  16. Mr. @m1Vr4,
  17.
  18. If you expect to work at Red Hat much longer, you will do just as Ms.
  19. Nesbitt asked. Rudeness and crass language exemplifies an inability
  20. to adequately communicate and disrespect for your fellow employee.

  25.
  26. Mr. Webbink,
  27.
  28. I do not expect to work at Red Hat much longer. Maybe just a bit
  29. longer. Not too much though.
  30.
  31. Advise appreciated, thanks, I'm sure your only intention is to make
  32. sure that I'm happy in my role in order to contribute the most to this
  33. company. Coincidentally, that's exactly my only intention too.
  34.
  35. Jose Antonio
  36.
  37.
  38. P.S. English being my second language though, I am confident enough of
  39. my communication skills to stop trainloads of hypocrisy if needed,
  40. when needed and the way I deem it. Do your homework. Check some
  41. previous posts of mine if you are aiming at firing me. Got no doubt
  42. you got the skills that earn you the money. And I have even less
  43. doubts to appreciate that you are smart enough to know what I might
  44. mean. Hiring smart people is the *best* asset this company has.
  45. Underusing their skills might not. But hey, it's certainly not me who
  46. would dare to share some random management pearls of wisdom here and
  47. there. Who knows, they might be worth it and somebody might take
  48. credit and even profit for them. ;)

  58. On the Mad Search for Beauty at Red Hat. * UNFUCKABLE LINUX *.
  59.
  60.
  61. Ahhhhhhhh... Beauty. Such a mind opener word.
  62.
  63. Hmmmm... let's see... today I have got a Milosz day.
  64.
  65. "The voice of passion is better than the voice of reason. The
  66. passionless cannot change history."
  67.
  68. "It is impossible to communicate to people who have not experienced it
  69. the undefinable menace of total rationalism."
  70.
  71. "Grow your tree of falsehood from a small grain of truth. Do not
  72. follow those who lie in contempt of reality. Let your lie be even more
  73. logical than the truth itself, so the weary travelers may find
  74. repose."
  75.
  76. And my yummmyyummmmy favourite one...
  77.
  78. "The Search of Beauty. The only war that is worth to fight over in
  79. this foul world."
  80.
  81. Beauty. I think I could speak for ages on beauty. I don't believe in
  82. absolute Truth. I think that the concept of an absolute Truth is not
  83. only perverse in its essence but potentially venomous for the human
  84. rationality. Us humans, such an amazing piece of coded information,
  85. able to do anything from the most Evil to the simply Sublime. Someone
  86. must be having a goooood laugh at this big big big joke called
  87. Universe. So hey, let's go along with the greeks and shout out loud:
  88. "Laugh at everything, for nothing does really matter"
  89.
  90. So hey, hell yeah, let's have a laugh. You are some kernel hackers
  91. riding your egos while changing the world one patch a time and I must
  92. be a fucking clown with half a demigod, half a demievil inside not to
  93. ride mine too! Hey, some people would say we'd certainly have some
  94. potential for a good laugh!!! :P
  95.
  96. Authority...ahhh authority... that's another lovely word I'd write so
  97. many verses about... Authority is nothing eXoteric but eSoteric, it
  98. arises from the inner core of your Being when you know that what you
  99. deem to be RIGHT is the RIGHT thing to do. Whoever likes it or not.
  100. Also known as fucking *ETHICS*. The world is ridden by eXoteric
  101. MORALITY. Nobody knows what is right or wrong these days. Such a sad
  102. times we live in.
  103.
  104. Ethics can arise only from the inner *Knowledge of the Self*. Know
  105. Thyself. Temet Nosce. Nosce te ipsum, yeah... even written above Neo
  106. at the Oracle's.. but hey, that was just a fucking stupid movie of
  107. flying muppets... you have to be mad enough to be called Ken Wilber to
  108. get it...
  109.
  110. The Inner Self, where good and bad dilute because Life wasn't a place
  111. conceived to suffer, but just to be in awe at all the Beauty
  112. surrounding us, miracles happening all the time... with only some of
  113. us noticing the joy of a stupid thing like a cloudy landscape in the
  114. twilight hour. Best hour for photographies, incidentally...
  115.
  116. And here we are. In our search for Beauty. What is Beauty. Ahhhh. Such
  117. a good question. Beauty is but *Truth* shinning. We cannot aprehend
  118. absolute Truth... only itself shining. And that's Beauty. The beauty
  119. and elegance of Beauty is that it's just there, for anybody to grasp.
  120. The sharper your Counsciousness, the more Beauty you grasp. The more
  121. you enjoy. The happier you are. The happiest the Universe gets... and
  122. that's the essence of Love too.
  123.
  124. The biggest obstacle to ride in the quest for the Know Thyself is
  125.
  126. FEAR
  127.
  128. It keeps us from getting to the core. From discovering the diamond we
  129. carry inside. Only if we dare to. And that's the point when we become
  130. HYPOCRITES with ourselves. Because we fear ourselves. Because we fear
  131. Truth. HYPOCRISY with ourselves is what will kill us all as humans. If
  132. we let it grow as the cancer it is.
  133.
  134. I have got, essentially, 5 problems.
  135.
  136. 1 - I know myself. As a result, I'm extremely happy with myself. As a
  137. result, I don't depend on anything.
  138. 2 - When I consult my ethics and I know I'm right, I am not afraid of
  139. anything. Anything.
  140. 3 - I don't care about money.
  141. 4 - I'm behaviourally amoral. I don't respect any kind of Authority
  142. that doesn't arise from a True Self but mine.
  143. 5 - I joined RH to do my best to change the world.
  144.
  145. Freedom arises, fundamentally, from:
  146.
  147. - - Being *Conscious* of your Acts.
  148. - - Taking FULL responsibility for them.
  149.
  150. Speak for what you deem *YOUR* Truth. I will speak for *MY* Truth.
  151. Feel free to forward this mail to whomever you deem suitable. I take
  152. FULL responsibility of the consequences.
  153.
  154. One thing you can be sure of: expect some changes at the way things
  155. are done at RH.
  156.
  157. Much gratitude for having a voice and speaking *YOUR* Truth on memo-list.
  158.
  159. The search for Beauty seems to have just started.
  160.

