  1. >Cadence was already up and awake when you woke, but she was back inside the bathroom.
  2. “You ok in there Princess?”
  3. >”Yes… Just a bit sick.”
  4. “Want some breakfast?”
  5. >”That would be nice…”
  6. >The door swung open, and a tired looking Cadence stepped out.
  7. “Go lay down, I’ll make ya breakfast in bed.”
  8. >”You’re sweet Anon…”
  9. “Yeah I know. Get in bed.”
  10. >Cadence laid back in bed, and you got to work looking through the small kitchen for something to make.
  11. >All you had on hand was eggs and bread.
  12. >French toast it was.
  13. >How did this go again?
  14. >Beat the eggs, smother bread, cook?
  15. >That sounded right.
  16. >If there was one downside to spending so long in active duty, it was the fact that you never had to learn how to cook.
  17. >If it wasn’t from the mess hall, it was from an MRE.
  18. >And all you had to do for that shit was add water.
  19. >Alright, eggs beat…. But they didn’t look right…
  20. >They needed to look creamier... maybe add milk?
  21. >Well, why the hell not?
  22. You poured a bit of milk into the eggs, and beat them a bit more until you were left with a bright yellow liquid.
  23. >That looked better.
  24. >Now, dip both sides of the bread inside, throw in the pan…
  25. >Hey, this wasn’t so hard!
  26. >How did the cooks in the mess hall mess this up every day?
  27. >In a matter of minutes you had made a small stack of French toast, but you still needed two things.
  28. >It didn’t take long to find either, given this place’s main food group seemed to be sugar.
  29. >You grabbed a pair of forks, the bottle of syrup, and a jar of powdered sugar, and placed it all on a large tray left from a previous room service.
  30. >Now if you just had your ASU’s instead of your greasy ass flight suit you could make a halfway decent waiter.
  31. >You brought the tray of food over to the bed, setting it down on the silky bed sheets.
  32. >”You forgot the drinks dear…”
  33. “Oh, right… what do you want?”
  34. >”Orange juice is fine…”
  35. >You hurried back to the kitchen and poured two glasses of OJ, and hurried back to the waiting mare in bed.
  36. >”Thank you dear.”
  37. >Cadence took the glass from your hand and sipped on the juice as you got situated on the other side of the tray.
  38. “Wait, did you call me dear?”
  39. >”Did I? Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
  40. “It’s fine… go ahead, dig in.”
  41. >You took your own slice of French toast and poured some syrup on it, taking a bite as Cadence looked at the strange food for a moment before eating it.
  42. >”This is pretty good… What is it?”
  43. “French toast. I’ll show you how to make it before I leave. If you want.”
  44. >”That sounds lovely. What does French mean?”
  45. “French means it’s from France, a country from where I’m from.”
  46. >”Is it nice?”
  47. “It’s a beautiful country. It’s considered one of the most romantic places in the world.”
  48. >”Sounds like a place I would love to visit.”
  49. “Most girls dream of going on a honeymoon to France.”
  50. >”Are you married?”
  51. “No. Never settled down, never planned to.”
  52. >”Why not?”
  53. “I don’t like getting attached to people.”
  54. >”Are you close to anyone?”
  55. “I was close to the guy I came here with. Knew him for about 7 years.”
  56. >”I’m sorry for your loss…”
  57. “That’s just war for you.”
  58. >”Are we friends? Are we… close?”
  59. “…Yeah. Hard not to get close to the two ponies that are nice to you, when the rest want to kill you.”
  60. >”How long until you leave?”
  61. “If everything goes right today… I’ll be gone tomorrow.”
  62. >Cadence’s face went from happy and content, to as it you just ran over her puppy.
  63. >”Oh…”
  64. “You knew I was leaving soon.”
  65. >”Not that soon…”
  66. >You reached over and pet her mane, and she softly nuzzled into your palm.
  67. >”I’ll miss you…”
  68. “I’ll never forget you.”
  69. >Normally that would have been a lie.
  70. >But seriously, how could you forget a talking, pretty, pink, princess p0ny?
  71. >That was a lot of p…
  72. >Cadence leaned over and kissed your cheek one more time.
