- I am trying to allocate my hard disk with below set of partitions usign GPARTED.
- /dev/sdb1 - 256 MB
- /dev/sdb2 - 2048 MB
- With free space preceding as (4 Mb) between partitions.
- After applying the partition information When i run FDISK -l. I get "Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary."
- Why is that??
- FDSIK info:
- Partition table entries are not in disk order
- Disk /dev/sdb: 320.1 GB, 320072933376 bytes
- 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 38913 cylinders
- Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
- Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
- I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
- Disk identifier: 0xfe26cb19
- Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
- /dev/sdb1 1 34 262144 83 Linux
- Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary.
- /dev/sdb2 34 295 2097152 82 Linux swap / Solaris
- Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary.
