  1. Talent Show RP log
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. Zar'Thrae Aleanrae wanders in through the door, looking about curiously
  6.
  7. Van Renard is toying around with some brightly-colored bauble thing in a nervous fidget, and perks up. "Ah, hey there!"
  8.
  9. Zar'Thrae Aleanrae | A crash and a rargle can be heard from within, followed by... agitated halfling noises.
  10.
  11. [Say]Zar'Thrae Aleanrae:... Greetings.
  12.
  13. [Say] Van Renard: "Here to watch or perform?"
  14.
  15. [Say] Zar'Thrae Aleanrae: Just watching, I'm afraid. My talents tend to be a little destructive.
  16.
  17. Van Renard nods. "Alright, take a seat anywhere then! The -" Van looks around, the item in their hands losing some of its shape and color. "Right, there's no reserved seating or anything!"
  18.
  19. Clover walks in carrying a guitar case over her back that's way too big for the hin. "H-Hello... Uhm. Is this the right place?"
  20.
  21. Van Renard continues nervously fidgeting with the morphing item which has now melted into a colorless orb. "Hey Clover! Yes!"
  22.
  23. Clover nods, and hefts the case over her shoulder to set it down some place. "Right yes, very good." She swallows nervously.
  24.
  25. Van Renard | The sounds of orchestral instruments tuning up can be heard somewhere in the band pit.
  26.
  27. [Say] Clover: "I seem to have arrived early."
  28. Clover coughs.
  29.
  30. Zar'Thrae Aleanrae | Drakey flits by Clover's feet, scurrying around for... some reason.
  31.
  32. [Say] Clover: "... Oh! Hello, little Drakey. How are you?"
  33.
  34. Zar'Thrae Aleanrae | "Rargle!" and he scampers off, apparently interested in... something around here.
  35.
  36. Van Renard | A scattering of locals were around in the audience. A few not-so-subtly with eyes out for nonexistent free buffet spreads.
  37.
  38. [Say] Van Renard: "Well... hm... I have a few other possible signups for performers but it's... uh..."
  39.
  40. [Say] Clover: "Oh right! Who will be performing?"
  41.
  42. [Say] Van Renard: "You, and... A new talent I've - I mean I haven't met before - um, I got some 'maybe's on the wind from a few others..." Van pulls out some papers from their jacket to review. "Oh, right, and there's a- I booked the theatre band too if anyone needs more musical accompaniment. Totally optional though, but I figured people might appreciate it!" Van is unusually animated, but not, seemingly, from excitement. More like a manic boiling-over of anxiety.
  43.
  44. Clover 's face pales. "You mean to say that there is only myself and one other person confirmed?"
  45.
  46. [Say] Van Renard: "It - Well. I-it might end up being a - a pretty short exhibition overall, heh!"
  47.
  48. [Say] Clover: "That is a lot of pressure... They are not expecting a professional performance, are they?"
  49.
  50. [Say] Van Renard: "Oh no - They shouldn't be at least? I - prepared a couple of short dances to help fill time, though I thought there'd... be..."
  51.
  52. Clover nods. "Right. Right! Good, yes. Very good."
  53.
  54. [Say] Van Renard: "Well, maybe some late-comers - Hells, if anyone outta the audience wants to hop on stage I'm all for it at this point!"
  55.
  56. [Say] Clover: "Do you know about this thing, where you tell yourself a lie in order to try to convince yourself of something?"
  57.
  58. Van Renard gives a throaty nervous laugh a little too long to that question.
  59.
  60. [Say] Lavi Strikel: Wait wait waaaiiit! I have a song sorry I just needed to make sure we had the accompanyments before I could do it an' please tell me it isn't too late!
  61.
  62. [Say] Van Renard: "Yes! I mean no it's not!"
  63.
  64. [Say] Clover: "Well I have been telling myself I am not nervous about performing. The problem is that I am not a very good liar, even to myself... Oh! Hello, miss Lavi.
  65.
  66. [Say] Van Renard: "If it helps, stage fright's normal. And, uh, at least this time we won't be attacked by korreds for it!"
  67.
  68. [Say] Lavi Strikel: So like... I saw some stuff when I went travellin' a while back, an' in part of that I learned this neat song! It's not like anythin' I'd heard before
  69.
  70. [Say] Clover: "... The korreds. I had forgotten about that.
  71.
  72. [Say] Van Renard: "Always a silver lining! Not being kidnapped by angry fey. Eheh."
  73.
  74. Clover looks to Lavi. "I will look forward to it!"
  75.
  76. Lavi Strikel flails. "Can I sing it?!"
  77.
  78. [Say] Van Renard: "Of course!"
  79.
  80. [Say] Lavi Strikel: Yay!
  81.
  82. Clover || Chibbers is perched atop Clover's shoulder wearing a tiny top hat and bow tie. The top hat has nibble damage.
  83.
  84. [Say] Van Renard: "Alright, so - I had this whole itinerary planned out based on who - Well - Anyway, which one of you wants to go first? Or would you rather I went up first?"
  85.
  86. [Say] Clover: "I-- would rather not go first."
  87.
  88. [Say] Lavi Strikel: I can do it! I've practiced a little bit and I've heard it sung professionally!