  73. “I should go start working on my bird. Celestia’s probably going to tell me I’m late again.”
  74. >”Wouldn’t want to keep her waiting now would you?”
  75. “I’ll see you tonight.”
  76. >You left Cadence where she was, allowing her to finish her meal in silence.
  77. >Poor mare had been through more than you had.
  78. >You could feel you anger swell up inside you at the very thought of that Shiny bastad.
  79. >Oh how easy it would be to catch him in a drunken stupor and place your remaining .38 caliber bullets into his skull.
  80. >1 for the kill, 2 for the show, 3 for Cadence, 4 for fuck you.
  81. >”Chief? Are you ok?”
  82. “Oh, morning Celestia, just some things on my mind…”
  83. >”Well, you can talk to me if you’d like.”
  84. “Nah, I can’t… Come on, let’s get these engines mounted and hooked up. I want to get this war bird back in the air.”
  85. >”Alright, I won’t pry.”
  86. >You climbed up on the side of the Apache, and Celestia lifted the engine up into place, allowing you to bolt it in place.
  87. “Can I ask you something?”
  88. >”Of course.”
  89. “If a friend told you a dark secret, but made you swear you wouldn’t tell anyone, what would you do?”
  90. >”I wouldn’t tell anyone.”
  91. “Even if it could end up hurting them?”
  92. >Celestia remained quiet.
  93. “Yeah, that’s what I said too.”
  94. >”Does it concern anyone I know?”
  95. >Hey, now it was your turn not to talk.
  96. >”Chief?”
  97. “Hand me that wrench please.”
  98. >A wrench floated up towards you, and an awkward silence hung in the air as you continued bolting the engine to its mounts, reconnecting wires, and tightening hoses.
  99. >”Does it involve Cadence?”
  100. >Alright, you needed to change the subject.
  101. ”Instead of a movie, how about we have a picnic?”
  102. >”That does sound nice…”
  103. “If you go pack the basket now, I should be done with this last engine by the time you get back.”
  104. >”Don’t you need my help?”
  105. “Honestly Celestia, I’ve just needed you for the rest of time you’ve just been great company.”
  106. >”Well, alright. I suppose we’re flying somewhere for this?”
  107. “If this thing works.”
  108. >”I know just the spot.”
  109. >Celestia trotted off and you continued your repairs.
  110. >You finished bolting the cover on just as she walked through the bay door.
  111. >”Almost finished?”
  112. “I’m actually about to start it up. I’m not going to be swarmed the moment I get airborne am I?”
  113. >”You’ll be fine Anon. Go ahead. I’m sure you and I can deal with any guard that tries something foolish.”
  114. >This p0ny was awesome.
  115. “Alright, you should stand back. Wouldn’t want the rotors chopping off that pretty head of yours.”
  116. >Celestia stepped back outside, and you climbed up in the saddle, starting a quick preflight check.
  117. “Axillary and main power online, engine one is go, engine two is go. All systems look green. Blades are in motion.”
  118. The rotors above you slowly started spinning, gradually building up speed, pushing wind down.
  119. “Whoops, almost forgot.”
  120. >You pulled an Ipod out from your flight pocket and powered it up, hooking it up to the axillary port you had rigged up, broadcasting the music to the speakers in your helmet and to the speaker system outside.
  121. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAfvjtmBseY
  122. >Tilting the blades forward, you taxied out of the hangar, rolling out past Celestia who looked on through her mane that was blowing in front of her face.
  123. “Moment of truth…”
  124. >You pushed the throttle up to max and the gunship lifted off the ground, rising up into the air.”
  125. “Damn it feels good to be back in the air. Alright ol’ girl, let’s see what you can do.”
  126. >You climbed up to about 300ft and began zipping through the sky, banking left and right, keeping a careful eye on the engines.
  127. >Satisfied they were going to hold, you went into a nose dive, pulling up so you hovered only 50 feet from the ground.
  128. >You cut the music momentarily so you could speak to Celestia through the speakers.
  129. “Come on up, the air is fine!”
  130. >Celestia took off at a full gallop, flapping her wings and took to the skies.
  131. >You spun the chopper around and took off after her, easily keeping pace with the princess.
  132. >Even from where you were, you could clearly see her look back at you with a smile.
