- "Sunset, what brings you to my private chambers so late in the evening?"
- >"Forgive me Father Mous, I am afraid it could not wait."
- >You sigh.
- "Shall I get behind the confessional?"
- >"I am fine with confessing my sins as we are now. Is this acceptable?"
- "Very well, confess your sins child."
- >She gets down on her knees.
- >"Oh father, I have committed egregious sins. As a woman of the sisterhood I am deeply ashamed."
- "Continue."
- >"I have been thinking licentiously, every time I see a man, my mind thinks only lewd unacceptable things of him. These thoughts tempt me verily throughout the day, and by days end, I am engulfed in my sins.. O-oh father.."
- >She begins crying.
- >"I c-continually break my vows of celibacy by violating my body.. G-god would be so ashamed of me. I am unworthy! Why am I so filthy, why can I not resist these sins?!"
- [End Prompt]
- >You look at the child, barely 19.
- "He upon most high is ashamed only when you seek pleasure over repentance, my child."
- >She looks up to you, watching your face and lips.
- "Such is his generosity to those with the human condition. Rest easy, young Sister."
- >She smiles and looks at you, much more at peace then she did before.
- "The blood of Christ has cleansed you, and has done so every since you let it. I myself sin, little one. You know this, right?"
- >She looks a little shocked.
- >Such is youth.
- "I do. In different ways then you, perhaps, but I sin nevertheless. My child, I act in Christ's name, to help you not to come to terms, but you let you speak," you explain. "You knows, right?"
- >"Yes father."
- >She is still kneeling, and you smile at her.
- "Then rise, knowing you are forgiven by the Grace of God."
- >She frowns.
- >"But father, this was a grave sin."
- "I am aware of this, Sister," you say, your tone calm. "However, I would think there is a difference between another Sister and you doing such a thing."
- >She seems shocked and takes a step back as she rises.
- >"Father!"
- "You are a growing lady, Sister. You're barely old enough to drink, and cannot in some areas. To treat you the same as I would someone in their older years, it is unforgivable."
- >If anyone outside Sunset heard you speak, you'd be demoted.
- >She nearly shakes and falls back on her knees.
- "A mortal sin is a mortal sin, this I know, Sister. But I would like to think God understands, if only at some level."
- >She nods, too shocked to speak.
- "If you would join me in Communion, we can both get back to bed, my child," you say, heading over to the cabinet.
- >"Can I help, father?"
- "No, no. I am fine," you say, pulling out the wine.
- >It's an older bottle you opened last night.
- >Not for confession, but fun with some others in the Abby.
- >It was a gift from a local.
- >And you figured it would be good for the young lady.
- "Please, have a seat," you say, pointing to a table and chair."
- >She does so, a little suprised.
- >Still not used to life.
- >Then again, neither are you.
- >You thank God whenever you can that you have no become part of the system.
- >Might explain why you've been here, doing this so long.
- >You set the wine on the table, along with two glasses, before grabbing some biskets you made earlier that day.
- "My child, above all, you must realizes this," you say, pouring a little into her glass and yours.
- >"What is it father?"
- "God loves you."
- >"I am aware of that."
- "He will not stop loving you. He will always love you."
- >"I know, Father."
- >You hold her graze and smile.
- "Do you know what He also loves?"
- >"What is it, Father?"
- "Mercy. Understanding. Compassion," you say with a smile. "These are the greatest gifts He has given us. They are what allow for Confession, community, and most of all, togetherness."
- >She smiles, and looks down.
- "He also appreciates some good old fashion ingenuity," you say, passing her the basket of biskets.
- >She takes one, unsure of what to do with it.
- "I always hated how stuck up Confession was, you know?
- >Her eyes shoot open.
- >"What?"
- "I do. So much formality. Not enough getting to the point. We've lost why we Confess. I bet God really likes this right here," you say, waving your hand over the set up you have.
- >She giggles.
- >It's a nice change from the tears earlier.
- >"I bet he does," she says.
- >A smile finds its way onto her lips.