  89.
  90. [Say] Van Renard: "Alright!"
  91.
  92. [Say] Lavi Strikel: When I was travelin' it was supposed to be a song that, when sung by the right person, was supposed to be of Great Power. But like, that ain't me, so it's just a song.
  93.
  94. [Say] Van Renard: "Now I'm super curious."
  95.
  96. [Say] Lavi Strikel: Well you'll hear it in a lil bit!
  97. [Say] Lavi Strikel: But it's like nothing you've ever heard before!
  98. Lavi Strikel | "Rargle rargle!" Drakey declares, nodding in agreement
  99.
  100. Van Renard smiles, still nervous but also a little excited now. Nervouscited. "Well - I - well, it's half an hour past so I guess we better..."
  101.
  102. Lavi Strikel makes an excited hin noises, and scampers in
  103.
  104. Van Renard throat-clears. "You want to go after her or a bit later?"
  105.
  106. [Say] Clover: "Mm, right! Uhm... Where is the stage?"
  107. [Say] Clover: "... Oh, right. The obvious, big, elevated platform.
  108.
  109. Lavi Strikel scampers up and just climbs up the front of the stage, instead of using the stair
  110.
  111. Van Renard | The lightly-populated theatre quiets down as people arrive on stage! The orchestra hidden below has gone quiet, prepared to begin as well.
  112.
  113. Sean grave starts to creep in as he observes his prey
  114.
  115. Lavi Strikel has, at some point, distributed music to all of the relevant players in the orchestra
  116.
  117. Van Renard walks onto the stage, takes a deep breath and beams a broad smile. "Welcome everyone to the first Tymor Street Talent Show! I'm Van Renard, here to host and entertain! Our first talent tonight is Miss Lavi, to sing us a song learned from lands afar!"
  118.
  119. Clover is waiting just off stage with a bulky guitar case, doing some breathing exercises
  120.
  121. Sean grave creeps up to clover with a wickedly warped wide grin, -hello miss!
  122.
  123. Van Renard gives a little flourishing gesture before backing off-stage, ending in a little thumbs-up as Van throws a boost of bardic inspiration at the Hin.
  124. [Say] Van Renard: "Hey Sean - Glad you could make it too."
  125.
  126. Sean grave /auxilis basket would detatch from sean and crawl into the audience spot, auxili happily watching as she nibbles on berries
  127.
  128. Clover gives a quiet wave to Sean.
  129.
  130. [Say] Sean grave: this seemed fun!
  131.
  132. Lavi Strikel nods, and looks down at the orchestra. They start playing a... strangely ominous theme, heavily reliant on the strings. From the expression on Lavi's face, it's what she wanted, though.
  133.
  134. Van Renard turns focus toward Lavi's performance, intrigued.
  135.
  136. Clover watches in fascination at the turn this is taking.
  137.
  138. (( https: //youtu.be/5LmXe6cNwOE ))
  139.
  140. Lavi Strikel | After several ominous bars, the music slows to a crawl... and Lavi takes a deep breath before singing in a genuinely, well, shouty tone.
  141. [Say] Lavi Strikel: ONLY WANT ONE FUTURE, ONLY WANT ONE WORLD, ONLY NEED ONE ANSWER, COULD THIS BE IT
  142. [Say] Lavi Strikel: THROW AWAY, EVERYTHING TO BRING THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE... SACRIFICE ANOTHER SELF
  143.
  144. Clover 's eyes widen in surprise.
  145.
  146. Lavi Strikel | The band picks up the beat, and Lavi even pulls a little flute out of nowhere and contributes a few bars. Drakey is even on a horn of some sort, occasionally blowing a 'toot'.
  147.
  148. Van Renard 's brows loft.
  149.
  150. [Say] Lavi Strikel: THROW IT AWAY, THROW IT AWAY, THROW IT ALL AWAAAAAY
  151. [Say] Lavi Strikel: THROW IT AWAY, THROW IT AWAY, THROW IT ALL AWAAAAAY
  152. Lavi Strikel | The band picks it up further, and Lavi does a dance move that, in another time and place, might be called a 'headbang
  153.
  154. Van Renard | Whatever the audience expected the adorable Hin and her adorable pseudodragon to sing, it probably wasn't that
  155.
  156. Sean grave /auxili sqeaks and mimics the "headbang"
  157.
  158. Lavi Strikel | The music slows to a pause, and it seems to hang heavy in the air for a moment... before it explodes outward in a torrent of notes once more
  159. [Say] Lavi Strikel: ONLY WANT ONE FUTURE, ONLY WANT ONE WORLD, ONLY NEED ONE ANSWER, RETURN TO LIFE
  160. Lavi Strikel | And it ends, as abruptly as it started. There's a pause, before Lavi then just positively -beams- out at the audience.
  161.
  162. Sean grave /auxili would excitedly clap and cheer!
  163.
  164. Van Renard applauds.
  165.
  166. Van Renard | The audience waits a second to see if there's more music after the sudden end, before breaking into applause
  167.
  168. Clover claps as well! The bewilderment on her face betrays how confused she is, but she claps all the same.
  169.
  170. Sean grave /auxili would headbang some more and roar!
  171. Sean grave claps too and cheers
  172.