  133. >She beat her wings faster, and harder, shooting off ahead of you.
  134. “If it’s a race you want, it’s a race you’ll get.”
  135. >You pushed the chopper up to full speed, catching up with Celestia slowly but surely.
  136. >At the last moment, she dove into a clearing, flaring her wings, and landed with such grace that you couldn’t hope to achieve.
  137. >Still no harm in trying.
  138. >You circled the clearing once, swooped down, and raised the nose up, slowing your forward momentum.
  139. >Once you had slowed down enough, you gently laid lowered the bird to the ground, landing softly in the field.
  140. >”Nice of you to join me.”
  141. “Don’t get cocky, only reason you won is because I didn’t know the finish line.”
  142. >”Oh? Were we racing?”
  143. “No not at all. I was just playing keep up.”
  144. >”Fancy way of saying you were enjoying the sight of my flank.”
  145. >You both flushed red at that comment.
  146. >”I didn’t mean it like that…”
  147. “Were you showing off your p0ny ass? I didn’t notice.”
  148. >Celestia’s horn glowed and she tossed a sandwich at your face, which you expertly caught… with your face.
  149. “It’s not polite to play with your food.”
  150. >You peeled the sandwich off of your face, which had stuck there as if you were in a cartoon.
  151. >Celestia spread out a checkered blanket perfectly with her magic, and the two of you sat next to each other.
  152. >Ahead of you, the sun seemed to reflect off the mountain side, casting brilliant shades of orange and purple across the land.
  153. “This place is beautiful.”
  154. >”I use to come here as a filly with my parents for picnics.”
  155. “I see why.”
  156. >You took a bite of your sandwich, resisting the urge to spit it out.
  157. >Between the two slices of bread were a few flowers, dandelions to be specific.
  158. >This was ridiculous.
  159. >Still, you had your manners, and you bit into the sandwich again, thinking back to all the weird shit you had eaten in your travels.
  160. >Well, at least it wasn’t spiders…
  161. >”You don’t have to eat it if you don’t want to Chief.”
  162. “It’s not THAT bad…”
  163. >”Sometimes you’re too polite Chief.”
  164. “Me? Too polite? Celestia do you have me mistaken with another human?”
  165. >”I said sometimes. You can be a defiant ass.”
  166. “Aw, you do like me.”
  167. >You had to do a double take to ensure this was still Celestia, not Cadence, with that blush she had going on.
  168. >”I said no such thing…”
  169. “I’m kidding Celestia.”
  170. >You reached over and patted her one the head as she took a bite of her own sandwich.
  171. >”So… You’re leaving tomorrow?”
  172. “Yeah… probably be in the air before sunrise.”
  173. >An awkward silence hung between you two as you each slowly ate your meals.
  174. “Thanks for everything.”
  175. >”When Chrysalis can’t send you back-“
  176. “If.”
  177. >”I’m sorry?”
  178. “If Chrysalis refuses or can’t send me back.”
  179. >”Right. If she can’t send you back…”
  180. “I kill everything.”
  181. >”Or die trying?”
  182. “We’re on the same page so far.”
  183. >”What about after that?”
  184. “I don’t plan on living past that.”
  185. >”…Oh.”
  186. >Celestia set her half eaten picnic lunch aside, her appetite suddenly escaping her.
  187. >”What if you do?”
  188. “Well, I haven’t thought about that…”
  189. >”You could always come back here. I wouldn’t mind the company.”
  190. “I’m not exactly welcome by very many p0nies.”
  191. >”Perhaps, but you’ve befriended me and my niece. Surely you can befriend a few more.”
  192. >Celestia nuzzled her snout against your cheek.
  193. >Just like Cadence, it was warm and soft.
  194. >Her flowing mane seemed to wrap around your body, tickling every part that it touched.
  195. >”Would you like to watch the sunset?”
  196. “Sure, I love a good sunset.”
  197. >There was a flapping sound as Celestia extended her wing, and placed it around your body.
  198. >If it wasn’t obvious when the two of you were racing, her pulling your body close with only her wing proved how strong she was.
  199. >You almost wished you had something else to wear, so you could experience the touch of the soft feathers more.