  165.
  166.
  167.
  168. In a reply to some fellow colleagues:
  169.
  170. Something to aspire to XXXXX? It's either THE *ultimate quest* any
  171. human being should aspire to, where all other quests pale in
  172. comparison. Aaaaaah freedom... I usually take pride in spanish being
  173. suchhhh a rich language to enjoy my word-fencing-hypocresy-smashing
  174. skills at ease....
  175.
  176. Ahh, If you think I might have a clue or two about how to mossssst
  177. innocently and not that muchhh poignantly choose my anacoluthons, a
  178. couple of epistrophes here and there, half a pound of puns and three
  179. very sweeet slices of parrhesias in order to kick some phat assessss,
  180. then you should learn some spanish if only to appreciate a good laugh
  181. being the spectator of me delivering loads of love with some smoooth
  182. spanish morphemessss.
  183.
  184. This being one of those rare occasions where english language still
  185. keeps on amazing me in awe day after day. While there is just one word
  186. to express it in spanish: * LIBERTAD *, in english there are no less
  187. than two to sharply precise the meaning:
  188.
  189. Freedom. And Liberty.
  190.
  191. It's the quest for LIBERTY, as the ability to do whatever you deem the
  192. RIGHT thing to DO with your WILL, the one that is in jeopardy here, if
  193. we give it just the slightest chance to strive.
  194.
  195. Once treasured, nobody and nothing will be able to take it away from
  196. you. For fuck sake, make yourself a favour entertaining yourself a wee
  197. bit and stop absorbing so much mallocs for a while! :P Take a look at
  198. The Shawshank Redemption. Andy Dufressne is FREE inside that prison.
  199. That's the key to it all! That's the ONLY thing I'm after behind all
  200. this.
  201.
  202. Just the right to say "fuck" in a mailing list!??????? Fuckingg
  203. hellll, you should know me better than that! Sixth sense tells me
  204. that, eventually, you will anyway. Ohsooooyes.
  205.
  206. Do you know what's the single ONE and only KEY that opens ALL the
  207. Liberty gates? Yeah, you almost guessed it:
  208.
  209. LOVE
  210.
  211. - - To Be Conscious you need to LOVE, first and above all, what you ARE.
  212. - - To take FULL responsibility of all of your actions you have to LOVE
  213. what you DO.
  214.
  215. The absolute ultimate KEY to it all?
  216.
  217. Be and Do.
  218.
  219. Yes, it's brilliant. Yes, it's simple. Yes, it works. Yes, I know.
  220.
  221. Here I am aiming for a company where Liberty flows up and down the
  222. food chain at ease and where COMMUNICATION flows at LIBERTY at any
  223. level. Communication is the key element in complex systems. It's about
  224. just everything: biological systems, sociological systems, econominal
  225. systems, computing systems... That's why WE are so lucky to have been
  226. given the chance to live in this time and do something about the way
  227. things work. Such a privilege we have here!
  228.
  229. In case you didn't get the game, Helen was extremely pissed off at me
  230. being soooo poignant on a previous mail on January 22nd on uk-list,
  231. about the rooms naming scheme in the new office at Farnborough. Bahhh,
  232. something sooo intrahistorical as that. That mail made her feel like
  233. scratching so hardddd places she didn't even knew she might have! She
  234. was waiting for the occasion of me doing something silly to have her
