- If you didn't know already, the Yogscast Public Teamspeak (YogChat) was shut down this morning at around 5am GMT.
- Goodbye YogChat! I supposed I shan't hear "Connected" again. :/

- The long and short of it is (feel free to extrapolate):
- I have shut down every public server where a member of the Yogscast staff does not regularly participate in the managing of said server. Earlier it was the Team Fortress 2 server and the Minecraft server.
- "but wait, peva is running a MC server isn't that the same one?"
- no.
- Peva doesn't work for the Yogscast any longer. Before I arrived he had been given MANY opportunities within the company and capitalized on a grand total of Zero of them.
- Same goes with his Teamspeak, it is exactly that, his.
- One day we may get back to running "Official" Yogscast servers. Until then, feel free to start your own. Reach out to the community here and play.

- Peva did a great job, and nobody can deny that. The teamspeak was great for the Yogscast, it helped everyone feel like they could connect to the community, and Peva knew that. So did the Minecraft servers. It made everyone feel like they could be a little bit closer to the Yogscast. Sometimes they even got on the servers. I remember seeing Simon run around the server once, and everybody was so excited that it felt like the entire server was bursting with joy. What you've done is successfully shut down the little connection between the viewers and the Yogscast themselves. You've made them appear unreachable, untouchable, and that's what kills a community. Congratulations. I hope you are happy.

- I have shut down every public server where a member of the Yogscast staff does not regularly participate in the managing of said server. Earlier it was the Team Fortress 2 server and the Minecraft server.
- That is absolutely ridiculous. Minty and dyneslott have always been on the Yogscast teamspeak. There was almost always a moderator or 4, I should add, that were actively, and diligently managing and regulating the teamspeak, and regulars to the teamspeak such as myself can attest to this, and I'm not sure where you've gotten this false information, but it is unanimously incorrect. And according to the staff structure, these are individuals that are in fact, members of staff.
- And that accusation of Peva is borderline aspersion. All I have to say about that.

- Peva didn't approve, it does seem a little drastic that these steps were taken. The TF2 server was always empty because its boring and in general the TF2 community is very competitive if you don't have custom or modified content. The teamspeak server when I went on never had anyone in it really with the exception of the few staff members in their "Private" channels.
- On the side of public minecraft servers I don't think there is a place in the world were you can get your monies worth out of minecraft and I think several providers are just milking money out of what they thought to be a "fad" that would in the end go away.
- The fact of the matter is the forum staff are the forum staff as server staff should be server staff. Being an admin on a server is a completely different ball game because its a case of managing players and making decisions rather then following your check box rules on a forum. On the old minecraft server none of the staff knew what they were doing and in the end just began to build hate on themselves because they were banning for "Disrespect". You can't walk into a game server and start throwing rules at people like on a forum, you have to build the respect of the players so they accept your judgement.
- "does not regularly participate in the managing of said server" <- What?

- Wow why the hate. I dare somebody to dislike my posts as I want that infamous reputation. If you guys are really that upset over the closed servers then create your own. There are great people in this community, most of the time swamped with the mindless yogs. The point is if the British yogs can come together an host a Yogcon. Then somebody on here can organised the creation of unofficial servers.
- Think it as a way to contribute to the community.
- Also there is likely a good reason why they were closed down. Whatever it was don't hate as you were getting these services for free.

If Ridgedog is a staff member it seems to me he should have handled that a bit more professionally, as if the Yogscast is still community focused (that is where the money comes from) Regret's comments deserved a better and less hostile response than "What gives you the slightest Idea I did it for you?".

- You said you didn't see why everyone was raging. My point still stands. You obviously care about other people and I don't want to be part of these forums if people are going to have everything they have worked for taken away from them.
- I saw people raging over the closing of free services for this community. Your point wasn't a good one, my post was never about Peva's situation.
- But lets get onto that subject shall we? I find it unprofessional for either side to bring something like employment issues or things run behind the scenes onto the forum. Because all it will do is split sides between the opposing parties and arguments will ensured. The reason for the closure of the servers could be given with a clear reason and then the thread closed. This thread will become a ticking timebomb if this issue develops.
- But personal thoughts? I think Peva deserves a proper explanation to what is happening. You would have to be a blind dog to not see his contribution. But I also suggest for people to stay in control of their reactions.

- Ridgedog, You are the worst example of a human I have ever encountered, You have done nothing but destroy this community the moment you sank your claws into it, Nothing you do seems to have a point and it would appear that not even you know why you are doing these things.
- Peva has done nothing but help this community and all you do is spread hate, whenever you speak on here you cause drama and all you do is make people hate you. You are without a doubt the most horrid, unprofessional and arrogant person I have ever encountered.
- I don't care if I get an infraction for this, the worst that will happen is I get banned from a forum I don't regularly visit, The teamspeak was where I connected to the community.
- Why would the Yogscast hire a man who clearly doesn't care about the community and from first impressions actually wants to destroy it.
- [Edit]
- and if it's more trouble than good then why are you still here?

- Ridgedog - how DARE you say that Peva has done nothing for the yogscast and to capitalise and whatnot?
- You don't even know Peva and you don't even know who half of us are. You even said that the moderators don't even matter and that their opinions don't count and that only yours does. Apparently, you're 'exempt from the rules'. Who the hell are you? I don't even know who you are and you come on here thinking that you can throw your weight around. I respect Peva and Minty and the other members of staff and the moderators more than you.
- You've been disrespectful and you are unprofessional to this community. Why are you unprofessional? You declare Peva's redundancy on a ****ING FORUM! WTF?! That isn't how you fire people. You tell them to their faces? Or are you a coward? Normally, I don't rage this much, but congratulations sir, you've managed to get me so riled up I would LOVE to punch you right now you fucking asshole.

- I find the level of offence and immaturity in this thread to be pretty saddening. I also think you are being shown incredible amounts of patience, if you had spoken like this to anyone in communities I have run in the past you would have lasted less than 5 seconds. Get a grip before their patience runs out. You are not paying for being here, it is given to you, treat the privilege with some bloody respect.
- So something has happened, it happened for a reason, deal with it.
- What you don't seem to be understanding is the move from the Yogscast being a small company to more professional one. For that to happen you have to run a proper business with accounts, taxes, staff, offices, etc, etc. You have to justify everything with a business reason, everything, or the business will never be successful.
- If one of you can climb out of your internet rage and put together a spreadsheet showing the profitability of a teamspeak server then I'm sure Ridge would be more than happy to read it. If you can show with actual numbers and facts how how it is viable as a company asset then I'll be impressed.
- So climb out of the rage and set up a community one, it isn't hard and doesn't cost that much (like a quid each). If you truly do care about your community, and it really sounds like you guys do, then help it rather than burning it.

- Personally my issue is with how Ridgedog has been responding to this thread, he has fanned the flames quite a bit and been very insulting in his responses. Maybe the Yogscast can't afford it's free services anymore, but that doesn't excuse Ridgedog being so patronizing.

- Ridgedog, as a member of the Yogscast crew shouldn't you be trying to set a good example to the rest of the community? You have impacted this forum in such a negative way it's unbelievable! You dare suggest that Peva has done nothing for this community? You could never have as much of a positive impact on this community as he has, now I don't know how you have managed to secure a place on the yogscast crew with such a disgusting attitude but I do hope that the senior staff at the Yogscast see how you are ruining their community and act accordingly. You have acted in a disgraceful manner and alienated the majority of the community with your slanderous comments. To me it seems as though you are driving a wedge between the Yogscast and their fans, and if this is your intention then you deserve to be punished.