  200. >You watched as the sun began to lower itself into the mountain side, casting more beautiful colors across the land.
  201. >“Can you fly at night?”
  202. “Faster than you can.”
  203. >”Oh? Are we racing again?”
  204. “You’re damn right we are.”
  205. >You helped Celestia pack the things up back into the basket, and you placed it in all in the gunner’s seat of the gunship.
  206. >Running through your preflight checklists once more, you got in the air as quickly as you could.
  207. >Looking around with the 30mm FLIR, you located Celestia, who was hovering to your 9 o’ clock.
  208. “Alright Princess, on your mark, get set, GO!”
  209. >You threw the blades and nose forward, and began picking up speed, heading toward Canterlot.
  210. >Celestia bolted ahead of you, her more aerodynamic frame and lighter body giving her an edge in terms of acceleration.
  211. >But in terms of top speed, you had her beat, and a few moments later, you began reeling her in.
  212. >As the city lights of Canterlot came into view, you passed by Celestia, zipped over the castle walls, and yanked the nose up, slowing your bird to a halt.
  213. >Celestia landed as you spun around in place, ensuring the landing zone was clear of any nearby guards.
  214. >With the bird on the ground, you rolled it back into the hangar, and cut the engine.
  215. >”I win.”
  216. >Celestia had an almost prideful grin on her face.
  217. “I got to the castle first.”
  218. >”I landed first.”
  219. “So?”
  220. >”So I win.”
  221. “Oh whatever Celestia.”
  222. >”Good race.”
  223. >Her mane had lost its magical flow, and was now only a pale pink in color.
  224. >It was like this when you broke out of your cell too.
  225. >Honestly, this was cuter, to you at least.
  226. >You stepped in closer, wrapping your arms around her neck and embracing her.
  227. “Thanks for everything.”
  228. >”I’ll miss you.”
  229. “I’ll miss you too. Good night sun.”
  230. >You and Celestia walked out together, and you watched as she made her way towards the main body of the castle, before going back to your own room.
  231. >”So you’re finally leaving.”
  232. >You looked behind you just as a dark blue figure stepped out of the shadows.
  233. “Good evening Luna. Yes, I’ll be leaving before the sun rises, if I can help it.”
  234. >”Well, good riddance.”
  235. >Luna began trotting off to go about… whatever she did at this hour.
  236. “Luna, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”
  237. >”What?”
  238. “Shining Armor… he’s been abusing Cadence.”
  239. >”Why didn’t you tell Celestia?”
  240. “Cadence made me promise not to tell Celestia. She didn’t say you though.”
  241. >”How do I know you aren’t lying?”
  242. “Why would I lie about that?”
  243. >”Maybe you raped Cadence.”
  244. >Oh fuck, this got turned around on you fairly quick.
  245. “You want proof? Why don’t you crack open my mind like you wanted to the first day we met?”
  246. >”I will.”
  247. >Shit.
  248. >Luna’s horn glowed brightly, and you quickly found yourself on the ground, clutching your head.
  249. >You could feel an alien presence inside you mind, raking through your thoughts, searching every square inch for something to accuse you off.
  250. >Minutes passed before Luna finally released you, but it felt like an hour.
  251. >Never had you been literally mind fucked to this extent.
  252. >”I’m sorry for accusing you of that… It’s hard to believe the Captain would do something like that.”
  253. “You can always go read his mind.”
  254. >”I might do that… Rest assured I’ll take care of this.”
  255. >Luna began walking off again.
  256. “Princess?”
  257. >”What, human?”
  258. “I’m sorry for spitting on you.”
  259. >”As much as I hate to admit, that was clever.”
  260. “No hard feelings?”
  261. >”We’re not friends, if that’s what you mean.”
  262. “Fair enough. Have a good night.”
  263. >”You too.”
  264. >Luna trotted off once more, this time disappearing from sight as you picked yourself off the ground.
  265. >You made your way back to your room, smelling popcorn before you even walked inside.
  266. >”About time you got here!”
  267. “What’s going on here?”
  268. >”This is your last night in Equestria… I wanted to make it special.”
  269. “So we’re watching a movie?”
  270. >”Is that ok?”
  271. ”That sounds great.”
