i had a bit of trouble in the beginning since i grew up in a town that is literally 96.46% white (there was maybe 2 black kids in my entire high school). after awhile though, i picked it up and i was able to understand it easily. then the weirdest thing happened: i started being able to understand it other places as well. where i would have previously thought the speaker was just dumb or inarticulate, i began to view it as just another dialect. the wire defeated my subtle racism :unsmith:
