  2. Keep blue circles within each other.

  7. One thing that does not add anything to BR, rather it takes away from the experience, are blue circles that jump too far when shrinking. It's not fun, it's not entertaining, it's not really that fair, and it sucks.
  8.
  9. New blue circle shrinks should ONLY be within the borders of the previous circle to give the players some sort of continuity to the movement of the blue circle and makes the overall gameplay a lot less hectic and annoying.
  10.
  11. Here is an example of what should and should not happen:
  12. 1. This is a standard circle.
  13. 2. This is how a circle should shrink— the new circle does not pass the border of the circle before it.
  14. 3. This is how a circle should not shrink.
  15.
  16. I think a change like this will only make the experience most enjoyable for most, while also helping out newer players since they won't be confused why all of they sudden they need to run over 500 meters in two minutes.

  23. The center of the circle is always within the previous circle. Having the entire new circle in the borders would drastically limit the variability in games. Adapt to the varying gameplay. Tbh your problem really only comes from the first few circles when the shrink is 1k in diameter.

  26. "Tbh your problem really only comes from the first few circles when the shrink is 1k in diameter."
  27.
  28. That is my problem and I'm not the only one to feel that way. I do not find it fun even in the slightest when a circle will just jump to a ridiculous location than it's previous circle. Game becomes unpredictable, not in the good kind of way, and it hinders gameplay consistency.
  29.
  30. I think at least it should be tried out once to see how it flows and plays out, but I can already assure you it would make the experience more fluid.

  33. So you want to make the game easier by making it more predictable. Those who can react to any situation thrown at them have the advantage over those who can't. Sure it sucks when you have to run a lot. However, everyone forgets the times when they didn't have to move.
  34.
  35. Not saying a change can't be made. PU will have to be the one to decide that as he decides everything that goes in the mod or is changed from the mod. I just don't think this is necessary. However, getting rid of the fast games on Stratis would be good.

  41. @NateRoyale,
  42.
  43. I agree with what you are suggesting, in that every new blue circle 'shrink' should be within the bounds of the existing blue circle, as per your second picture example.
  44.
  45. TBH, it doesn't make sense when the blue circle shrink jumps out of the bounds of the previous blue circle... causing a player to run a marathon (up to 1000 meters) to actually get back inside the 'safe zone' again... and all within "2" minutes.
  46.
  47. The center of the circle is always within the previous circle.
  48.
  49. That's not what he suggested.
  50.
  51. Sure the center point is inside the lase blue circle, but then add the diameter of the new blue circle to that, and the new blue circle overlaps the last blue circle.
  52.
  53. It's not that hard to change the calculations to subtract the diameter of the new blue circle from the random chosen location on the current blue circle circumference, and it make the new blue circle be within the bounds of the current blue circle.
  54.
  55. I think I said 'blue circle' too much.
  56.
  57. That is my problem and I'm not the only one to feel that way
  58.
  59. Agreed, I feel the same (and I'm not afraid to give my opinion on it).
  60.
  61. So you want to make the game easier by making it more predictable.
  62.
  63. Not real sure how having the new blue circle inside the bounds of the current blue circle is "more predictable", when the chosen position is still random. It just means the circumference is smaller in relation to 'random'... and you have less distance to run/crawl.
  64.
  65. I just don't think this is necessary.
  66.
  67. No, not necessary, purely a suggestion... hence this is posted in the suggestion section. It's not a game-breaker... no, but I agree it can be annoying to be constantly running for the whole BR round. Not everyone will agree, not everyone will disagree, not everyone will care enough to comment or bring it to attention... at least @NateRoyale did.
  68.
  69. Again, these are suggestions purely based upon individual opinions, which one person speaks up about, although I'm sure many others think the same thing (an assumption on my behalf).
  70.
  71. On legit and proper suggestions, there should be a poll made for voting to get a 'true' picture on what players think (that is provided that everyone can post only once and be honest in their choice... you know... too many trolls and such).
  72.
  73. On another note...
  74.
  75. Another 'gripe' of mine is that the text on screen pops up and shows 'the circle will shrink in 2 minutes'... then 10 seconds later the map updates and shows it's shrunk already... so the on screen text doesn't really make sense.
  76.
  77. It should be as follows, text notification "YOUR MAP HAS BEEN UPDATED" and "YOU HAVE 2 MINUTES TO BE INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE"... "YOU HAVE 1 MINUTE TO BE INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE"... "YOU HAVE 30 SECONDS TO BE INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE".
  78.
  79. Also with the health damage hits, everyone knows it's actually 2½ minutes, not 2. Well, according to the config, its 20 seconds each there after for a 'hit' whilst out of the 'zone', but by the time the script does its checks and executes... it's 30 seconds... so either health hit exactly at 2 minutes, or adjust the text to read "YOU HAVE 2½ MINUTES TO BE INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE"... just a suggestion of course. #dontbemadk

  84. --------------------
  85. I know what he suggested. It does make the circle more predictable because it limits its ability to shift by quite a bit. The circle is already limited in how much it can shift and can only do big shifts in its center in the first 2-3 circles. After the first 2-3 circles the distance the circle shifts is very limited.
  86.
  87. Also you should be punished for being on the outside of the circle when the circle shrinks. Plan ahead and don't be in a situation that causes you to run the whole game.
  88.
  89. On the other topic of the timing. You get 1 warning then you take damage. It is not true that you have 2 1/2 minutes to get in. The circle is locked in and checking at its new location after the 2 minutes and the few seconds it takes to get through the code to check there. Saying you have 2 1/2 minutes would just be false. The first damage tick is a warning. You can get this warning by stepping outside the blue circle after it is locked in. Should we always put up a message saying you have x amount of time to get in the blue circle when you step out? No that doesn't make sense. The 2 minute warning is there to say when the new boundary will be locked in and start checking your position.