  272. >You peeled out of your greasy flight suit one last time, and crawled in bed next to the pink princess.
  273. >Just like Celestia had done earlier, Cadence wrapped a wing around you.
  274. >Oh man, softness overload.
  275. “What are we watching?”
  276. >”The Documentaries of Slendymane.”
  277. “That sounds familiar…”
  278. >”It’s a scary movie… Think you can handle it?”
  279. “Bring it on.”
  280. >These p0nies and their competitive spirit…
  281. >You and Cadence huddled together in the dark room, watching the movie being played from what looked to be an old timey projector.
  282. >Each time this strange p0ny appeared on screen, its face blank, sharply dressed in a black tuxedo, you could feel Cadence’s wing tighten around you
  283. >It was adorable really.
  284. >Not to mention you loved the sensation it brought to your skin.
  285. >The movie was over already? Damn shame.
  286. >”Good night Anonymous… I’ll miss you.”
  287. >You allowed her one last kiss, a going away present in your mind.
  288. >It’s not like you enjoyed being kissed by a pretty pink princess p0ny…
  289. >You each laid in bed, her backside pressed firmly against your body.
  290. “I’ll miss you too. Good night.”
  291. >you woke up the next day before the sun rise as planned.
  292. >Cadence was still sleeping peacefully along side you
  293. >Her chest rose and fell with each long deep.breath she drew
  294. >her mane was in your face, the gentle scent of spring flowers tickled your nostrils.
  295. >you almost didnt want to let go of her soft warm body.
  296. >but you had a long flight ahead of you, you needed to get going.
  297. >you slowly slipped out of the bed and put on your flight suit.
  298. >with your .38 to your leg and your boots to your feet, you were ready.
  299. >you leaned over the bedside, planting a kiss on the sleeping princess's cheek.
  300. >she stirred momentarily, settling after a few seconds and let out a small snore.
  301. >the moment you stepped out into the night air you were chilled to the bone.
  302. >you hurried to the hanger, in hopes that it would be slightly warmer inside.
  303. >inside the helicopter, you quickly ran through your preflight checklist, and brought the rotors up to speed.
  304. >you taxied out of the hangar, and into the courtyard where you ascended into the night sky.
  305. >the moon was full tonight, and not a single cloud hung above.
  306. >a perfect night for flying.
  307. "FLIR online, emergency gun controls online... Everything looks good. Alright old girl, lets do this."
  308. >on your screen, a lone signature appeared in the window of the room you stayed in.
  309. >the rotors must have woken cadence.
  310. >a part of your heart wanted to land one more time for a final goodbye, but you knew there was no room for it.
  311. "nice knowing ya Cadence"
  312. >you maxed the engines, skimming above the castle
  313. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=1BTfjKyvs7g
  314. >you raced over the mountains of equestria as fast as your gunship could go
  315. >how many were you about to go up against?
  316. >100?
  317. >1000?
  318. >10000?
  319. >fucking zeros.
  320. >as the hours passed, so did the landscape.
  321. >from mountains, to rolling hills, to grassy plains, to the vast and rocky desert that the changelings lived.
  322. >Celestia's yellow sun rose behind you and the moon retreated.
  323. >you placed your aviator sunglasses on your face, blocking the majority of the intense light.
  324. >soon, the changeling hive's spire came into view.
  325. >you circled it just like you did the first time you arrived here, observing the surroundings.
  326. >the changelings were escaping the desert heat inside their rocky spire.
  327. >a lone figure laid in the sand about 100m from the entrance, and you didnt need three guesses to figure out who it was.
  328. >savages, every one of them.
  329. >you landed next to the body of your long dead friend.
  330. >the rotting corpse stunk to high heaven in the desert heat, and had not moved one inch from where it had dropped.
  331. >you knelt beside him, yanking away his dogtags and took his sidearm and his ammo
  332. .>he never was one for following the rules, and his pearl handled 1911 was proof.
  333. "Mind if i borrow this? I'll take good care of it."
  334. >"Youre back. I figured you for dead."
  335. "You cant get rid of me that easily."
