- IndieCade
- Entry: Treasure Adventure World
- -----
- -Great opening imagery
- -Initial UI (Create new game) is a little jarring in comparison
- -Moving the cinematic subtitles to the black lower portion of the screen will mean you can remove the drop shadow (which cheapens your visual style)
- -Great visual style.
- -Dialogue UI could be brought into line with this so it doesn?t detract so drastically
- -Intertia on movement indoors (and general movement rate) feels a little high
- -Forcing the player to jump over / crawl under the first table felt odd but is an understandable teaching moment for controls
- -The ocean lags the game up significantly
- -Why does grandma keep my hand locked in a chest? That seems dark and cruel
- -The technology in the world seems dissonant.
- -The ?grab surface with hook? feels a little tricky - like it doesn?t 100% work as expected all of the time
- -Animation + Sound is a little out of line with the quality of the visuals
- -The white transitions (fade to white) are a bit blinding on larger screens
- -The map didn?t feel very magical when I opened it up
- -QA note (minor): When I closed the app after playing for a few hours my CPU shot up to 80% and stayed there, I had to restart. Odd. Attempted to replicate with a shorter play session but couldn?t.
- -The general opening / narrative and such is a little cliche
- -Just a beautiful piece of work, overall. Really well-realized world
- -The combat is a little strange I felt - the game was not paced for what I felt was twitchy action

- Thank you for submitting your game. I found it too deliberately derivative of the metroidvania genre to nominate for an award, but I sense your goal from the start was to make this very sort of game. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