  92. @soulkobk , so you, of all people, who has complained a lot of the blue circle being a little off on the GPS, are suggesting that that the circle should instantly give a hit after it locks down? I mean you don't think there should be a 20s grace period to adjust your position for a situation like that?
  93.
  94. Here's the sequence again with timestamps:
  95. 00:00 In 2 minutes, the blue circle will shrink again!
  96. 00:10 Your map has been updated!
  97. 01:10 In 60 seconds, play will be restricted to the area inside the blue circle!
  98. 02:10 Play is now restricted to the area inside the blue circle! / You are outside the play zone!
  99. 02:30 You are still outside the play zone! Move back inside now!
  100.
  101. I think you are just nitpicking about the order of the messages. Think of the 2 minute warning as an advance notification that the circle is about to shrink and let you have a little time to take a look at the map. 10 seconds later it shows the new circle. 2 minutes after that the circle locks down but still gives you a 20 second grace period. I mean it just can't be that hard.

  104. Off topic...
  105.
  106. Here's the sequence again with timestamps:
  107. 00:00 In 2 minutes, the blue circle will shrink again!
  108. 00:10 Your map has been updated!
  109. 01:10 In 60 seconds, play will be restricted to the area inside the blue circle!
  110. 02:10 Play is now restricted to the area inside the blue circle! / You are outside the play zone!
  111. 02:30 You are still outside the play zone! Move back inside now!
  112.
  113.
  114. Correct, you just proved my point that I was trying to explain, thanks. 00m:00s to 02m:30s... is that not 2½ minutes?
  115.
  116. My suggestion is...
  117.
  118. 00m:00s "YOUR MAP HAS BEEN UPDATED" "IN 2 MINUTES, PLAY WILL BE RESTRICTED TO THE AREA INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE".
  119. 01m:00s "IN 60 SECONDS, PLAY WILL BE RESTRICTED TO THE AREA INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE!"
  120. 01m:30s "IN 30 SECONDS, PLAY WILL BE RESTRICTED TO THE AREA INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE!"
  121. 02m:00s "PLAY IS NOW RESTRICTED TO THE AREA INSIDE THE BLUE CIRCLE!"
  122.
  123. At 02m:00s, (in my opinion) there should be an instant health hit... after all, the notices do tell you that you have 2 minutes, not 2½ minutes to be inside the 'play zone', everyone knows they get another 30 seconds in order to get back inside the blue circle before taking a health damage hit, all due to being warned after the fact with the message "YOU ARE STILL OUTSIDE THE PLAY ZONE! MOVE BACK INSIDE NOW!", and knowing how BR is scripted.
  124.
  125. Again, these are merely suggestions which are being brought to the attention of the BR community... which are mostly based upon personal opinion/experience. Everyone has an opinion, and has the right to express their opinions/concerns/suggestions without being attacked in responses. You don't have to agree with the topic in discussion... just don't be a douche in your responses.
  126.
  127. "I mean it just can't be that hard." Exactly!
  128.
  129. I don't understand why dev's (and other players) just disregard suggestions on making enhancements to BR. I just don't get it. Everyone is automatically in defense mode, as they take 'suggestions' as an 'attack'. It's merely a suggestion, get over it.
  130.
  131. On the other topic of the timing. You get 1 warning then you take damage. It is not true that you have 2 1/2 minutes to get in.
  132.
  133. How is that not true? You kinda proved my point with your comment "You get 1 warning then you take damage". Aka you get 'warned' at 02m:00s about being outside of the circle, yet you have another 00m:30s seconds to get back inside it BEFORE taking a health damage hit... 02m:00s + 00m:30s == 02m:30s yes?
  134.
  135. If it were set at 02m:00s as per the current messages state, one would suffer a health damage hit for being outside of the play zone. As for stepping 'outside' of the play zone once you are 'inside' it... yes there should be a warning before a health damage hit.
  136.
  137. There are a lot of scripting errors in BR, we are merely suggesting corrections.
  138.
  139. @Tzer and @Majarkin, you have a nice day.

  145. You always get 1 warning when you step outside the circle. No matter if the circle is just locking in or has been locked in for a few minutes. When the blue circle locks in at the end of the 2 minutes, it is stating the change in the region from the old blue circle to the new blue circle where it checks if you are in or out of the circle. No matter what stage the blue circle is in, it will give you one warning to get in. If you get in the circle and see the you are back inside the circle message, the warning resets. So the message 2 minutes before it locks in is correct. If you are outside the new region after those 2 minutes the whole warning system starts kicking back into play.
  146.
  147. Please understand a mechanic before you comment on it. Suggestions made by someone who does not understand the mechanic they are talking about are usually pointless.
  148.
  149. So yes while this is the suggestion forum, bad suggestions or misinformed suggestions tend to get bad feedback. I could suggest to make it so it just rolls randomly between players and just picks one winner and that is the game. Obviously this is not a reasonable suggestion. While, I will admit, that example is blown out of proportions quite a bit, the point I was trying to make still stands. Just because you have an opinion or suggestion doesn't mean it is good or has to be heard. You are free to your opinion but to attack people or have childish comments to those who disagree won't get you anywhere. You have shown time and time again that when others disagree you backlash against them in one form or another and then restate exactly what you said before ignoring most counter arguments.