  173. [Say] Lavi Strikel: This was a song I learned in my travels. It's - it's not the whole song, there's a second verse, but I don't know it. When the right person sang it, it magicked a great evil away, and this was to honor what they did. We all are able to be here because of them.
  174.
  175. Van Renard looks to Sean and Clover, asking quietly, "Either of you wanna go next, or should I?"
  176.
  177. Lavi Strikel claps along with the applause.
  178.
  179. [Say] Clover: "... O-Oh, uhm... Whichever is more convenient. I am ready to go on when it is my turn."
  180.
  181. [Say] Sean grave: same
  182. [Say] Sean grave: my hatchlings are waiting and ready
  183.
  184. [Say] Van Renard: "... I'll go ahead and go next. I have, uh, two acts since I thought - Anyway, need somethin' to bridge between the energy levels. That was pretty intense."
  185.
  186. [Say] Lavi Strikel: I know right?!
  187. Lavi Strikel beams
  188.
  189. Clover nods. "Okay!"
  190.
  191. [Say] Van Renard: "Then Clover - then Sean - and any later-comers, and then... uh, I'll do my second dance I suppose!"
  192.
  193. [Say] Sean grave: sounds good
  194.
  195. Van Renard nods and darts backstage to quickchange.
  196.
  197. [Say] Clover: "Where did you hear that, miss Lavi?"
  198.
  199. [Say] Sean grave: welcome back!
  200. [Say] Sean grave: good show
  201.
  202. [Say] Lavi Strikel: ... When I was travelin', I got involved in some, uh, stuff. When I said that song sealed away a great evil, it... it didn't happen all that long ago, actually.
  203.
  204. [Say] Sean grave: facinating, so it is some manner of binding ritual?
  205. [Say] Sean grave: how many sacrifices where there for its completion?
  206.
  207. Van Renard takes a deep breath and announces with spread arms, "Tonight, I shall be dancing ballet, first one and then the other solo variations of leads from a play about a pair of star-crossed lovers!"
  208. Van Renard is regal and poised in a slimming black tights and a bolero jacket with silvery hand-embroidered filigree. Their hair is pulled back into the a braid the length of their spine.
  209.
  210. Lavi Strikel looks at Sean. "Trout," she non-answers, then looks back to Van.
  211.
  212. (( https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_DP-fxwr7I ))
  213.
  214. Van Renard To a jaunty beat backed by horns and gliding strings section, Van propels themself across the stage as effortlessly as hopping puddles, with springing leaps nearly their entire height into the air.
  215. Van Renard intersperses full-splits and corksprew spins at the summit of each jump with brazen flirtatious poses at each half-second standstill, chin high, a hand on their smugly cocked hip.
  216. Van Renard The midpoint of the dance is a series of pirouettes, spinning set after set, before falling gracefully to one knee, one arm outstretched as if kneeling to offer flowers to a lady.
  217.
  218. Clover makes a quiet "Ooooh..." sound as she observes the dance.
  219.
  220. Sean grave /auxili would wobble excited and try to mimic the movements as she follows it along
  221.
  222. Lavi Strikel hops in place in excitement over the performance, but somehow makes no noise in doing so
  223.
  224. Van Renard holds that final pose a few long moments, before standing and bowing, breathing heavily.
  225.
  226. [Say] Clover: "Van was moving around like... like a crane! But like a more graceful crane that has arms instead of wings!"
  227.
  228. Sean grave /auxili would cheer and applaud
  229.
  230. [Say] Lavi Strikel: I don't know what a crane is but it was really neat movements!
  231.
  232. Van Renard breaks into a fangy relieved smile once applause starts off. They step up to call out, "Thank you! And! Up next now is Miss Clover to sing us a song! Guest appearance by her companion Sir Chibbers!"
  233.
  234. Van Renard shoots Clover a thumbsup. "You got this!" boom, bardic inspiration for her too.
  235.
  236. Clover takes a deep breath, then lets it out, and climbs up the stairs with her guitar case.
  237. Clover gives an awkward wave to the audience on arriving atop the stage. She freezes up for a moment, then quickly diverts her gaze down to her immediate business. She removes the guitar from its case, kneels down next to it, and hums quietly while adjusting the peg of the lowest string on the guitar. She tunes it until it matches the tone of her voice, with complete disregard for the rules of tuning or even any of the other strings. Then, she sets it flat on the floor, and sets her squirrel companion on top of it like a little platform.
  238.
  239. Sean grave /auxili waves back
  240.
  241. Van Renard whispers, "A crane's a type of bird," to Lavi, before turning attention toward Clover... with growing confusion at what she's doing with the guitar.
  242.
  243. Lavi Strikel headtilts. "I dunno anythin' about guitars, but that's not normally how they work, right?"
  244. Lavi Strikel is whispering
  245.
  246. Clover || Chibbers crawls over to that one lowest string that Clover had tuned, and the squirrel actually begins to strum it in a bass beat. "Bum... Ba-dum, bum... Ba-dum bum... Ba-dum bum..."
  247. Clover 's voice then comes in, as she looks out over the crowd, and sings.
  248.
  249. (( https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=mr1CM_yw68c ))
  250.