  235. petty revenge. That's why, after she found she had run out of
  236. keepthedishwashingmachinecleanbitching, she saw the opportunity to go
  237. for me at that damn "First FUCKING smart move I've seen on this
  238. company since I joined." at my joy for the RHN liberation.
  239.
  240. You'll loooooove to know that I have been given a written warning by
  241. saying that on a public list. Hey, stoppp it, I haven't told you to
  242. start to laugh! Yet. Hold it a bit longer if you can.
  243.
  244. The *REAL* issue here is the reply that you had from no other than Mr.
  245. Iain Gray himself, basically telling you to shut the FUCK up and if
  246. anybody thought that was censorship, to give him a call. How does he
  247. dare, to do that with the fucking amountsss of extremely brilliant
  248. people around in a place where LIBERTY *IS* at the core of the ideals
  249. behind the spoon that is feeding him???
  250.
  251. Do you know who this guy is??? I *DO* know, I've had the pleasure of
  252. endulging in some meetings with him. On him, I perceive ZERO inner
  253. authority to command the team he is leading, GSS. Watch ANY of his
  254. emails. Such a LACK of any content at all. I am MORE than willing and
  255. ooooohsoyes able to prove all this with FACTS. Do you know what does
  256. someone who has got ZERO inner authority to do when he feels his
  257. integrity and well being are being threatened? You guessed it: he
  258. tries to use his external authority. Though when those kind of people
  259. meet people like me, for some reason, they tend to fail miserably. I
  260. loveeee playing the drunkard, the fool, the stupid or the child: those
  261. are the only ones who dare to bluntly shut out the *Truth* at anybody.
  262. I laugh so hard at that kind of authority that equals hipocrisy. It's
  263. the cancer of our days! Just listen to the next hourly world news
  264. service! But hey, I wouldn't pass a good chance to deliver some
  265. hyperbatons with loadssssss of love for the sake of a good laugh,
  266. offfff course!
  267.
  268. Do you know who has got all the eyes put on him because of this damn
  269. quixoticschizoclown attitude of mine that hasn't got any tolerance for
  270. the least amount of hypocrisy? My manager, Xavier Oleron, GSS EMEA
  271. Director. He *DOES* know what kind of person I am. He *DOES* know
  272. where my skills are. He *DOES* appreciate me because he realized so
  273. quickly the way I was during my interview to be hired. That's why he
  274. called my recruiter just 5 minutes after I left the office to tell him
  275. not to let me escape at any cost. Heh. He *DOES* know that it wouldn't
  276. be fair that they gave him the kick for something that is NOT his
  277. fault but someone else above at the way things are done at GSS, so his
  278. only choice now is to blame it all on me. And I so sincerely
  279. understand his weak position now that I feel pity for him. They *DO*
  280. know that they cannot kick me out because the snowball is now bigger
  281. than they ever expected it to get.
  282.
  283. XXXXX, oh XXXXX, XXXXX... Here I'm not fighting for the right to say
  284. fuck in a mailing list. That's just too naïve mate.
  285.
  286. * I am willing to fight my ass off at giving persons like Larry Ellison *
  287. * the big FUCK OFF FINGER and to show the world that we are a company *