  336. >You turned and faced the queen of the changelings
  337. >you gripped the 1911 in your hand, resisting the foolish urge to shoot this bitch point blank in the head
  338. >"Why have you returned? Do you seek refuge from the p0nies?"
  339. "I want to go home."
  340. >Chrysalis laughed.
  341. >"Do you really think I could actually send you back? When i didnt mean to summon you to begin with?"
  342. "You made a deal! I fight,-"
  343. >"And i let you live."
  344. "You snake."
  345. >"Aww... Dont be so mean, you may hurt my feelings."
  346. "I should put a bullet in your skull for this."
  347. >"Go ahead. Do it. See how long it takes for my hive to rip you to shreds."
  348. "I'm smarter than that..."
  349. >you brushed past her, climbing back on board the gunship.
  350. >the engines didnt need to warm up this time, allowing you to quickly take off into the air and disappear over the nearby ridge.
  351. >a headache suddenly pained you, signaling that she had wormed her way into your mind.
  352. "Hello. Curious what i'm planning?"
  353. >as you spoke, you ran through the procedures or readying the weapons for pilot use.
  354. >after doing it so many times for training, you didnt even have to think.
  355. >"Quiet. What are you up to? I taste deceit."
  356. "Oh nothing at all."
  357. >You flipped the hellfire targeting swith to manual, and one of the tiny lcd screens displayed the flight path of the missile.
  358. "Would.you burry my friend? Might keep the stink out of your hive."
  359. >"You have a point..."
  360. "Hey Chrysalis?"
  361. >"What?"
  362. "YOU'VE GOT MAIL MOTHERFUCKER!"
  363. >The hellfire missile streaked through the air and over the ridge
  364. >The changelings could only watch in horror as it shot over head, then went into a nose dive
  365. >Chrysalis aftempted to raise her shield as best she could, but it was too much too fast.
  366. >the missile struck her in the shoulder and continued on to the ground where it exploded.

  368. >you shot back over the cliff and unleashed a barrage of rockets.
  369. >each one streaked through the air, sending high explosives careening into the base of the spire.
  370. >The spire listed and cracked, hanging to the side a moment before collapsing, burrying an unkown amount of changelings beneath tons of rock.
  371. >as you looped around, you switched to the 30mm and began firing at the remaining changeling blindy.
  372. >You were firing from the hip, if there was such a thing with a gunship.
  373. >the swarm of changelings foolishly charged you head on, allowing the 30mm to punch through their soft fleshy bodies like enourmous slugs.
  374. >as they grew closer, they realized their mistake of charging a gunship, and attempted to break away.
  375. >mist escaped in time, but an unlucky few collided with the rotors and were easily cut in half.
  376. >that pass eliminated maybe a frqction of the remaining hive, and they would likely not fall for that again.
  377. >you dove into the nearest canyon, skimming above the blue river at the bottom.
  378. >though they were smaller, and could individually out manuver you in this tight space, the changelings stuck to their swarming tactics.
  379. >their clustered nature sent several changelings crashing into the rocks, eliminating them from the chase
  380. >as you approached another corner, you fired more rockets into the cliff wall.
  381. >several chunks of rock broke loose, and came tumbling down the cliff.
  382. >you dove underneath of them and the swarm followed in a hivemind.
  383. >several of them were crushed by the falling rocks, and the falling changelings caused a domino effect.
  384. >one more gun run, and then you would disappear until nightfall.
  385. >you rounded the next corner and shot out of the canyon.
  386. >you pitched the nose into the air, pushing the yaw pedal so you spun the nose around and leveled 30mm at the canyon entrance.
  387. >just as you did, the swarm came aroubd the corner, and right i.to your sights.
  388. >the 30mm thumped away, spewing HE into the swarm.
  389. >each shot tore through several changelings, their bodies too soft to trigger the detonators.
  390. >the swarm disappated quickly, but not before you were able to deal some serious damage.
  391. >before they regrouped, you turned tail and headed away from the remains of the spire and the hive at full speed.
  392. >no changeling could match your speed in the open.
  393. >maybe chrysalis could, but one does not simply walk away from an anti tank missile.
  394. >You flew about 2 hours until you found an.enourmous cave dug into the side of the cliff.
  395. >the bottom was flat enough that you could land with out difficulty and the walls were wide enough that you could spin the helo around with out too much worry.