  251. [Say] Clover: "Of all the trees that grow so fair, the Dalelands to adorn, Greater are none beneath the sun than Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  252. Clover || As she sings, she weaves an incantation of druidcraft, and an image of three old-growth trees appears on the stage.
  253.
  254. Lavi Strikel 's grin just goes wiiiiide
  255.
  256. [Say] Clover: "Sing Oak, and Ash, and Thorn, good sirs, all on a midsummer's morn. Surely we'll sing of no little thing, in Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  257. Clover || "Buh-dum bum... buh-dum bum... buh-dum bum..."
  258.
  259. Van Renard is soon swaying in place and toe-tapping in time to the music.
  260.
  261. [Say] Clover: "Yew that is old, in churchyard mould, he breedeth a mighty bow. Alder for shoes do wise men choose, and Beech for cups also.
  262.
  263. [Say] Clover: "But when you have killed and your bowl it is filled, and your shoes are clean outworn, back you must speed for all that you need to Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  264. Clover manages to find her confidence a bit more, and her voice picks up this time at the chorus.
  265. [Say] Clover: "Sing Oak, and Ash, and Thorn, good sirs, all on a midsummer's morn. Surely we'll sing of no little thing, in Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  266. [Say] Clover: "Sing Oak, and Ash, and Thorn, good sirs, all on a midsummer's morn. Surely we'll sing of no little thing, in Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  267.
  268. Sean grave /auxili humms along and chimes
  269.
  270. [Say] Clover: "Elm, she hates mankind and waits, 'til every gust be laid, to drop a limb on the head of him that anyway trusts her shade."
  271. [Say] Clover: "But whether a lad be sober or sad, or mellow with ale from the horn, he'll take no wrong when he lyeth along 'neath Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  272. [Say] Clover: "Sing Oak, and Ash, and Thorn, good sirs, all on a midsummer's morn. Surely we'll sing of no little thing, in Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  273. Clover makes her way to the final verse.
  274. [Say] Clover: "Oh bring your daughters, oh call your sons, oh call your kith and kin, for we've been out in the woods all night, a-conjuring summer in."
  275. [Say] Clover: "We bring you good news by word of mouth, good news for cattle and corn. Sure as the sun come up from the south, by Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  276. [Say] Clover: "Sing Oak, and Ash, and Thorn, good sirs, all on a midsummer's morn. Surely we'll sing of no little thing, in Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  277. Clover sings out the chorus one last time: "Sing Oak, and Ash, and Thorn, good sirs, all on a midsummer's morn. Surely we'll sing of no little thing, in Oak, and Ash, and Thorn."
  278. Clover || The squirrel strums out a few more bass beats, then the song comes to a close.
  279.
  280. Van Renard , and the audience, applauds
  281.
  282. Sean grave /auxili bounces and cheers, clapping
  283.
  284. Clover quickly gathers her guitar and scampers off stage.
  285.
  286. [Say] Van Renard: "That was great, Clover!"
  287.
  288. Sean grave claps as he giggles manically
  289.
  290. [Say] Clover: "Was it? I can't feel my fingers and my stomach feels queezy but I will take your word for it."
  291.
  292. Onaryn Drith'ranndi claps with as much joy as he can muster.....which is not much but he tried. Not everyone has Sean's endless cheer.
  293.
  294. [Say] Van Renard: "Don't worry, that's normal."
  295.
  296. Lavi Strikel *barely* restrains herself from hug-tackling Clover, and instead just opts to normally hug if Clover allows it. "That was amaaaazing!"
  297.
  298. [Say] Van Renard: "Okay, Sean, ... what -is- your act?"
  299.
  300. Clover is grateful for the hug. Lavi can tell she is trembling like a leaf, but this settles her down some.
  301.
  302. [Say] Sean grave: I will be doing a barber quartet song and dance!
  303. Sean grave twirls his hat and makes an elegant bow
  304.
  305. [Say] Van Renard: "Because that sounds so simple and up-front I'm convinced it's not gonna be what I think at all, but alrighty."
  306. Van Renard goes up to announce.
  307.
  308. [Say] Sean grave: yay!
  309. Sean grave giggles, his hat would do a sudden squelshing pulsation, eagerly waiting for its time
  310.
  311. Van Renard grandly gestures while booming out, "Up next is Mister Sean, with a barber quartet song and dance!" before gliding off backstage to change again.
  312.
  313. Onaryn Drith'ranndi boos premptatively now that he knows Sean will take the stage.
  314.
  315. Clover leans closer to Lavi. "I thought barbers cut hair. Do they also sing?"
  316.
  317. Sean grave creeps on stage, prancing and bouncing on light feet as his bells chime
  318.
  319. [Say] Lavi Strikel: I have no idea. And isn't a quartet four people - oh no.
  320.
  321. Clover 's unkempt rough mop indicates she probably doesn't know much about barbers.
  322.
  323. [Say] Sean grave: hello one and all, of unity and unison, soon we will all be one
  324. Sean grave giggles manically as he waves to his victims, unraveling his wickedly warped grin that would give a beholder pause
  325. Sean grave lifts his hat off, its maw would open and unhinge, clawing and crawling out of it would be limbs.
  326.