  320.
  321. All software is written with source code. With open source software, the code is protected by a special license that ensures everyone has access to that code. That means no one company can fully own it. FREEDOM MEANS CHOICE. CHOICE MEANS POWER.

  339. Despite ignorance, despite ridicule, despite opposition, truth happens.

  341.
  342. We are what we believe in. Open source ideals. Red Hat may be small compared to the company we keep--and the company we challenge--
  343. *BUT DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF PEOPLE WITH A CAUSE WORTH BEING PASSIONATE ABOUT.*

  347.
  348.
  349. People join Red Hat for a lot of reasons. For some it's our technology expertise and the chance to work among the best Linux and open source developers. For some it's the reach of the Red Hat brand. For others it's our growing market opportunity. Many people see the unrivaled potential for personal growth that comes in a company so dedicated to its people.
  350.
  351. *AND SOME JUST WANT TO CHANGE THE WORLD.*
  352.
  353. Rock the boat. *SHAKE THE FOUNDATIONS.* Let the best idea win.

  360. *COURAGE, FREEDOM, COMMITMENT, ACCOUNTABILITY.*
  361.
  362. We have the COURAGE to challenge traditional ideas when we think we have a better one, and * we have the FREEDOM TO ACT ON OUR CONVICTIONS *. With this freedom we must always * have the commitment to follow through with our GOALS.* And we are accountable in everything we do to our customers, shareholders, partners, and the open source community.
  363.
  364. COLLABORATION is how we can do all those things we do so well. Working with a worldwide community of developers means we can create better technology, faster.
  365.
  366. We can deliver the BEST VALUE IN OUR SOLUTIONS, SERVICES AND SUPPORT.
  367.
  368. *And TRUTH is what unites us all.* Open source principles are redefining how the world works, plays, communicates. * Inevitably, when you do the right thing, truth happens. *
  369.
  370.
  371. WE BELIEVE IN OUR PEOPLE.
  372.
  373. AND WE WANT THEM TO GROW WITH US.
  374.

TURNING IT INTO REALITY IS JUST ANOTHER DAY AT RED HAT IN THE EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES GROUP. * WE CALL IT A RISK-POSITIVE CULTURE. BELIEVING IN OUR ASSOCIATES AND GIVING THEM EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE GOOD THINGS HAPPEN. WE WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY.*
  377.

  385. * WE'RE NOT SHY ABOUT SAYING WHAT WE THINK. AND WE STAND UP FOR IT.
  386. * WE'LL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. BECAUSE WHAT'S BEST FOR THE CUSTOMER IS WHAT'S BEST, *AND CHAIN OF COMMAND COMES SECOND.*
  387. * WE RESOLVE OUR ISSUES OUT IN THE OPEN. * INTERNAL MAILING LISTS, COMPANY IRC-CHANNELS, BLOGS, AND THEAM MEETINGS.