  396. >with the 30mm pointed at the exit, in event you were discovered, you made camp for the night.
  397. >Celestia had packed you some food and a blanket for you to use on your trip, being the kind and gentle soul she was.
  398. >as you dug into the jar of preserved apples, you began inspecting the fuselage of your gunship.
  399. >your inspection found several burn marks marked the olive drab paint and even a few holes in the areas that had been repeatedly hit.
  400. >from what you could see though, nothing important was hit, though it looked like you would be welding once you got back.
  401. >speaking of which, you had to wonder if Celestia would welcome you back like she said she would.
  402. >there was one way to find out, and you planned on making it back by tomorrow.
  403. >you patted the side of the gunship, as if encouraging it.
  404. "Hang in there old girl. We'll make it"
  405. >for now you kicked back, leaning against the helo and took a nap.
  406. >Once the sun went down, you would go back to the hive and finish what you started.
  407. tinychat.com/cppdy7u
  408. >with the sun set, you boarded the helo and got back in the air.
  409. >despite the distance you had put between you and the spire, you went dark the entire way.
  410. >your only source of light were the two dimmed screens that showed weapon status and your FLIR.
  411. >this wasnt about payback anymore.
  412. >you took that out on Chrysalis.
  413. >if Equestria was.to become your home, you didnt want anything to happen to it, and these changelings were the greatest threat to it that you knew.
  414. >you scanned the FLIR's camera, careful not to miss the fallen spire.
  415. >sure enough, you came to the spire's remains and found roughly a hundred changelings camped outside.
  416. >a few workers labored around the rubble, no doubt attempting to free any trapped friends of theirs.
  417. >Using the built in laser designator, you targeted the biggest group of changelings.
  418. >still a few miles away, the changelings didnt see, or hear you coming.
  419. >they also didnt notivce the hellfire streaking through the air until it was too late.
  420. >the missile exploded in the center of the cluster, sending bodies everywhich way.
  421. > not missing a beat, you rushed in, blasting away at the stunned and confused survivors with the 30mm.
  422. >body parts flew through the air, while others seemed to vaporize in the explosions.
  423. >you dove into a canyon, disappearing from their line of sight and making it harder to locate you by sound.
  424. >you popped out a short distance later, and swung back around the camp.
  425. >tiny bolts of green fire cris-crossed across the sky as the changelings fired blindly, hoping to hit you.
  426. >you strafed their position with rockets, spreading them apart.
  427. >the last of them fled in every which direction-, leaving you to gun down the stragglers.
  428. >a group of about a dozen changelings ran into a cave and you fired a pair of rockets inside, collapsing it in on them.
  429. >you looked around at the vast valley of death, taking in the view of the corpses laid all around.
  430. >the tiniest fireball streaked past you, missing by a few meters.
  431. >looking down, you saw the tiniest changeling ever.
  432. >it had to be a child, but a changeling none the less.
  433. >you placed your finger on the trigger, leveling the 30mm at it.
  434. >it stayed there, staring up at you defiantly.
  435. >this child, no more than 5, was ready to die.
  436. >yet you raised the 30mm back up, away from him.
  437. >you werent a monster.
  438. >a killer yes
  439. >but even you couldnt take the life of the child.
  440. >you turned tail and ran off, content with the destruction you caused.
  441. >if the changelings ever did come back, you would be ready for them.
  442. >you traveled back to the spot you had camped at a few hours earlier and set up once more.
  443. >you would travel back to Canterlot once the sun rose.
  444. >hopefully Celestia's offer of hospitality still stood.
  445.
  446. >your name is Christa
  447. >your entire hive was murdered before your very eyes.
  448. >your friends
  449. >your family
  450. >your queen.
  451. >all of them.
  452. >you were brave though, even fighting the metal machine and its human pilot at the end.
  453. >you even scared him off!
  454. >you limped across the scorched land, a piece of shrapnel digging into your leg.
  455. >but you were determined.
  456. >you would have your revenge.
  457. >the human would return to Canterlot, you were certain.
  458. >one day you would catch up to him and make him pay.
  459. >you swore to it.
  460. >you would have your revenge.