  327. Lavi Strikel | In the audience, Zar'thrae considers killing it with fire.
  328.
  329. Van Renard peeks out from somewhere unseen to see whatever Sean is about to do, warily.
  330.
  331. Sean grave /twisting masses of arms and legs, torsos of pulsating flesh, they would start to arrange themselfes in vaugly humanoid arrangments, then start to humm with uncountable numbers of mouths
  332. [Say] Sean grave: We are seperate, but in its core of design, syncronicity can be made, aligned to serve the program. we can all join the swarm!
  333.
  334. Van Renard | The audience squirms uncomfortably and leans back in their seats, with a few odd ducks leaning forward curiously instead.
  335.
  336. Sean grave waves with his arms as he conjures up forces unknown or best left as such, tendril threads from his fingertips to meld and latch onto his minions like pupeteer strings
  337.
  338. Clover looks mortified.
  339.
  340. Sean grave starts to humm a tone, auxili blends in and chirps a soft melody, and the bundles of twitching limbs would start to sing
  341.
  342. Onaryn Drith'ranndi has some appropriate spells involving flames for the occasion but out of courtsey to the others he refrains for now "So, this is what the demons will sing when they invade our world...."
  343.
  344. Lavi Strikel frowns. "... should we, uh, do somethin'?" she whispers.
  345.
  346. Sean grave /they start as a dissjointed mumbled singing, uncordinated and jumbled, then eatch discord starts to fall into alignment and they speak words without language all as one unified cohersion
  347.
  348. Clover whispers back, "Only if they hurt someone. While I hate abominations like this, it is... not technically illegal. Yet."
  349.
  350. Sean grave sean pulls out a cane and starts to dance! the twisting nightmares starts to take after him and does the same, as they do a gradualy more cheerful horrid melody, contagious, infesting, one that see
  351. Sean grave /seems to reflect together in all, as if all movements, the breathing and movements of the room, all match with the rhythm
  352. Sean grave /their clawed psuedopods, gnaled fingernails and twisted feet would start to tap the floor, now doing a bissare tap dance
  353.
  354. Onaryn Drith'ranndi watches the display grimly as one studying the enemies formations before war though his face likely contains some of the collective horror shared by other members of the audience.
  355.
  356. Sean grave /they move as one, being impossible to tell appart from eatch indevidual horror, if there even is one, their size and form would be impossible to tell as they may tower above the crowd and touch the roof, or barely being a feet high
  357.
  358. Van Renard watches with complete uncertainty what emotion to be experiencing at this.
  359.
  360. Sean grave eventualy stops moving, fading the tune out, as their noises becomes the frightened silence of the crowd itself, the creatures are gone as if they never where there, or they have merged with reality itself, sean makes a simple bow and swirls his hat
  361. [Say] Sean grave: Thats it folks!
  362. Sean grave leaves the stage and jumps down the stairs to elegantly land below with the other.
  363.
  364. Van Renard | There's probably at least one child crying, and at least one other child whooping, "Gross! COOL!" in delight. The audience applauds with a variety of facial expressions.
  365.
  366. Clover just stands there, stunned.
  367.
  368. [Say] Sean grave: that was fun!
  369.
  370. Keshj stomps up besides Onaryn
  371. [Say] Keshj: I hear the noises. What is this.
  372.
  373. Onaryn Drith'ranndi takes a small sip of tea as finally Sean's performance ends. That appears to be the extent of his reaction to the display.
  374.
  375. Sean grave /there would be no mutated residue left on stage, not even a trace of scent in the air, even if there sensibly should be
  376.
  377. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Sean is terrorizing the people of Neverwinter with song now."
  378. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "It is quite the talent he has."
  379.
  380. Keshj grumbles uncertainly, narrowing his eyes at Sean.
  381. [Say] Keshj: ...Yes.
  382.
  383. [Say] Sean grave: oh hello sir kes, you just missed the barber quartet
  384.
  385. Van Renard steps out in a glittering purple-and-white tutu, white tights, and white silk pointe shoes. Their braid's twisted into a bun set with a tiara. The very picture of feminine elegance.
  386.
  387. Sean grave /auxili would have found the performance fun! she claps and dances
  388. Sean grave /auxili would aww at how cute van looks, she claps and cheers
  389.
  390. Onaryn Drith'ranndi sighs as this means Sean's performance is at an end. "Finally.....a classical dance routine....at least it will not contain abominations hiding in a hat."
  391.
  392. Van Renard has entered a new persona unflinchingly, wielding a folding fan in one hand, each step precise and graceful. "Well! That was... That sure was! It certainly happened!" They give a throaty laugh. Their deep voice is very at odds with this demure demeanor.
  393.
  394. Keshj smacks his lips, raising a hand to savagely scratch at his temple like a giant ape.
  395.
  396. [Say] Van Renard: "I shall be performing the second variation from the ballet mentioned prior, and then should anyone else wish to perform -" Van makes a gesture with the fan to indicate other performers can approach. After.
  397.
  398. Sean grave /auxili suggests that onaryn does a beast taming trick with a chair and keshj.
  399.
  400. Keshj snarls. "Quiet, you!" he barks up at Auxili.
  401.