  462. The virtues of mercy, non-violence, love and truth in any man can be
  463. truly tested only when they are pitted against ruthlessness, violence,
  464. hate and untruth.
  465.
  466. In non-violence, the masses have a weapon which enables a child, a woman
  467. or even a decpit old man to resist the mightiest of Government SUCCESSFULLY.
  468. IF YOUR SPIRIT IS STRONG, MERE LACK OF PHYSICAL STRENGTH CEASES TO BE A
  469. HANDICAP.
  470.
  471. To me it is a self-evident truth that if freedom is to be shared equally
  472. by all--even physically the weakest, the lame and the halt--they must be
  473. able to contribute an equal share in its defense. How can that be possible
  474. when reliance is placed on armaments, my plebian mind fails to understand.
  475. I therefore sear and shall continue to swear by non-violence, i.e., by
  476. *satyagraha*, or soul force. In it PHYSICAL INCAPACITY IS NO HANDICAP,
  477. AND EVEN A FRAIL WOMAN OR A CHILD CAN PIT HERSELF OR HIMSELF ON EQUAL
  478. TERMS AGAINST A GIANT ARMED WITH THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPONS.
  479.
  480. The first principle of non-violence is the non-compliance with everything that is humiliating.
  481.
  482. A COWARD IS LESS THAN A MAN.
  483.
  484. The coward desires revenge but being afraid to die, he looks to others,
  485. maybe to the government of the day, to do the work of defense for him.
  486. He does not deserve to be a member of a society of men and women.
  487.
  488. Cowardice is wholly inconsistent with non-violence,
  489. Non-violence presuposes THE ABILITY TO STRIKE.
  490.
  491. A 'No' uttered from deepest conviction is better and greater than
  492. A 'Yes' merely uttered to please, or what is worse, to avoid trouble.
  493.
  494. If the people are not ready for the exercise of the non-violence of
  495. the brave, they must be ready for the use of force in self-defense.
  496. THERE SHOULD BE NO CAMOUFLAGE. IT MUST NEVER BE SECRET.
  497.
  498. Non-violent resistors will calmly die wherever they are
  499. but they will not bend the knee before the aggressor.
  500.
  501. He who cannot protect himself or his nearest and dearest or their honour
  502. by non-violently facing death, may and ought to do so by violently
  503. dealing with the oppressor. He who can do neither of the two is a burden.
  504.
  505. Man for man the strength of non-violence is in exact proportion to the ability, not the will, of the
  506.
  507. non-violent person to inflict violence.
  508.
  509. While you will keep yourself aloof from all violence, you will not
  510. shirk danger. You will rush forth if there is an outbreak of an
  511. epidemic or a fire to be combated and distinguish yourself by your
  512. surpassing courage and non-violent heroism.
  513.
  514. Those who die unresistingly are likely to still the fury of violence
  515. by their wholly innocent sacrifice.
  516.
  517. The truly non-violent action is not possible unless it springs from
  518. a heart of belief that he whom you fear and regard as a robber...
  519. and you are one, and that therefore it is better that you should die
  520. at his hands than that he, your ignorant brother, should die at yours.
  521.
  522. There is no half way between truth and non-violence on the one hand and
  523. untruth and violence on the other. We may never be strong enough to be
  524. entirely non-violent in thought, word and deed. But we must keep
  525. non-violence as our goal and make steady progress towards it.
  526. The attainment of FREEDOM, WHETHER FOR A MAN, A NATION OR THE WORLD,
  527. MUST BE IN EXACT PROPORTION TO THE ATTAINMENT OF NON-VIOLENCE BY EACH.
  528.

  531.
  532.
  533.
  534. The ULTIMATE MEASURE of a man is not where he stands in moments of
  535. comfort and convenience, but WHERE he stands at TIMES OF CHALLENGE and
  536. CONTROVERSY. THE TRUE NEIGHBOUR WILL RISK HIS POSITION, HIS PRESTIGE,
  537. AND EVEN HIS LIFE FOR THE WELFARE OF OTHERS. IN DANGEROUS VALLEYS AND
  538. HAZARDOUS PATHWAYS, HE WILL LIFT SOME BRUISED AND BEATEN BROTHER TO A
  539. *HIGHER AND MORE NOBLE LIFE*.

  548. DESPITEFULLY USE YOU, AND PERSECUTE YOU.

  563. Maybe even prove you are SMART enough to know the BEST for this company. I got the intuition you ARE.
