You’ve been invited to join the private beta for our new dynos. We’ve created new dynos so you can choose the features and pricing that best fit your use case, from dev apps and hobby projects to production and super-scale apps.

As a beta tester, you can opt-in as many of your applications you like. We want your feedback!

Getting started is easy:
Select one of your apps in the dashboard, then click “Edit” in the Resources tab.
​Select the dyno type you wish to use and click “Save”.

You can opt your applications in or out at any time - you’ll be charged only for what you use, prorated to the second.

What are the new dynos?
In this beta, we’re introducing two new kinds of dynos to provide individual developers with the tools they need for a variety of personal projects and experimentation.

Free - Run your personal projects and experiments with 1 web, 1 worker and `heroku run`/scheduler all for free. Apps sleep after 1 hr with no traffic. Active up to 12 hours a day. Deployed to your choice of subdomain on herokuapp​.com. 512 MB RAM.

Hobby - Run a small app 24x7 with the Heroku developer experience for $7/dyno/mo.  Supports custom domains. Run a maximum of one dyno per Procfile entry. 512 MB RAM.

How have we evolved the existing dynos?
Heroku’s classic dynos are getting a price cut and we have added new features that apply no matter how many dynos you purchase.

Standard 1X, 2X: Build production apps of any size or complexity. Run multiple dynos per Procfile entry to scale out. App metrics, faster builds and preboot. All Hobby features. 512MB or 1GB RAM.  $25 or $50/dyno/mo.

Performance - Isolated dynos for your large-scale, high-performance apps. All Standard features. Compose your app with performance and standard dynos. 6GB RAM. $500/dyno/mo.

All dynos of every type come with the core features of the Heroku platform: Git-based deployment, managed patches and updates, automatic dyno restarts and aggregated logs.

Beta - What’s Next?
This is a private beta. We are listening closely to your input and we will consider changes based on feedback from developers during the private beta.

We do not comment on the length of private betas but we will give ample notice about changes as they come so you can plan accordingly.

Before making any pricing changes public, we expect to provide customers the option of a generous grandfather period to adjust for these changes.