  402. Onaryn Drith'ranndi sighs and fans himself with the program. "You are supposed to admire their motion given form and not scratch yourself in the head..."
  403. Onaryn Drith'ranndi turns to Auxili "Shh....you are ruining the performance.....by existing."
  404.
  405. Van Renard is paying no heed to the minor commotion to the side. This character they've become is unflappable.
  406. Van Renard curtseys and steps back daintily, getting into position in the few seconds' silence before the orchestra pit starts up.
  407.
  408. Sean grave /auxili would ignore them as she turns to watch vans dance
  409. Sean grave /just doing a tiny bleep at them first
  410.
  411. (( https: //www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lpR7yQ66mc ))
  412.
  413. Van Renard holds the folded fan in their hands to their chest with maidenly demureness, as a romantic harp twinkles an introduction, soon joined gaily by woodwinds.
  414. Van Renard begins a lively variation, grinning and winking as they flutter and snap the fan, twirl and kick and leap with a gazelle's light grace.
  415. Van Renard towers en pointe at almost 6 and a half feet tall on their toes, lean long legs on display under the fluttering tulle skirts.
  416. Van Renard's fanged smile never breaks, even as sweat glistens on their exposed shoulders and their breath comes ever quicker.
  417. Van Renard's dance comes to an end in a perfect arabesque on one foot, the other raised high behind, fan unfurled overhead
  418.
  419. Clover claps excitedly for the performance.
  420.
  421. Onaryn Drith'ranndi uses his own paper fan to cool himself as he watches the performance "An interesting interpreation of form and precison."
  422.
  423. [Say] Clover: "Hooray!"
  424.
  425. Sean grave /auxili wobbles and cheers
  426.
  427. Onaryn Drith'ranndi turns to Keshj and starts to say "I did appreciate the contrast of forms in the.....oh what I am saying, I am talking to a neanderthall...."
  428.
  429. Van Renard lowers the raised leg slowly and gives another curtsey to the audience as the applause starts up. Several are vastly relieved Van didn't grow any tentacles.
  430.
  431. Onaryn Drith'ranndi keeps his thoughts to himself and merely applauds.
  432.
  433. Van Renard canters off-stage.
  434.
  435. [Say] Sean grave: that was fun
  436.
  437. [Say] Clover: "Very impressive."
  438.
  439. [Say] Van Renard: "Hm - No one else in line?"
  440.
  441. [Say] Sean grave: your biomechanical balancing act was facinating to study
  442.
  443. [Say] Van Renard: "Thanks!"
  444.
  445. Rose Red takes a seat.
  446.
  447. [Say] Clover: "... Oh! Miss Rose, mister Onaryn, and mister Keshj. I am afraid I've already performed."
  448.
  449. Keshj squints, smacking his lips a few times as he growls. He turns to scowl at Onaryn before peering at Clover
  450.
  451. [Say] Rose Red: Ullo missus. s awight juss come ta see whut was appnin loike.
  452.
  453. Van Renard steps up again.
  454.
  455. [Say] Keshj: What did you do, little halfling?
  456.
  457. Sean grave /auxili would meep and ride her basket towards the stage, she moves to the stairs and proclaims she want to play to
  458.
  459. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Oh no Miss Clover, I already saw your rendition of song before..... Sean's..... magic.... act.... or massacre."
  460. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "I am not sure what it was supposed to be."
  461.
  462. [Say] Van Renard: "Now then! The pre-planned portion of the show has now run its course - Thank you immensely to everyone who's come out to watch or perform so far!"
  463. [Say] Van Renard: "Do we have any other takers who'd like to step onto the stage? Remember, there are no entry fees and no contest, this is merely for fun!"
  464.
  465. Sean grave /auxili meeps! she does!
  466.
  467. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Oh by the gods no. She should be disqualified! She was in Sean's act!"
  468.
  469. Keshj jabs a finger at Auxili. "Slay that thing and be done with it!
  470.
  471. Rose Red looks about to see if there are any other takers.
  472.
  473. [Say] Van Renard: "... Would Miss Auxili be... performing solo this time?"
  474.
  475. Sean grave /auxili protests, that was just audience participation
  476. Sean grave /auxili nods! she and her performing puppets!
  477.
  478. [Say] Van Renard: "... What are the puppets made of?"
  479.
  480. Sean grave /auxili grabs some of them with her tendrils, they would be sock puppets! made out of cloth, various cuttlery, or pretty rocks and stuff she glued together.
  481.
  482. Onaryn Drith'ranndi sighs and buries his face in the program. "Nothing natural to be sure."
  483.
  484. Rose Red giggles watching Auxili's antics
  485.
  486. [Say] Keshj: It is trash, it is all traaash, destroy the beast!
  487. Keshj calls out from the crowd, sticking out like a sore thumb.
  488.
  489. Sean grave /auxili would pout and blow raspberries at keshj!
  490.
  491. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Oh Lady Talice, you are just in time to see the dying vestiage of performance art, murdered by Sean's abomination."
  492.
  493. Sean grave /auxili would meep sad, being disheartened by the audience reaction
  494.
  495. Talice Vandree adjusts her robes a bit. "What a charming little gathering. You must forgive my tardiness."
  496.
  497. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Think nothing of it Lady Talice, it is your presence we cannot forgive."
