  5. 1. It is a ridge of some sort. For example, the Rocky Mountains have a ridge where the water flow is seperated. The water is then drained into the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean. The water is drained either through rivers or lakes.

  7. 2. Since the 1820s, the amount of people immigrating to the US has gone up dramatically, but this could be due to the increase in population.

  10. Geography is the study of the land forms on the surface of the Earth.
  11. The Five Themes of Geography
  12. Movement: Explores where diffreent resources are located, the people that use them, and how they are transported to locations all over the earth's surface. The theme of movement helps us understand how we connect with, and depend on, other regions, cultures, and people in the world.

  17. Region: Scientists divide the Earth's land into sections, called Regions, based on

  26. Location: The theme of location answers the question: "Where is it?". It describes where a place is on earth. There are two kinds of locations: Absolute and Relative. Absolute is the exact location, while relative is the location compared to other places.

  29. Place: "What is it like there?" A place is often known by its own special characteristics. There are two types of characteristics for a place, including human and physical. Physical characteristics are like mountains, plains, oceans, rivers, lakes, climate, animals, and plant life.
