yeah... something about this is all wrong. Hawkeye takes a deep breath, then takes hold of Cal's discolored hoof and pulls him through to her side of the mirror.
[20:59]	Firefly is pulled through the mirror by Hawkeye. "Oooh! This is fun! Can we go through other mirrors, Miss Hawkeye?"
[21:02]	Hawkeye lets go of her held breath. "Firefly," she says. "Ah should have known...." She puts a gentle hoof on the excited filly's head. "Someone is playin' a game with us, half-pint. And it ain't a nice game, neither." She looks through the mirror. "T'ain't fair, usin' ponies' best memories to hurt 'em," she says to no one in particular. "And Ah ain't playin' your game, y'hear?"
[21:06]	Firefly looks around. "Uh...Miss Hawkeye? Um, who would mess with our heads?"
[21:06]<SpiritOfFate>	Hawkeye sees in a fleeting moment through her hollow eye, a room just like the one they are in, where Sotho talks to the living shadow of an alicorn.
[21:09]	Hawkeye leans on the mirror and tries to put a hoof through it, too. "Someone who don't have our best interest in mind," she tells Firefly. "Either it's a ghost or it's a spirit, and it's playin' head games. Ah dunno why, but probably no nice reason."
[21:12]<SpiritOfFate>	Hawkeye touches the flat glass throught where a red rose grows on top of bloody skulls.
[21:13]	Firefly looks over at the mirror. "Liberty Dream, Ties? Is something playing mean games with us?"
[21:15]<Hawkeye>	"Enough!" Hawkeye shouts. "Y'all stay out of my head!" She spins on her forehooves and bucks the mirror as hard as she can.
[21:15]<SpiritOfFate>	A white and a blue bubble of faint glow appear by Firefly's side
[21:16]	Firefly reaches up and touches the bubble. "Come on, you can come out."
[21:17]<SpiritOfFate>	The mirror cracks, and the walls crumble, engulfing the room in darkness. Only the soft glow of the bubble remains Firefly sees Ignis and Wintergreen wandering blindly, and hears the voice of Sotho.
[21:19]<SpiritOfFate>	Hawkeye also hears the voice of Sotho through the darkness
[21:19]	Hawkeye looks around herself in horror and quickly drops to her haunches and scoops up Firefly. "Uh, that weren't supposed to happen," she says. "Sotho!" she calls out. "We're over here! Don't let 'em mess with your head!"
[21:22]	Firefly is scooped up by Hawkeye! "Hawkeye! Liberty and Ties, let's go rescue everyone!"
[21:23]<Hawkeye>	"Ah cain't see where everyone is, half-pint," Hawkeye says. "Ah can hear Sotho, but Ah cain't see nopony. Can y'all see 'em, short stuff?"
[21:24]	Firefly nods. "Yup! Go that way, Wintergreen is over there!" Firefly points over to Wintergreen.
[21:25]	Hawkeye snorts. "Then let's go get 'em, sugarcube." Hawkeye puts Firefly on her back, and begins determinedly trotting toward the direction Firefly had indicated. "C'mon this way, Stripes!" she shouts as she walks. "We're gettin' the hay out of here!"