  498.
  499. Keshj grinds his teeth, slowly, almost groggily blinking at Talice as he turns to her before returning his attention to the performance.
  500.
  501. Van Renard is still in a sparkly expensive-looking tutu and pointe shoes, fluttering a folding fan, and currently contemplating whether or not to let Auxili perform.
  502.
  503. Sean grave /auxili would give van a puppy eyed look, excitedly waiting for her judgment
  504.
  505. Van Renard | The theatre seating itself is about half-populated with an audience, and the band pit waits in anticipation of whoever they might accompany for next.
  506.
  507. [Say] Van Renard: "Mister Sean's performance was... an overwhelming affair of - only somewhat unexpected proportions... But I think I can trust Miss Auxili."
  508.
  509. Sean grave /auxili makes a happy dance!
  510.
  511. Van Renard's voice has a slight warning tone to it not to make anyone regret this. "Miss Auxili, do you need to be carried or have a table?"
  512.
  513. Sean grave /auxili tries to have her basket walk up the stairs, its tiny insectoid legs dont seems to do stairs well. she meeps she may need help, she need her basket for her equipment
  514.
  515. Van Renard has a definite air of authority and confidence that was NOT at all present before the show - Maybe the nerves wore off, or maybe the glamorous outfit is doing it.
  516.
  517. Keshj scowls, leaning to the side to 'whisper' towards Onaryn, but he's overheard in many of the rows surrounding him.
  518. [Say] Keshj: That thing has grown.
  519.
  520. Van Renard steps over lightly and brings the basket onto the stage.
  521.
  522. Sean grave /auxili is the same size, her basket is the thing with odd legs, she just rides inside of it
  523.
  524. Onaryn Drith'ranndi raises his parasol as if it would be some sort of barrier against an incomming explosion or dam to stem the tsunami.
  525.
  526. Van Renard sets the basket down carefully.
  527.
  528. Sean grave /auxili thanks van with a soft chime
  529.
  530. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Yes, we should keep an eye on the emergencey exits...... wait this place has none...."
  531.
  532. [Say] Keshj: No. We kill, if it attacks.
  533. Keshj counters.
  534.
  535. [Say] Clover: "Every wall is an emergency exit if you try hard enough, mister Onaryn."
  536.
  537. Van Renard gives Auxili a little one-finger pat on the head before stepping back.
  538.
  539. Sean grave /auxili would rumble throught her stuff for her puppets, she then looks to van and waits for her introduction
  540.
  541. [Say] Van Renard: "Oh, right, sorry -" Van sprongles right up the stairs in one step.
  542. [Say] Van Renard: "Up next! Miss Auxili, with a puppet show!"
  543.
  544. Clover gives a quiet wave to Talice when she sees her.
  545.
  546. Sean grave /auxili would rise a curtain, and then start to make a drumroll
  547. Sean grave /she parts the curtain as she lets out a thrympeting! the story begins!
  548.
  549. Van Renard moves back again.
  550.
  551. Onaryn Drith'ranndi nods "Indeed, such a strategy has served me well in the past." His eyes turn to watch the foul creature waiting for it's first move.
  552.
  553. Van Renard watches curiously and cautiously, fanning themself. They mutter a spell under their breath, and gradually any trace of sweat vanishes from their body and outfit.
  554.
  555. Keshj stares Auxili down, his left eye twitching repeatedly.
  556.
  557. Sean grave /a rugged doll pops up! auxili starts the story, there once were a princess, she loved all of the land! even the ugly ogres, a doll resembling keshj pops up. auxili continues, with a dramatical ominous spooky noise! rarw! grwls! there was an evil dragon wizard!
  558.
  559. Van Renard hides a smirk behind their fan as the Keshj doll pops up.
  560.
  561. Onaryn Drith'ranndi says grimly "Trite and predictable rubbish for small children..."
  562.
  563. Keshj wrinkles up his tattooed nose, tusks jutting a bit further from his mouth. "Ogres..." he repeats loudly, but without quite interrupting the show.
  564.
  565. Sean grave /rawl raw growl the dragon says, I want to eat princesses! I am meanie!
  566.
  567. Talice Vandree coughs a tiny cough, perhaps suppressing a snicker.
  568.
  569. Keshj grumbles.
  570.
  571. Sean grave /auxili would dance around with other dolls resembling tiny knights! they all tried to fight the evil bad dragon!" but it was too strong so they all lost! the dragon sneeezed at them and they all blew away!" auxili makes the sound effects for it. she would in the background clam and bonk pot lids and scramble cuttlery for the the princess, said she would stop this evil dragon! auxili gestures, the princess took her sword and swore she would wangui,, vanchis, defeat! the dragon.
  572.
  573. Van Renard | The children in the audience do in fact enjoy this! Except the one child who was oddly enraptured with Sean's act, who crosses his arms and grumbles in agreement with Onaryn
  574.
  575. Sean grave /the mean stepmom, pops up, this one being a meanie hag, talice of cause, says the princess CANT do it! and the idea is stupid
  576.
  577. [Say] Keshj: Yes, that is Talice!
  578. Keshj booms.
  579.
  580. Sean grave /auxili bonks the meanie stepmom with a club.
  581.
