The Eventide Alehouse (indoors).
This dimly lit, yet inviting space imparts a feeling of warmth and mirth. A large fire blazes in the
stone fireplace set into the southern wall, providing much of the light in the room. Underfoot, a
layer of sawdust carpets the oak panelled floor. Eight thick wooden tables each support a small lamp
and are flanked by a pair of padded benches, while all along the bar and eastern wall hang flagons,
mugs and glasses of various shapes and sizes. The wall behind the bar sports the usual assortment of
spirits and liquors, and underneath are at least three dozen barrels piled up, their tops facing
outwards, each fitted with a tap and labelled to indicate the contents. Near the back corner of the
room a small stage offers space for travelling minstrels to entertain the patrons on any given
evening, and an upturned hat rests on a nearby table to collect the contributions of gold from those

The narrow Argent Lane intersects with the much more expansive Serpentis Boulevard here, marked
plainly by a large gold-lined sign in the centre of the junction. To the north a large citadel is
visible, its imposing structure contrasting with the simpler design of the houses around it.
Stretching off to the east and west, scores of people drift in and out of the many shops and houses
that line the road. Several merchants call out from roadside kiosks, loudly boasting of their wares

the city flag surrounds you. A public sitting area within the structure contains luxuriant and
comfortable couches which are laid with cushions and draped with tapestries while peddlers clustered
around the doors proffer their wares to the rich citizenry who bustle back and forth from the
counters to their sources of income. Men and women in well-to-do clothing walk the floor of the
structure, greeting customers and assisting the financiers who control the bank. The Golden Dragon