  582. Talice Vandree squints her violet eyes slightly, then shoots a look sidelong at Keshj.
  583.
  584. Onaryn Drith'ranndi cannot help but smile "Well. this little drama is improving already."
  585.
  586. Sean grave /auxili puts the princess on a horse! making horsie noises they rides to battle!
  587.
  588. Keshj stares glumly at the performance, occasionally snarling whenever a nearby child makes a happy sound.
  589.
  590. Sean grave /challenging the meanie dragon! auxili makes huffing and puffing as from her basket, an evil dragon, made out of papper mache and brightly colored.
  591. Sean grave /she makes a dramatic rumbling as from thunder, the dragon is mean, and Hungry! it want to eat princesses.
  592. Sean grave /auxili would now make dramatical battle music as she chimes, as the princess makes a duel with her sword against the dragon! cutting its head off.
  593.
  594. Keshj grunts briefly at the violence, as childlike as it may be.
  595.
  596. Sean grave /auxili then puts the head back on, she makes a triumphant cheer as the dragon asks to be spared!
  597.
  598. [Say] Onaryn Drith'ranndi: "Hopefully it will be a happy ending and they both die."
  599.
  600. Keshj clicks his teeth before he bares them at sudden revival of the dragon.
  601. [Say] Keshj: No.
  602.
  603. Strange Panther takes a seat.
  604.
  605. Sean grave /auxili gestures widly with the dragon as it explains it was so mean and bad because it was hungry! and meanie lady stepmom told it to be so.
  606. Sean grave /the princess, fairest in the land and very kind, forgives the dragon! and offers it cake and candy instead, proclaiming it will now be a candy dragon,
  607. Sean grave /auxili explains that all the dragon needed was a hug! as she gives it one! and all was then well in the kingdom!
  608. Sean grave /she then pulls out all the dolls and have them bow to the audience.
  609.
  610. Keshj raises a fist, shaking it back and forth as tremendous displeasure manifests itself in the form of a deep bellow.
  611.
  612. Van Renard | The audience (mostly) applauds.
  613.
  614. Strange Panther claps.
  615.
  616. Sean grave /auxili makes a happy dance and sings her melody
  617.
  618. Van Renard applauds.
  619.
  620. Strange Panther takes a seat.
  621.
  622. Onaryn Drith'ranndi stares at the sad display of paper dolls and while he does not bellow and shout like Keshj he just crosses his arms and scowls, not to be won over with cute displays fit for children. He is far too petty and childish for that.
  623.
  624. Clover claps as well, thankful this one did not involve horrible abominations.
  625.
  626. Sean grave /auxili would bow and finish by telling them that it is allways important being nice! and eat candy or you will become grumpy like onaryn!
  627.
  628. Strange Panther lets out an exuberant cheer.
  629.
  630. Van Renard | Another round of applause and some light chuckles follow.
  631.
  632. Onaryn Drith'ranndi shakes his parasol at the abomination "This is no place for editorals! Off the stage foul creature! Boo!"
  633.
  634. Keshj scrunches up his features distastefully, grinding his teeth together.
  635. [Say] Keshj: Yes, kill it!
  636.
  637. Van Renard steps up to retrieve Auxili in her basket and brings her back to Sean.
  638.
  639. Keshj growls half-heartedly over the din of applause.
  640.
  641. Sean grave /Auxili happily prattles, excitedly she bounces, this was fun! she thanks van for helping her
  642.
  643. [Say] Van Renard: "And that was Miss Auxili! Are there any other prospective performers to take the stage?"
  644.
  645. Strange Panther points at Keshj.
  646.
  647. Keshj seems unaware of being volunteered, and so continues to scowl at his surroundings.
  648.
  649. Sean grave /auxili giggles and plays with her puppets, she made them out of socks and bags, string and painted with pretty buttons or string, candy too! the one resembling onaryn of cause have a big grumpy stupid frown on it.
  650.
  651. Onaryn Drith'ranndi takes out his oprea glasses and searches for other prospective hearalds of culture. Unfortunately, all he sees is Keshj's angry scowl.
  652.
  653. Van Renard waits for any volunteers, and when none arise, Van simply nods once. "In that case, I thank you all for coming! It could not have been a show without an audience, of course!"
  654.
  655. [Say] Sean grave: That was fun!
  656. Sean grave claps, auxili doing the same as she gives applause to them
  657.
  658. Clover nods enthusiastically. "And I got through a whole song without running away!"
  659.
  660. [Say] Van Renard: "And thank everyone for volunteered to perform. I may see you all again next year for another talent show - And other productions here in-between!"
  661.
  662. [Say] Sean grave: Notify me if any symptoms appear!
  663.
  664. Talice Vandree applauds politely, giving Sean a weary look.
  665.
  666. Onaryn Drith'ranndi takes another sip of his tea and looks around. "Well a song is not so hard to get through. One simple screams loud enough until people flee in horror."
  667.
  668. Sean grave /auxili would suggest onaryn do that on stage! it would be funny watching him standing there yelling like a madman.
  669.
  670. Van Renard flashes a big fangy grin and bows deeply. "This has been the Tymor Street Talent Show, and I have been your host, Van Renard!"
